Atletico can be boring and cnutish, but feck me, when they attack and press you you just can't handle them.

Zinchenko, City's only "youth" graduate to grace the green fields apparently thinks he's very tough. Must be all that radiation growing up.
What a stupid comment. Hope for your sake there's no red's from Ukraine on here. People died in Chernobyl.

well deserved victory for athletico. took the more risks and pushed harder to score. juve lucky to get away with 2-0 in the end. I don't put a comeback past them but that was very poor.

Atletico got done by Morata disallowed goal, still scored twice after. Character. Like the Arsenal game last year. Are Juventus a worse team with Ronaldo? Dybala seemingly suffering the most.

Anyone but Rashford
Schalke are one of the worst sides to ever reach this stage of the competition. I mainly watched the other game but I turned over at 2-1 with an extra man and they were playing like cowards. They shouldn’t get a second leg. Remove them.

Atletico-Juve was a great. Scrappy at times but tense as feck and high in quality. Atletico aren’t losing by two goals. Godin is the best CB in the world and the BBC aren’t what they were. Hope they win it.

The Atletico - Juve game played oyt as I expected. If you watch Juventus in Serie A; you would see that they're still comfortably behind the very top teams in Europe even with the acquisition of Ronaldo. Most of their victories seem laboured even at their own ground. They never play good football and usually grind out the opposition or rely on individual brilliance to see them through. They have no "identity" so were always going to be found out at this level.

Agree with you.
It would take a Herculean performance from Juve and Ronaldo as a whole for them to do this and they need a first half goal.

My prediction ? Ronaldo gets knocked out in the first KO round. Juve are too defensive and that midfield is god awful.

Juve are really under performing in the CL. They lost to us under a Mourinho side that was in decline and now they get dominated by Atletico Madrid with not many clear chances.

I wish I had bet on that. City to win was 16/1 after the sending off, probably higher as it went by!

Juve was just garbage!

Definitely too defensive. Ronnie looked quite ineffective as well in this set up. Allegri definitely a bit too passive imho.

Where are we going to hide if City win the CL and Liverpool win the league? I'm going to book a vacation to Antarctica so that the internet waves don't hit me for a while.

It’s hindering his play for sure. I never liked allegri as a coach.

Dortmund beat Atletico 4-0 at home earlier on in the season so not ruling out Juventus yet. Atletico won't score at Juventus stadium.

You know what will be so funny about this forum in about 2 weeks ? If Ronaldo and Juve get eliminated he won’t here the end of it “ oh this is why he’s second best and blah blah blah” yet the amount of people who defended Messi for getting rinsed by Roma was incredible. I cant wait to see the double standard.

People will always be biased and have their favourites, what's wrong with that?

Crazy how UCL proves how overrated EPL is
Pretty sure most people on here are aware that La Liga win most CL/ELs, and English fans know the “best league in the world” marketing for the Premier League is just that. Marketing. So who are you talking to that overrates the PL?

You lot do the exact same thing when the roles are reversed. How do the main contributors of a 500 page thread still not realize both sides are guilty of the same thing:lol:

Messi fans twist stuff to defend Messi, Ronaldo fans do the same for Ronaldo. It's called being a fan. Embrace your faults, it makes us human.

I’m saying the double standard compared to when Messi lost will be laughable. They were posts and posts and posts defending him. I bet the same will not happen with CR7

Yes, that's true. But knockout stages are a completely different story. The level of competitive tension is much higher for Atletico now and they feel very comfortable when they have to defend a result.

I’ve probably written in that thread a maximum of 20x.

Is this Schalke side worse then the one that made it to the semis in 2010-2011?

Seems a few need reminding....never write off Atletico Madrid in a two leg knock out tie.

Unless they're playing Real Madrid of course.

So Messi has more admirers in here, again nothing wrong with that.
