It's like we've gone months without a wank. Filling buckets today. Probably tomorrow too.

The greatest team in history
When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of Redcafe and basking in the warmth of their hearths and hearts, I couldn't imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous winter.

Imagine we get a new manager and lukaku still plays and cant control the ball, matic is still automatic starter, martial isnt liked, pogba misplaces 5 yard passes, and Jones.... well no hope for him.

This should have happened either after Sevilla (well end of that season) or November time when we were still in touching distance of Top4 but clearly on a downward spiral with Jose having fallen out with everybody

He tried his best and we had many good moments. We actually did play amazing football at times, but in the end, Mourinho does what Mourinho does; create a toxic environment and throws his players under the bus.

Good luck to you Mourinho.

He won some trophies and annoyed the piss out of people on here. Can't ask for more in a manager.

Bye Jose.

"Football heritage". Cnut always thought about number one and should've been sacked after the Sevilla post match conference.

Zidane is not taking an interim role.

The man has won 3 straight CL titles.
Seriously people can’t be that dumb. He’s not auditioning or interim manager, you give him 4-5 year contract if you want him. Pep and Jose level wages. He’s the gold standard right now look at what is happening at real. Hes the difference.

Yes, him and his amazing trophies..

Yeah, let's get all the English out of the club and turn it into a La Liga team..
The English at our club outside Rashford (who is frustrating as it is) is shite.

Unless we're about to completely overhaul how the footballing side of the club is handled, I fear we're in real danger of rinse & repeat here.

Its the right decision, but its been the obvious outcome for so long that the club should've been using the time to source a DOF to come in and start working to get some identity and structure to bring a new manager into.

Taking over, and lifting Utd out of the slump we're in won't be as easy (or very attractive) proposition as some seem to think.

Michael Carrick named acting interim manager until new temporary manager appointed within next 48 hours.
Holy shit. Didn't know that such a thing exists. Interim manager looks weird by itself, but acting interim is even weirder.

Think he could be the Argentine Moyes. Had the best player player in the world not named Ronaldo, Messi or Neymar for the last three years and won feck all, got to one paltry final, despite having the cup finals and semis at home last year, and finished a distant second at best in the league. He would have already been sacked before Mourinho at United.

He could come and do great, but he wouldn't get away with his mode of working at Spurs at United. You can't go into a season happy to play some nice football, nab a golden boot and not compete for anything, even be willing to essentially throw the cups, at Old Trafford. Can you imagine having only won two League Cups in the Premier League era and having a manager who views winning anything with almost contempt?
Kane is the 4th best player in the world?

You have to question Woodward though...... How much must we still be spending on the last three managers?

Woodward should really go too in my opinion. That is if the owners give a shit about football side of the business.

After posting numerous times in the last few days that he'll be here until March, I feel a little bit stupid.

It has still come too late to make any difference to our top 4 hopes, but at least we now have the time to make that crucial DoF appointment, along with the eventual new manager.

I’m not so sure. Zidane would be a better fit to handle the unique pressures at a top club. There’s still a risk element to anyone that has not performed at the very highest level. Zidane at least knows this but is our squad as good as Madrid’s was? It seems implausible that he couldn’t get a better style of play than what we’ve endured for at least 5/6 years. That’s what I’m looking forward to the most. Attacking football is (hopefully) here again!

Not true. Opportunities like Utd don't come around often. He wouldn't leave mid season, but he would have no qualms leaving Spurs in the summer for a better club. Even in crisis Utd have won more in the past three years than spurs have in 30 years.
Ummmm opertunites don’t come round too often? Really? 3 times in what 6 years?

No sympathy for him whatsoever.. it was long time coming.

He was taking the fans on a ride through a load of more shite results and ridiculous statements and excuses, all for his own gain and to save face. Enough is enough. He can spend xmas counting his big fat paycheck. That should comfort him a bit. But this is no doubt the best thing United could have done.

Time for a fresh start lads

Ok well let's see what happens. In my view there is zero chance of him leaving Spurs for any club right now. In a couple of years sure, but not now.
If Utd want him, he will go. As much as Spurs have done well, they are not challenging for the title, a potential cup win aside Spurs' progress has bottomed out.

He wasn't even allowed to buy anyone in the summer, that's not progress from his perspective. To say that there is zero chance he will go is utterly delusional. We of course don't know whether he will even be in the running.

Feel Zidane would a total Woodward appointnent. Big box-office name, the star-struck goof. I just don’t see Zidane as a builder.

I think Pochettino would want to build the club up again.

Absolute madness.. We've turned into a fan-pleasing circus which doesn't stick by it's own decisions but knees to this modern hype ..

Not Big Sam as we are not in the relegation zone. I don't think Rafa is going to come as Interim Manager anyway.

Throwing a new manager into the mess the club is currently in is bad news and unfair. We need to consolidate and get back to something resembling Manchester United if we want to give our new manager the best start we can. Right now we need someone who's good a crisis management. I don't think Pochettino is the right appointment anyway, he's consistently failed at the final hurdle and he won't be able to turn us around.
Putting aside whether Pochetino is the right manager, you're saying we shouldn't get a new manager until the club has turned itself around?

Thanks Jose. You saved so many hours of my life by making me not watch United.
