United look like suckers for not resigning him. He’s a goalscoring machine 99m plus withever wages for 3 years of Ronaldo is completely worth it. Just don’t get why United didn’t go all out for him you can easily afford it and his commercial appeal is obvious.
It made no sense for Ronaldo to go to United at this time of his career.

It also didn’t really make sense for United to go for him given the circumstances the team was in. Better to spend that money on improving the team overall rather than get a player like him at 34 years old.

We missed a lot of top attacking players under mourinho. Also who would have known he was indeed moving after we just got Sanchez on big money 6 months earlier.
Sanchez actually turned out to be a more expensive purchase than Ronaldo would have been. He’s earning only under £10M less per year and has done barely anything of note. Not to mention, he doesn’t bring even 1% of Ronaldo’s marketing potential and worldwide attention. Imagine the media frenzy and huge coverage United would have gotten if he actually re-signed. It would have been like the return of the Prodigal’s son. Moreover, at 34,he’s in better condition than a 30 year old Sanchez as he has been able to retain his speed and acceleration somewhat.

You are right but Ronaldo does earn more than that. Ronaldo earns 31m a year at Juventus vs Sanchez 16.8m at United.

I read from multiple places that Sanchez was on around £21m or so or is that completely wrong?

Depends how you measure it. Sanchez earns 350k a week after tax, Ronaldo earns around 600k a week after tax.

Here's another source comparing top footballer's salary in months:

https://totalreporter.com/highest-paid-footballers-2019-list/

Ronaldo salary is nearly double of Sanchez.

Another interesting note, Messi earns by far the highest salary, follow by Ronaldo. But Ronaldo earns staggering amount of money from endorsement, which kinds of evens out.

Greatest of all time.

He just performs when it matters. If you put him in our side we’d have a chance at the champions league.

Thanks, it’s clearer now. I guess I was mostly looking at figures before tax.

I think his goal scoring has taken away the praise to how good he is in the ball. He always seems to pick out the right pass too.

Agree. He was involved in the build up to the penalty with the way he was able to control Kean’s header we’ll with his chest while under pressure in his own half and then play a well timed ball to Bernardeschi who then did the rest of the hard work in driving forward before being tripped for the pen.

One of the best big game players ever, and with one of the strongest winning mentalities. Always coming up with goals in the big games and even won something with Portugal.

His dribbling and physical decline has made him a more cerebral player imo.

He knows his limitations now and it's benefited him and the team lately.

He still does that occasionally. For example, last match he has made 5 successful dribble against Atletico, the highest no. out of any player on the pitch. But sure the way he plays now is very different from his physical peak, where he's basically everywhere, posing strong threats with sheer pace/skill/athleticism, and running at defenders non-stop. And at age of 34, he probably won't score 50-60 goals in every season too. But he will have his clutch moments, will still score plenty of goals, crucial goals, and winning trophies.

United fans are delusional when it comes to resigning Ronaldo. He would not in a million years choose us over Juventus last year. You do not attract that level of player without being the best in your league and one of the best in Europe.

I won't be surprised if he ended up top scorer of the CL again this season. Currently lewandowski is leading with 8 , followed by the trio of Messi, Marega (Porto), Tadic all on 6. ronaldo has 4.

Me too. Not sure why people can’t come here and say he had a good performance without the GOAT shit.

Just saw a celebration pic from Juve dressing room and this guy had his clothes (other than his underpants) on.
This can't really be happening.

Do you also go to Messi Vs Ronaldo thread and get a headache reading the OTT opinions about both players.

It really hit me last night when he tried to take 2 defenders on. He looked like running in sand, kinda sad in a way. But he just lives for the big game

Did I just imagine it or have they cut him out of the equal game advert with Messi and Pogba?

Nah, with the way Juventus play he’s going to have a tough time finishing with most CL goals this season. Messi upto 8 now

A few sources in Italy & Spain are saying Ronaldo is potentially at risk of a ban after imitating Simeone's "cojones" celebration. Of course it's stupidly unlikely to happen, but really now, if it's even been considered by UEFA, then it's fecking stupid.

Edit: I should've read the other source first  Turns out it's Spanish media calling for it, & UEFA seemingly have no open file on it. My bad. Petty bollocks all the same.

Behind the scenes with Evra and Ronaldo.
Of course he sends random selfies. Of course. Who needs face emojis?

The context of those messages are quite insane given the timing of them. Supreme mentality and confidence:
Behind the scenes... these are messages between me and @cristiano, 5 days before the massive comeback!!!

You really can't fault his mentality one bit. There's a fine line between arrogance & confidence (which rubs some people the wrong way), but really, he's clearly the kind of guy who thinks anything is possible, and if you tried to convince him otherwise, he'd do anything to prove you wrong.

Unfortunately or fortunately, you are insufferable; you can also go to the messi thread where your other fanboys are.
Damn! I'm sick and tired of this kind of people...

Can't remember who told the story about him getting decked at table tennis then coming back after the holidays having practiced and practiced to get revenge.
The man has elite mentality. He wasn't born to be ordinary at anything.

Has to be Rio or Evra. They always tell us story about Ronaldo.
