One year is logical and makes sense.
Agreed, means we don't have to buy another RB and we can give Dalot more time to develop without throwing him in the deep end. Some might not be happy but I think it's good business by the club.

Good news. We'll need him for cover next year with Valencia and Darmian leaving.

No doubt we'll still be buying a full back in the summer.

Probably the right decision. As long as Valencia, Rojo and Darmian follow Fellaini out the door.

Ashley Young is close to agreeing a new one-year contract with United.
I understand why he is being brought back, but I sincerely hope it is as a squad player, not captain/first choice rightback

I am more interested about De Gea, Rashford, Herrera and Pogba. We need to give them new contracts, they are the spine of our team.

He's fine as a backup and apparently a good presence in the dressing room so it makes sense. He'll likely be captain or at the very least vice-captain if Valencia leaves in the summer, but I doubt he'll get a lot of minutes next year, unless our new RB will be awful/if we fail to sign one.

I'm sick of the sight of Young, I hope it's just as LB cover for Shaw and we are getting a proper starting RB.

I'm happy to keep Young as long as he maintains his current performances under Ole. He's great for the dressing room too. Good chance for Dalot to develop. Still hope to see Tierney come in the summer to improve the left though. A bit disappointed we didn't get a cb but I guess it was always unlikely. I do still feel we're missing squad depth on the rw. When Jesse isn't in the team we don't look anywhere near as good.

You have issues mate. Why so much hate on here today?
What? I have issues because I am sick of seeing a bang average, aging winger as our starting RB? No, that's just common sense, and I think most here are plenty happy today with the Martial and fellaini news so I don't what you're on about.

Look forward to seeing Tielemans in the league and how he does. Love seeing the brightest talents in our league

Tielemans has to be the most overrated talent in world football. He hadn't shown enough to warrant the praise even before leaving Anderlecht and he's been absolutely awful for Monaco. I'm intrigued to see if he can actually start producing in a good league at a level that justifies half the praise he gets

You can't replace 11 players in 1 year. Start with Rojo, Darmian, Pereira and Valencia, who offer nothing. Add Fellaini and that's a lot of wages and spots in the squad. 5 additions in 1 year should be possible.
My list was as much an easy pick list, as anything. I think you could change that much if you did it over January and the Summer, especially if you are replacing with fresh talent.

But you are right it's a lot and balancing that out you would probably hold on to Lukaku for another year if you can keep him happy.

Young could be worth another year for his wise head with winning experience, still decent energy and fairly utilitarian like use. Darmian for all the critique is actually a half decent backup option who can play multiple positions and probably not at and outrageous cost.

I'd love to have Mata for his personality, but you cant spend over £100k a week just for that and I'm not sure he has anything on the pitch any more.

Aa with all these things it really comes down to who wants your players and at what price. If a club didn't want to pay Sanchez more than £150k and without a transfer fee we would be left having to subsidise the £200k extra in his salary and of that's the case and that extra money is sunk you'd be better of keeping him.

If someone would take him on a free and pay his demands I'd say let him go. Don't think it would have anything other than a positive impact on the team given his limited input.

I think the 11 I mentioned would be fairly low risk to flip out with new players.

Fred is one you probably need to give more time to and maybe Perriera.

As long as Young only gets 1 year I'm happy about it. Valencia, Rojo and Darmian all should be leaving in the summer. Getting rid of Young as well would leave us with only Shaw and Dalot as full back options.

We can't afford to be bringing in 2 full backs, a CB, a CM, a RW and a DM all in the same summer.

Expect us to sign 4 players in the summer so this frees one up to be used elsewhere.
