Even a draw would be enough considering Chelsea and Arsenal play each other next. We need to keep our unbeaten run going for the next 5 games to make up some lost ground.

If anything goes according to plan, this gotta be the easiest lineup prediction in a while.

Hopefully Smalling doesn't make it back for this game. Do people still fail to see the issue? Smalling cannot play with the ball at his feet. If we play Smalling we are forfeiting possession from the get go. It is like playing with 10 men. He never makes himself available and spreads nervousness. This is just a fact. He is our best defender. Fact. But he isnt good enough on the ball to be in our starting 11 and should be moved on. We wont get anywhere trying to play out against Spurs press using Smalling.
Im sure Spurs players will be glad to see Jones back after his wonderful finish for them in the reverse fixture.

Do you not remember Jones's calamitous performance the last time we played spurs? He was directly responsible for both goals (including an OG).

Going for us to win it 1-4. They'll start the match in dominating fashion, score a goal which we''ll react to and equalise, then the tide of the match will turn and we''l put in a dominating performance that will send shockwaves to the rest of the league.

That Spurs long ball after a few minutes played that Jones timed totally wrong, I cringed while watching it.

You can almost guarantee Jones will feck up against Spurs attack. He got away with a lot against Reading in the FA cup

Massive game, can't lose this. 3 points puts us right into it considering Chelsea/Arsenal's upcoming fixtures.

Winning this game would keep momentum going in a big way.

    Lads, it's Spurs...

Beat these and we can even gain on Chelsea next week.

After only five games, I believe Ole already knows his best starting XI. Not necessarily in terms of ability, but balance, which is key to winning games.

    Think the team will be:

    De Gea
    Young Lindelof Jones Shaw
    Herrera Matic
    Lingard Pogba
    Rashford Martial

Romero Darmian Valencia Fellaini Fred Sanchez Lukaku

Arsenal result makes this very close to a must win.
Actually, the Arsenal result gives us a little breathing room. Even if we lose, we're still only three points behind them with a very difficult game out of the way.

Hopefully Sanchez just arrives separately from the group otherwise it doesn’t make any sense.

Tbh, Arsenal are irrelevant, and must be removed from our vision. We are not chasing Arsenal, we are chasing Chelsea.

English must be a bitch to learn.
There are people who have been born/bred in England and can't speak or write English properly.
And these people do not like it when their mistake is corrected. Rather than learning from the person who has taken the time to correct them, they get defensive, but refuse to learn from their mistake.

    Some common mistakes are lose/loose, your/you're, were/where, their/there/they're.

I shall tell you all this: there is nothing wrong with making errors and mistakes. There is however, everything wrong with making the same mistake, repeatedly and refusing to learn from it.
How do people expect to improve their overall knowledge-base, if they refuse to learn from their own mistakes?

That was the old Jose-style of play (ie. we only start playing when we are losing).
Under Ole, I don't think that has happened.

I'm still worried that Ole will start playing Lukaku (as a starter), with Rashford off the bench. The huge price which was paid for Lukaku won't be ignored and will be taken into consideration during team selections.

Our 2nd will be a multi-passing team goal that will put the recent Martial one to shame. He won't feel to bad though as he'll score it. The third will be a Rashford Bicycle kick.

It's also the old United way as well, you score one, we'll score 4.

As much as I want us to win, I doubt we'll be able to keep spurs from scoring with our defence. I hope we try to control the game, play on the front foot and no hoofing nonsense, for me that would would be big progress and of course a win or a draw would make it even better.

It's weird being nervous and excited at the same time.

Mediocre back 4. W'ere going to concede 1 or 2 so let's hope we can score 3 if we want to win this.

I think this will be a tight game with 1 goal either way. Our ‘crap’ defenders sometimes step up. I think we will win but it will be hard. I hope the game is good, this weekend’s footy has been horrible.

It won’t. If you’ve actually been paying attention since he came in you’d see that he absolutely loves Rashford and bigs him up at every opportunity.

You're aware at how bad our defence has been really, right? Even Reading cut through us multiple times. We don't need both defenders to bring the ball out.

Smalling had Kane in his pocket last season, even the FA Cup twitter stated so and got abused for it from Spurs

No we are chasing 4th. It’s Chelsea we are challenging.
Understand we are chasing 4th but as I am sure you know, both Arsenal and Chelsea are still above us.
I would love to ignore Arsenal but not until we have got well past them.

Ole loves Rashford. If Lukaku is to start, we'll probably see Martial on the bench.

    Aren't we chasing both?
Nah, not really. Ourselves and Arsenal are both chasing Chelsea. If Arsenal were to move ahead of Chelsea, then we can worry about them, but all we need to concern ourselves with is how far or near we are from 4th place. 5th doesn’t matter. If we kept gaining on Arsenal (due to them being shit), but drifting from Chelsea, because they are picking up more points than us - we’ve done nothing.

I will play Fellaini up front with either Martial or Rashford. Just to play with the head of Poch. Get the high ball in and scare the daylights out of their defence. By the time Poch realises what has happened we could have two or three chances to score. It is ugly I agree but I do not care how we win there matches.

Kane, Ali, Son... and to a slightly lesser extent Erikksen.. these guys are quality, influential, clinical. However, the Spurs midfield, I think we can dominate, IF the three play well, and give them something to think about. Rashford, I simply look forward to, because his attitude and approach is infectious, and he makes things happen. He keeps going, trying, and I love that. It is whoever play alongside him, that's where I feel (and fear a bit...) that the differences in the sides may be highlighted.
Surprised at that. iMo eriksen is their best player
