Agree with NBC, Lingard had no business being on the bench if he cant even l ast 20mins. Can't see how this is on Ole, his job is to put the best players for the job.

Feck. What a mess but a chance for some of our younger/fringe players to make a mark. McTominay has been ok considering the entire midfield had been shuffled around.

I'll probably regret this but Liverpool have been shit. Utter wank for title contenders. The longer the match stays bitty & disjoined the better I think.

Sanchez to pop up with a wonder goal to win it?

Well if Liverpool don't win the league after having that much luck against us they never will.

I'm happy with how we have defended so far, just need Young to not lose the ball.

I'm worried though that Fabinho will drift forward in the second half and score.

Pogba will create a few chances for us before the game is out. Just need Lukaku and Sanchez to play for their futures at the club.

Rotten luck. Bizarre the amount of players hurt in that half.

Shame Lingard couldn’t put that chance away before he departed.

McTominay was quite good given the circumstances, Pereira less so. Lukaku more useful than usual

What are the odds on one of the Liverpool players (Henderson or Milner would be my bet) purposely injuring one of our players, knowing we cannot replace them?
Milner probably won't do it as he is on the yellow but Henderson is apparently immune to yellows so he will be on it for sure.

Yeah, the injuries suck, but we still have our first choice defence, Pogba, Rashford, and two mega signings in Alexis and Lukaku.

Obviously it's a big drop off in quality compared to the usual, but, bar Scott and Andreas, they're all on big money, have big reputations, and need to show they're worth the money and hype.

I don't know if that matters though. It was probably planned for him to be eased back in with 30 min to go. That's a precaution that's taken when players are coming back.
Ultimately it’s up to the player to relay how much he feels he can play. If he’s told Ole he’s only fit to play half an hour but Ole went against that, then it’s Ole’s fault.

Then I’d still turn it back on the club. It isn’t the job of the player to assess their injuries. That’s what we have a medical staff for.
Even after all that the management still ask players if they feel up to playing. The final decision rests with the player.

Some mind boggling subs. Pereira for Herrara and Lingard for Mata. Fred and Sanchez should have been on instead.

I have never seen anything like this. It's madness. It's clearly had a huge effect on our gameplan and this will continue for the second half. Rashford is looking half the player due to an injury as well. I'm concerned for how this second half will go now.

How do we even know it is the same injury? Medical staff will have assessed and passed him to play.
Exactly. He seemed fine until he went round the keeper. I’d imagine he hurt himself at that stage.

I wonder whether he even did a warm up?

The fact that they have lost firminho limits their build up play plus milner instead of slick players like keita is very good for us. We need to score before klopp comes to his senses and brings on keita or any attacking midfielder.

You know, Jessie was likely injured again in the attack when the keeper made contact. He could have suffered an injury there if he had not been previously injured. He might well have been fit to play, and might stil be playing without that contact.

How many fouls does Henderson need to make to get a yellow card btw? The ref is having a shocker today.
Yeah, he's fouling and mouthing off all the fecking time.

We need to target Milner, too. A second yellow would be great.

I can't remember seeing 4 players go off injured in an entire game let alone the first half. Liverpool have made a lot of snide fouls but nothing you would typically think are dangerous.

The lads actually haven't been bad, McTominay has been excellent. My main concern is Rashford, if his is just a painful knock and he is able to get through it then I actually think we have a good chance to get a win here.

Smalling and Lindelöf need the game of their lives in the 2nd half. I can see Liverpool going for broke, we need to hang tough and hope for a point.

Lingard should have hit that first time IMO.

Lukaku has been involved in 2 or 3 decent moments but just doesn't provide to much else and is invisible when we don't have the ball.

Both teams can play better. Hopefully Rashford feels ok after the 15 mins break as he has looked decent when in possesion!

It was a calculated risk , he tried and it did not come off , its not like other managers have not done it before , SAF did it plenty of times and it never came off.
Dont see anything to worry about !
I don't think it was calculated risk to risk a player who's been injured 15m into the game. And not like the player is fecking Messi. In the 20m he's been on the pitch he's been able to miss our best chance and get injured. Yeah and waste a substitute.

Personally I think it's a worry. Alexis did more positive in the 5 minutes on the pitch then Jesse did in 20.

Yeah. Feels like top four might be lost now just because of injuries. Ole has had a lot of luck so far on that front
That my friend, is exactly the reason why we should have bought in some back up players in January.
Chelsea wanted top 4, so got Higuain.
MUFC, wanted top 4, but decided to save money.
