He was. Lingard was below par, certainly, but Sanchez was abysmal. Literally all he did all game was lose possession and get beaten to the ball.Wasn't worse than Lingard.
Hoofball? Didn't see much of that today. Longer passes when under pressure, but it was a tight game.Important 3 points but not a good performance. Sloppy, careless, tired…
I'm worried that after the first few weeks we seem to be drifting further away from possession based, attacking football, we seem to be resorting to hoofball more and more. I'd like to think that's down to fatigue stepping in but I'm curious how much of the attacking possession based football early on was down to McCarrick, since Ole himself said he haven't had much time to make his own adjustments early on.
Half chances, but nowhere near as good as what we created in the first halfMaybe 2 or 3.
Yeah that's true.Think they will be tired because Ole now realises that he cannot rotate much. Just doesn't have decent options to come in.
I think we have to even if we are racking up wins.. we look like we are on our last legs and the results aren’t quite mirroring the performances which is never a good thing (we should learn this lesson from previous regimes). Not the best time to introduce them right now.
83.5 first halfI wonder what our pass percentage was. Expect less than 80%.
Completely agree. He was bad but objectively so many of the team were bad and some were definitely worse. He just gets unfairly viewed through tinted glasses now.No chance by the way does Sanchez deserve to be the lowest rated player today.
Young and Lingard were worse for a start.
I thought we won.Mourinho-esque.
Agreed. They huffed and puffed but generally they weren't dangerous.Half chances, but nowhere near as good as what we created in the first half
Leicester away is a tough game. They’ve proved that this season. To say we were shite is ridiculous. You can’t win every game by a canter.
They taken points off of City, Chelsea and Liverpool recently. Have some perspective.
Saying that, a few individuals were sub par that’s for sure. I don’t see a future here for Sanchez. Lukaku needs to up his workrate, he was only on for a few minutes and refuses to chase balls down.
I am not sure how you failed to see Young had a worse game than Sanchez. He was expose throughout the game and offer nothing going forward. Sanchez at least make constructive runs.Don't know why you pick on Young. Sanchez was the worse, Lingard disappear after 60th. Matic slept between 46-50 but made up for his error afterwards. Young put in fair share of effort. Only Pogba and Herrera were fighting from start to finish.
Too many times we started our attack with DDG aiming towards Pogba with the long-ball, rather than keeping it on the ground and building from the back.Hoofball? Didn't see much of that today. Longer passes when under pressure, but it was a tight game.
There was still loads of tight interplay.
Bad work on our fitness in preseason. Totally at odds with how Ole wants us to play. I don't think you can improve this too much in the middle of the season. We were out on our feet for most of the second half. Completely out of gas. I wonder if Ole's pressing game is draining our energy.
There's no excuse for Lukaku though, who had the movement of a sloth in hibernation when he came on. Pathetic.
Shit win but I'll take it. It's what the likes of Liverpool and Spurs are doing in abundance this season anyway.
Ultimately the game hinged on two factors that could've made this a lot more comfortable: the Rashford sitter earlier on and Mike Dean wearing Mendy-tinted spectacles resulting him missing at least three sendings off.
Big improvement needed for Fulham.
But missed their guy taking Pogba out off the ball.Special mention to Mike Dean who managed to find 8 yellow cards in that game
Yep, that game could have gone another hour and they still wouldn't have scored. Evans had a United shirt under his jersey today. We weren’t at the races, but I don’t see what Leicester did to earn anything out of the game.
