Brazilian players decline more rapidly than players from any other nation - no Brazilian has been class after turning 30. Argentinians, on the other hand, continue to play at the same level until they are at least 36.

On a similar note, any 90s or early 00s goalkeeper that wore trousers instead of shorts in a match, would be guaranteed make a stupid mistake.
They were either pulling off worldies or making horrendous errors. No inbetween whatsoever.

An outfield player can get praise for an attempt on goal. He will often also get praise even if the attempt does not hit the target. However, a goalie will never recieve praise for almost saving a shot.

The only Manchester United players to ever receive a red card are called Eric.

Refs always give the smaller sides/weaker teams a couple of decisions early on so that they feel justified giving a soft pen late on when the top dog's pushing for a win.

Whenever United start well against the top teams away from home, they lose.

Every single pacey attacker who signs for us becomes -2 slower by default.

We always tend to get corner kicks which should've been goal kicks for the opposite team.

We hardly ever get the stonewall penos we deserve for a few years now.

Crystal Palace are always playing a top 6 team.

On the bench on a struggling PL team you will find one of the Ayew brothers.

Whenever the ball goes near the touch line and it’s 50/50 as to whether it went out or not, it’s always given as out.

Offsides, which when reviewed on TV replay show the attacker to be clearly offside by several feet, will always be described as “tight” by the co-commentator.

Owen Hargreaves hasn’t aged a day since when he was(n’t) playing, while Ryan Giggs went grey overnight after passing Sir Bobby’s appearance record. This leads me to believe that grey hairs are directly linked to minutes played.

Fans of teams from outside the top six can be identified by their booing of Ashley Young every time he touches the ball for a dive he made in the 2011/12 season.

For the entire history of professional football right wingers were far more common than left wingers, until we needed one and suddenly there were only three left in the whole world - all playing for direct rivals.

That’s because in the history of football right wingers were right footed. Now left wingers cut in and are right footed, and right wingers left footed. Hence the very few quality ones in the world.

Watford seem to have a squad of about 40 players. Always a new fecker that starts for them every week, who I've never heard off.

What’s happened to all the left footed left wingers then?

To expand: said player will be of vague Latin descent, with the exact country remaining unclear - joining the likes of Jose Holebas who should be from Latin America or Spain/Portugal, perhaps even Germany, but instead represents Greece. The Watford keeper will always be either Ben Foster or Heurelho Gomes; no one else. Finally, the team will be managed by a dashing European, preferably Mediterranean, who will be fired within a season or two, all without any hard feelings.

The next five fixtures on paper that you mark down as easy and 15 points never amounts to anything but a setback.
The next person who downplays Ole's start should be forced to read this.

Mane feels like a Rodgers buy, while Firmino feels like a Klopp buy.

Brazilians with dumb names (ex. Fred, Bernard, Jo) never amount to much, while ones with awesome names starting with 'R' (ex. Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Romario) are nailed on to succeed. The ones with names that feel like a made-up Scrabble word tend to succeed as well (ex. Pele, Neymar, Cafu, Kaka.)

You couldn't find a genuinely good left winger 10 years back for every team. Nowadays, every team has an amazing inverted winger playing at left wing whereas the right wing is occupied by squad players or grafters.

Not to mention Italians. They hit their prime at least 7 years after players from every other country.

I swear they’ve played Huddersfield 3-4 times this season. I just checked and I kid you not, they’re playing Huddersfield in two rounds.

Every goal Quagliarella scores is some kind of outrageous backheel volley; Joaquin always seems to play a decisive role in an emotion Andalucian derby; Spain, despite being inundated with world class players, always seems to include an again striker in its squad (Villa, Arduriz, etc.)

Also the manager is fired without any press or news release, and the new manager isn’t heard from until the first match of the new season.

So true. Chelsea especially. They could be on a 20 game losing streak and I’d still fancy them to get one over us.

Manchester United always beat Real Madrid in pre-season, but lose to them whenever it matters.

Manchester United has never won a game against Chelsea since abrahimovich took over.
