Not to be nagging but we're now in March of 2019.
Yes, but I think it's quite clear which of Madrid's players was the big difference maker at that team. Modric was great and had a good world cup, but international tournaments almost always result in silly individual awards and huge transfer fees for that outstanding left back who played a good game for Trinidad and Tobago and is subsequently never heard from again.

Why do people keep saying the losing side in the last 16 drop into the Europa?

Had a brain fart. Some noob quoted that Madrid would be in the Europa League and I weirdly didn’t twig that this was the last 16.

Thought Madrid were going into EL and may have to face Arsenal.

I fecked up.

I wonder if Ramos would have made any difference, on the other hand he's probably glad he didn't play tonight.
As a player probably not, but it summed up their attitude to the game and them thinking it was all over.

Dortmund have won trophies in the last 10 years. How many have Spurs won? None.
I'm sure it'd kill you to give Spurs any credit for beating Dortmund 4 - 0 over two legs and reaching the CL QFs. Your lamentations that Spurs go marching on is palpable.

Great result for Ajax, and deservedly so.

Bet a lot of people are thinking now they'd love to face them in the QFs should their team get there, myself included.
I think after tonight, they would be a side I'd like to avoid. Fearless and momentum plays a big part and they have it in abundance. If I was any side I'd be thinking either the winner from Porto-Roma or Spurs I'd fancy ahead of Ajax

I doubt anyone is particularly bothered with Spurs winning their first knockout tie in 5 or 6 years.

Will be hilarious to see Spurs drop out of top 4 though and considering 1 point out of 9 in the last three games it’s quite likely.

I understand what you aiming at but I feel that everyone is sleeping on impact Zidane had.

I knew there'd be some people bigging them up after this, but really, they're not a great side by any stretch of the imagination - they recently conceded 6 against Feyenoord for example. I know they're a good side with lots of confidence at the moment, but come on, everyone would love to face a team of their calibre in the QFs of the Champions League.

Winner of Porto-Roma is a good shout as well though, yeah.

Will be hilarious to see United dumped out of the CL tomorrow.

Well not a big deal really, we recognize PSG are a superior team and we are without half of our first team anyone so nobody has high hopes for that anyway. But sure, take every little joy you may have in your life.

The effect of Spurs missing a year of CL in their first season at new stadium will be much bigger than United getting knocked out of CL at a stage Spurs have passed twice in their entire history.

I'll give your lot all the credit you deserve when you end up sixth in a 3 horse title race.

Funny to see Glaston so bullish about Spurs teaching QFs for the second time in their CL history when we have as many trophies as they have quarterfinals and more finals than they have knockout games.

Well, because it actually will be after you blabbered for months about how superior Spurs team is. All it took for United was a competent manager to get ourselves to at least the same if not higher level.

It’s hardly comparable to a team with six first team players out not making up a deficit nobody has ever came back from, against a clearly superior team.

Glaston seems to think stuff like getting a round further that Club X( usually United) is a big achievement.

FFS. It's meaningless unless you win it.

Um no it won't. You've already bottled it and fecked up your season...the perennial bottlers. Anything OGS does this season is a bonus for all realistic and level-headed United fans.

Considering where we were when that joker left, we're very happy.

Spurs on the other hand....

Apart from that nonchalant slip up, Frenkie de Jong was fecking amazing today. Dutch tv just showed his highlights. Crazy good.

Do you think Spurs have what it takes to win the CL?
I think we have a chance. As in all cup competitions a lot depends on the draw. If we get Porto/Roma or Ajax then the chances of reaching the SF are good IMO. I wouldn't mind PSG or Bayern either.

If we do get to the SFs then who knows, anything can happen in football, especially when you have the world's best striker on your team and hopefully Alli back.

If you get PSG you will be in India within two days from the second leg of that game.
