As harsh as it sounds, I think a points deduction is probably the best course of action in terms of a deterrent. Realistically there is only so much a club can do to stop this so it would be harsh but idiots like this won't care about a big fine for their club.

Wasn't one of the stewards involved too later on, or was that fake news?
not sure about that as it's not clear from the video. But I do think stewards in general should not be old folk who can't run or are too involved in the match as is often seen by guys in yellow vests waving their arms but that's it.

I do think the steward thing is a big issue. we can't expect police to provide 100 odd for each match but i'd expect stewards perhaps from now on to be athletic, perhaps martially art trained so when idiots do come on the pitch

Do cretins like that know that a professional pro could deck them with a single kick?

Probably one of those drunk, unfit idiots who gets his ass kicked when in mid/eastern Europe by fit as butcher's dog, tee total hools. Then comes back from his trip and seeks for somebody who can't defend himself.

That fecker who tweeted the pic of Grealish’s brother’s headstone...
How in the name of god has Twitter not taken down his account yet? He's still making fun of this incident and it's nearly 8 hours since the match has finished.

Looks like big Baz, one of the old zulus back in the day is meeting up with him for a chat so hopefully he sees that he has made a big mistake and will apologise.

There's no way that Twitter account is the same guy. Nobody can be that thick, surely?
He's thick enough to reveal your parents address on Twitter so I wouldn't put anything past him.

I feel for his parents more than anything else, they don't deserve what's coming there way.

He is. To be fair, he initially asked the lad to contact him and spend some time doing community style work (which Baz is involved in) but he didn't grab the lifeline, then carried on being sickish so....

Also had numerous reports to police, his Uni stated, his home address published and his Uni lodgings address published.

Either he's got huge cojones, an idiot or a fake account.

Someone on here mentioned (Pogue?) that if a player would punch him he'd be red carded by the ref. The rules really need changing if that's the case. One thing is running onto the pitch, but at the slightest hint of aggression I think players should be allowed to do whatever they can to defend themselves.

What a coward - I hope one of the villa players gave him a good punch in the mouth
Would never happen in this generation unfortunately.
Now if this was 20/30 years ago.....
He would be picking up his teeth out of someones knuckles.
Could only imagine if he had done that to one of our players when Keano was still playing.

There needs to be some serious consequences for stuff like this, and not just for the fan. Tyler and Neville were discussing this after the Smalling-incident in our game. Not sure how best to go about this, but probably some sort of heavy financial penalty on the club in addition to the obvious life-time ban for the fan.

I know, we live in different times now. Back in the day even Clough was punching up pitch invaders

Good job the guy at The Emirates took on Chris Smalling, could you imagine if it was Marcos Rojo. Don't think he would have been as placid. They have to do something or one day it will be someone with a knife. All the stuff going on in Scotland. It is getting scary.

These people know who to pick on - they go for the soft ones unfortunately. Arsenal should ban him for life and give him a hefty fine!

He’s 27?

He’ll probably get 6 months inside and a lifetime football ban. This doesn’t happen often so I don’t think there’s much need for panic. Coincidence that it’s happened a few times this week but I don’t think there’s much need for points deductions and such
