I think United would be a very luring proposition for someone of Pochettino's stature. The budgets will probably remain massive, the squad is not that bad, expectations will be down and the management is rather patient anyway. Even not playing in the CL might be an actual blessing in disguise for a first season, as it allows the coach to train a lot more and rotate less.
If we're being honest he will never win (meaningful) silverware with Spurs, so unless he values his comfort zone above his ambitions he should be eager to make the move up.

What I'm not so sure about is whether United should buy him out of his contract. Levy no doubt would ask a lot and I'm not sure Poch has shown enough to justify that.

The right decision for all concerned.
His past record can't be faulted but there's no future in the past.

No one knows what will happen next but Mourinho had to go.
Guys I think we ruined Christmas for opposition fans throughout the league.
Think they were hoping we didn't have the balls to sack Jose so they they thought we were going to put up with this pile of poo until the end of the season. Iv'e got one things to say to all, those tw^ts "Feck yoou".

We have a decent group of club ambassadors including Sir Bobby, Sir Alex, Neville, Irwin, McClair, Cole, Robson and others who should, along with Nicky Butt and maybe Kieran McKenna - be locked in a room and asked to put down in writing exactly the criteria for how Manchester United Football Club should play football.

First things first, a candidate for Director of Football should be identified. Such a person must have:
  • Experience at creating structures and systems from scratch at a major, high profile club.
  • An attacking approach to quick, modern and exciting football.
  • A focus on recruiting, developing and playing young, exciting players.
Once that person has been identified and hired, they should be tasked with recruiting a manager who best suits their vision for bringing the club into line with the stated goals.

The manager (or head coach), along with the scouts, the academy coaches and all other footballing personnel should be answerable to the Director of Football who's performance is judged on how well we are meeting the three points above rather than wins or short term performance.
I think it's this.

After 3 fails in a row we can't expect the board to leave the decisions to Woodward. (also the 3 fails were not his picks 100%, everybody was in)
Hope they realize we need structure, not another globe trotter of a manager that will work under the same conditions. Structure is everything in football.

Seriously. I can't be doing with another 2-3 years of defensive football, no matter how effective it may be.

Counter attacking is fine, but I don't want us to be inviting pressure against the likes of Huddersfield and Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. Make Old Trafford a place that teams are scared of playing at again.

Why do people think it will be Blanc, he can't speak English and wasn't he quite bad at PSG?
Because there was a report that it would be someone with ties to the club. Giggs, Ole and Quieroz have jobs elsewhere and they probably would not look at the likes of Hughes and Bruce. He is the only one that would make sense with the parameters listed.

If I were doing the sales pitch to Poch, I'd be talking up the fact that the only way is up for United, and he'll have the time and resources to get us back on top, while at Spurs, the only way they've got to go is backwards, particularly if investment takes a hit with the stadium.
Backwards? Best start ever to a premiership season, don’t put you opinion as fact it’s incredably irritating.

Good news. United acting like a big club, and getting him out the door. Give him his money, pack your bags. Leave.

Many of his actions have been nothing short of disgraceful. His public comments about his players were against everything the club stands for. That was unforgivable in my opinion.

I'm glad he has gone.

Who do we think will get the job in the summer? Maybe this rules out Zidane as he's available right now, at least on paper.
If Zidane wants the job, I am sure he doesn't mind taking over now, as long as the Board (and fans) don't set expectation.

I genuinely fear we'll go for a Conte or an Allegri meaning no real change in style

Not entirely sure Zidane would bring attacking football either

I'm betting on Blanc. Club likely thinks he can get a result against PSG.

I actually think he did this on purpose. Maybe after he didnt get his signings - gave up. Maybe tried for a month of new season then did as much damage as he could without it looking totally obvious (like playing a team full of youngsters every week).
He’s clearly been trying to get sacked all season. I bet he’s already agreed a deal with RM or Inter.

Despite Carrick having the greater experience in terms of playing career, McKenna seems more suited based on his greater coaching and managing experience. I thought Kieran would have been chosen as interim for the time being. That being said, although Carrick is named, I suspect training will be done by Kieran, more or less.

He did alright at PSG has decent experience and would likely take the caretaker role and plays decent football. Not saying I’m pro but it makes some sense
