Is Martial still injured? Think that's your best chance, him giving little defensive responsibility on the left and just told to get at Milner/Fabinho as much as possible. Of course that means ball needs to be played quickly to him rather than 10 sideways passes in midfield so would start Pogba and also Mata who likes playing Liverpool.

Jose will go with a combination of experience and work-rate for this encounter. Something like this I would imagine:

    -----------------DDG-------------

    Valencia---Smalling---Bailly---Young

    ------------Matic---Herrera---------

    ------Mata-----Fellaini------Lingard

    ----------------Lukaku--------------

It will be a backs-to-the-wall affair for around 70 odd minutes, at which point (and assuming we haven't conceded by some miracle) he may release Martial/Rashford and/or Pogba from their cages in an effort to snatch a goal on the counter.

This will not be a game for the neutral. Do yourself a favour and don't tune in ;)

    Rashford will start.

    Im dreading this fecking game
I on the other hand am looking forward to it in the hope that only things that could happen is positive.
    Win - positive
Lose - positive (in the hope of someone getting the sack)

Probably a draw is worst case scenario from me.

    State of me these days

Why?, if we get anything better than a thrashing it will be a good result and if we don’t hopefully jose gets nearer the door.
Regardless of the outcome (Jose leaving or not) I can't wish a thrashing by Liverpool upon United. Hope we smash them into Oblivion. Or get a jammy 0-1 win where the ball enters the net after 20 deflections, one off the linesman

I think Salah will play as the striker in a 4-2-3-1. Firmino, Shaqiri and Mane as the 3, Henderson and Keita as the 2 and the VVD, Lovren, Milner and Robertson at the back
Hmmmm. Disagree. Think it will be your back four plus Wijnuldam,Fabinho, Keita, then Mane, Bobby, Salah. If you remember Klopp was looking to sub Wij in the Napoli match but changed his sub to Milner when he got a knock. In my mind Wij definitely starts and so does Fabinho, who will be a help aerially against Fellaini/Lukaku.

Im not wishing a thrashing, I’m just expecting one and hoping we smash them into oblivion is less likely to happen than a thrashing. I always want us to win but I just can’t see it, we’re letting crap teams score against us and Liverpool are scoring more than most.
I think the best result we can get is something like a 1 or 2 nil loss.

That's fair. I'll still be devastated by a loss to these cnuts, feck a silver lining

Yep, an own goal coming from Lukaku slicing the ball backwards onto the back of Milner's head, diverting the ball past the keeper. That would do me.

I hope we will beat them and help City win the league. Sir Alex worked so hard to knock them out of the perch, this is the least we can do. :(

It stinks that every manager since saf left has had us in this exact position where losing isn't the worst thing in the world because it might get them the sack. This is the fault of upper management who never seems to act in a timely or desisive fashion and try to salvage a season but wait till it's too late.

You’ve just highlighted the sentiments of a minority of us in this community. It doesn’t matter whether the upper management makes the decision early or late, who they place in charge, we may see temporary relief but the real problem still exist. We’ll just get to the same situation in a short time.

Honestly, it's nice to have that problem. It feels like years since we could name an 11 and then have questions over other players coming in instead. Just shows our strength in depth now.
The only reason that I don't think he'll go with 4-3-3 is because it will give us an different set up to how you've frustrated us in previous years.
Klopp loves Henderson and for all his faults, he's a fighter and loves getting stuck into these type of matches. I agree that Fabinho warrants a start after his last few games but I'm not sure he'll get it.
We've got a lot of options and a few different formations that we can use so I can't wait to see who we go with

I can see us getting plastered. If they score first, we will get picked off brutally on the counter every time we try to level. If we defend deep (which we most definitely will) then we will be pinned to our 18 yard box for the majority of the match. So dreading this fixture.

If Liverpool get an early goal, then it's game.
That is the real danger and of course Jose knows that so I expect us to be very compact.

I do think that he will go with pace on the counter attacks but he will also want these players to tackle back and get back behind the ball.

Will be interesting to see if or how he uses Pogba.
Our players normally raise their game against the top teams.

But. Like most I am very apprehensive.

I can see us getting a result. Not that we are any good, but we will defend like a Huddersfield or Cardiff, frustrating Liverpool, then nicking a goal with one of our big lumps off a set play. Anything can happen in a one match game. On the hand I wouldn't be surprised to see Liverpool rout us. As much as I would be willing to see us lose to remove him, the thought off Liverpool led by the buck toothed bearded nutter dancing & running around celebrating is too much to bear. Better to lose badly to the likes of Huddersfield & Cardiff, which I feel would get him sacked.

I hope the players show that they play as much with the heart as the brain, and that they have a working capacity that we have not seen earlier this season.

If large parts of the team have cramped in the last ten minutes, they can keep the honor even if we lose. But let's not see players who can not run, have hanging heads and are unconcentrated.

It would be a blessing to see 11 warriors from MU on the plan, then we can also forgive one or another mistake.

Let's hope for it and that we get some points as a reward for a good work effort, even if it would not be so beautiful!

It’s difficult to get excited and be positive about such a big game when you are convinced that the manager is openly sabotaging games to prove a point.

This 100%, wouldn't surprise me If he started a midfield of Matic, Fellaini and McTominay tomorrow just to piss off everyone

    4231, please.

Two banks of four. Stay compact, send them into wide areas and create a block with our defensive midfielders.

Here's how we have to play. Our 2-1 win last season.

How many times must he prove it? I think we got the message a while ago. I used to love Liverpool away. The players and supporters were always up for it. This time it feels like we're beaten before a ball has been kicked in anger.

Pointless season. Don't think even the players are fighting for top four. Jose killed everything with his words and tactics. We used to get so excited before games like these but it just feels numb this time maybe because we are behind top teams and we don't challenge at all!

Like to be optimistic but am fearing this game more than any other in the José reign. Genuinely think they might take 4 or 5 off of us if they score in the first 15 minutes. It won’t be like against the other teams recently who have gone ahead against us then tried to protect the lead, Liverpool will go for the throat.
