This is nonsense.....they don't want to follow his instructions.....his instructions have been proven to work for decades....his inability to convince players to do it is the issue. They might be unhappy playing in his style but It's probably more not willing to put 100% effort in for someone they dislike. His instructions are not that complex. Heard all this same stuff re LVG and his instructions...."Never our Fault" could be the tagline for united players.
That's exactly what I am thinking. And is one of the reasons why this set of players will more than likely cause the next manager to be sacked.
The problem is that it has become acceptable for this set of players to not give 100% effort. After all, Jose is the one who takes all the flack.

Why hasn’t anyone put Fred in line up? We won the last games he played iirc. His energy to match Torreira.

    Early team news suggestion
The suggestion is that Rojo is starting for United which would be his first league start since Watford in the last game of last season.

Why not. Nothing to lose here. If we get beat comfortably this might mean the end for that fraud of a manager. If we win well... we won, yay.
That fraud of a manager who has won at every club he has managed - Porto, Chelsea, Milan, Real, Chelsea.

You could add United for the Europa League but not on the same scale I accept.

What does that tell us about United I wonder.

Because we all know Mourinho isn't going to play him.
Fred is behind Matic, Fellaini, Pogba, Herrera, McTominay, Mata, Lingard for his spot in the midfield.

Our 4th most expensive signing in the history that is.

not if he benches Pogba. Mou has to have at least one creative midfielder on the pitch he can scapegoat.
Didn't we have a Matic-Fellaini-McTominay midfield recently? Mourinho's wet dream.

If someone like Pep or Emery came in, they’d get rid of half the squad straight away.

We need someone ruthless but who is also a good man manager.

Jose probably had his hands tied and wanted to ship out half the squad - but what gives Young the captian’s armband? Plays a bumbling Lukaku whenever possible, relies on Matic every single game even when he’s not playing well? This is where Jose has fecked up and lost some fans.

If he had stuck with a front 3 of Martial, Sanchez, Rashford. A midfield 3 of Herrera, Pogba and Fred. Some fans wouldn’t mind, at least he’s trying to win matches then.

But the over reliance on slow cloggers like Matic it’s just weird now.
    Well said mate!

We're going to win tonight regardless of the awful team our manager decides on.

It's Arsenal, the players will raise their game for this one.

The tactics are not good enough .we have no style of play. That's why we can beat Man City and get beaten by WBA. Beat Liverpool and get beaten by Huddersfield. We have become an underdog team . Against small teams we need more than just effort . We need a style of play to break them down and we don't have .
And it can't send a good message if under performing players are allowed to walk into the team week in week out. Why should I ggive 100% if I know Matic is shite and there's no threat of him being dropped? There must be a level playing field first and then there will be no room for anyone to give less than 100%

    I predict

    DDG
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Darmian
    Fellaini Matic Pogba
    Rashford Lukaku Martial

*I think the whole virus stuff is probably BS, but if he's not playing tonight it's clearly true.

Unlikely Pogba plays today. Mourinho always loves using the spotlight to deliver a message. We have nothing to lose losing this game so I think he will bench Pogba.

No question Mourinho is a brilliant manager that has won everything in his path previously but part of his 3rd season syndrome is getting too caught up in petty shit like this that push him off course. This is classical and sad for us tbh.

If someone told me an Arsenal win would guarantee his sack I'd want us to lose. There, I said it. I care about this club more than some bitter manager.
Willing to accept an 8-2 wolloping if it gets rid of the real virus from this club
Find posts like this quite depressing. The day I actively want the team I support to lose I hope will never come. Its not about wanting this or that manager to succeed or fail nor this or that player to do well. Its all about United. I realise it aint going to happen but I would love it if we went on an unbeaten winning run for the rest of the season and lifted the FA Cup and the Champions League to boot. And if we did and that led to a knighthood for JM well I'd be as made up as a pig ins*** As I said it aint going to happen and you could say, without offending me, that its living in cloud cookoo land but then that's what the majority of folks who follow football teams do every week of their lives and all credit to them. Sometimes, just once in a blue moon, their dreams come true. Just ask Leicester or Wigan followers.

It wasn't always sweet smelling roses at Old Trafford as for over 20 years we were basically in the wilderness as we are now. For goodness sake we were even relegated to the old second division. And through all the pain the supporters in the day still paid their money and hoped for better times. And better times came. Now they have gone again and just like I have witnessed throughout my life we have a multitude of supporters who appear to think we have some god given right to success. Well life aint like that.

From what I see and what the heck do I know because I am not in the know. How the heck can our chief exec be negotiating contracts where we are paying on average over half a million in wages per year per player more than City. That is not any managers fault. Its the chief exec I assume who negotiates the pay rate per employee. Then we have had successive managers who seem to be wanting players who just do not work out. Now thats down to the manager and the scouting staff. Finally we have sadly some snowflake players who only seem to want to perform if they are loved....

But wanting United to lose what the heck is that all about. You certainly are not true supporters IMHO

I know why you say that, historically that would be true, but that generation of players ( even managers ) and the mindset that went with them are no longer at the club.

Historical differences and dislikes are not appreciated by most of our current squad.

Hoping Sunday took a lot out of Arsenal but they're more likely to be flying after a performance like that.
    Worried about this tonight

That we're special. What works for every other club can't work for us, because the players are far too worried about the vacant director of football position. Because football is obviously full of subtleties beyond the obvious.

Or maybe Jose's doing a shite job.

Not that special as he was also sinking Chelsea into the mud at the end of his second spell. Guess we should be happy we're in the top half and not closer to relegation.

game wont matter Mou already has his injury excuse ready to go. Because injuries are clearly the reason we are hovering around midtable and still look like crap.

    MUTV predicted line up
Stewart Gardner stressed it’s his prediction but this is how MUTV think United could line up:

De Gea, Dalot, Bailly, Rojo, Darmian, Herrera, Matic, Pogba, Rashford, Lukaku and Martial
