LVG and Mourinho had 'gravitas' and that brought us nowhere. What the club need is a proper coach who can bring these players to their full potential like he did at Monaco.
I really think you need a bit of both ideally.

I’d want Pocchetino but as much as it pains me to admit it, @GlastonSpur comments about him in relation to the hot seat here are on the money. I don’t think he’s a realistic candidate and to be honest I like that, he seems like he’s got a plan and has got behind the idea that he can grow Tottenham into a European powerhouse. He’ll undoubtedly win this poll, but In my opinion he’s the least likely of all those names to actually get the job.

I went for zidane because our group of players need someone who has a great track record (no-one touches zidane the last 3 years) and someone who is-probably still- better than them all at football. He plays a style we will love, and will draw bigger names than any of those other managers would.
agree, plus Madrid will always be his dream job. Zidane the man

Mauricio Pochettino would be the best choice for us especially if we are willing to bring his entire coaching staff along with him as well. Linking him up again with Paul Mitchell by getting him as our Sporting/Technical Director would really be an impressive and effective move. Of course, Zinedine Zidane has to also be considered but if we are wanting to ensure total stability and have an effective transition then following the Mauricio Pochettino route would be the best option.

There is alot of people saying Ole Solskjaer? Yet wouldn't have Eddie Howe? Surely Howe is more experienced for the role and a better choice than Solskjaer? I'm not sure i would have/want either but i am so surprised that Solskjaer would be so popular when his managerial record is so sparse.
Change his name to Edin Van Howe and he'll gain huge popularity amongst online amateur pundits.

One would have to argue well to not put Pocchetino pretty close to the top of that list

I'd like Zidane the most, but there's definitely some reservations with him.

I think his work at Real was fantastic, but I'm not sure regarding his capability to retool a squad.

It amazes me that over 700 people think Poch will leave Spurs to become our next manager. Baffling.

If we get an interim, then the permanent manager will not be Jardim or Zidane. Pretty obvious why that is!

I like Poch, but I have reservations as to whether or not Spurs are that easy on the eye enough. It is an improvement on Jose for sure, but does watching Spurs really set the heart racing? For me Favre's Dortmund side is much more aesthetically pleasing.

Pochettino obviously tops the list.

Zidane and Jardim obviously the other two of the top three candidates.

Favre or Howe would be exciting appointments for sure.

Zidane as DoF with his presence in football and Poch working as a coach. That would be my dream team.

To be honest I think it's more about (at least i hope) getting it right, as in, taking the time to implement thorough changes in the club, including a DoF structure and proper screening for a manager, rather than rushing into a new manager right now

We're still a huge club, we have the aura about us and its a huge job for any manager and the challenge is there... To rebuild us and win us our first title post Fergie.

Whomever achieves it can say that for the rest of their career... They rebuilt United and made us successful again.

Who wouldn't want that on their CV?

We need a manager who:

1. Has been proven to play attacking football whilst being tactically astute.
2. Has not caused rifts in the dressing room or with the board.
3. Can handle the pressure of managing a club such as United.
4. Promotes youth and instills a positive attitude in the club

Who fits all those points? Poch?

Good point. However, I think the club wants a DoF in place before appointing a permanent coach.
I agree. However, I’m pretty sure we’ve already targeted and agreed a DoF who will already have mentioned the coach who we will already have contacted. But I truly believe whoever our DoF is, will be a clear indication as to who our next manager will be. Put it this way, if we get Mitchell, nailed on it’s Poch!

It is a preference/choice poll.
Seems a bit of a pointless one then. I absolutely think that mark zuckerberg should pay me 10 million quid for no reason at all but it won’t happen.

Him becoming our new manager means he’s not a man of his word.

Deep down I hope it is the case. But like I’ve just mentioned in above post, we will already know who our DoF is going to be and pretty sure our next manager. Even Ed isn’t naive enough to have sacked Jose with no plan already in place.

Becoming the first spurs manager in history of any real, continued merit is as big an achievement than resurrecting us IMO.

One thing that I hope people note with Pochettino.

Even if we get him, there’s absolutely no chance Spurs will sell the likes of Kane, Alli or Eriksen to us. Levy will make this procedure as long winded and painful as possible for us, especially after the Berbatov saga where if I remember correctly City put in the higher offer and Spurs accepted, but Berba had his heart set on Utd and we somehow made Levy come round to accepting the lower offer, while sending them Frazier Campbell.

I’m for getting him but I’m wary of the obstacles Levy and Spurs will put in place for us, to the point where we’re paying what will probably be the most for a manager ever, and then Pochettino will have immediate pressure to live up too. He won’t have his Kane, Alli or Eriksen to come with him... no way.

That’s why I’m in the Jardim camp at the moment. Much less money, much less fuss, he’s immediately available in the sense he can quietly work with us or just outright start now and be the new man and to hell with caretakers.... yeah he’s probably risky but everyone’s a risk really even Pochettino.

Remember how some of us convinced ourselves that Moyes at Everton did wonders on a shoestring and bringing through youngsters, and the reason he never won anything was because of that as well as much richer competitors? Yeah about that...
Moyes never finished higher than 4th though, in a year where his Everton side ended up with a negative goal difference and had one of the lowest top four points totals you'll see. Pochettino's consistently been getting top four and was fairly close to the title a couple of years ago.

With all the names listed, it feels like Christmas and you have been told you are getting a wonderful present. I hope we don't open it to find it a pair of woollen underpants that your granny knitted

Long before our time no doubt, but Spurs were once a successful team.

We've not completely lost our appeal and if our board have finally realized the error of their ways and there is some truth in the rumors of a DoF then he may well take the trip up North.
