I really don't understand this 6th place is our usual place.
Haven't we only finished 6th once in 30 odd years and we won the Europa League and league cup that year?

Liverpool (and Arsenal) fans project themselves onto United because of jealousy. This idea that we are in the same malaise as Liverpool in the 90s is objectively false. It took them a decade to win 3 trophies post-Kenny, something we accomplished in 4 years post-SAF. Arsenal fans love talking about us chasing the top 4 trophy like them, yet we do it by winning the EL.

They carry on as if it was us who haven't won a league in 30 years.
Their arrogance, despite winning nothing and being 2nd in a 2 horse race, convinces me that we should throw the derby.
The thought of a scouser with something tangible to crow about, has brought me round.
Here's to another 30 years.

They've signed him up because they think romantically and see signs everywhere.

It's exactly 20 years since his last gasp goal won them the European Cup, and he's the manager. It's a sign

They won that cup on 'that night in Barcelona' and they play Barcelona next in the same competition. It's a sign.

When Chelsea sacked a manager and gave the job to one of their old boys with no experience, he took them to a CL victory. It's a sign

When they used to struggle in games Solksjaer used to come on as a late substitute and win it for them. Now he's come on as a late substitute manager to save their season. It's a sign.

And no doubt there are others, too.

They believe in fate, and think it's fate that he is here right now, when they need him, as always, and that the same fate will take them to glory again.

Many clubs have tried this romantic, fateful, Messiah-based approach before, and few, if any, have succeeded. Winning things at the top of the game needs a clear-vision and a hard-headed approach, not something akin to astrology.

Ah nothing like a Liverpool fan to teach us about not living in the past and even better about winning the PL. Next I'll be going to see my mate who works in Tesco to ask him about the lump on my leg.

Cringe. This guy is projecting his own sentimentalism (and what seems like an obsession with united) onto us. He’s been hired because he’s earned it, simple as that. To remove him now with no clearly better choice is a massive and unnecessary risk that would piss of the players and the fans and put huge pressure on the next guy.

Would be amazing in the few years if we win UCL, PL and other trophies while Liverpool hasn't won anything, Klopp off to Bayern then I come to see an old page like this, I'd be laughing.

I don't really know why they are so confident that they will match or become even better next season, they will surely be a top side but the strongest performances from them came at the end of last season and early on this one.

I don't think they will fall off but if they fail to win this year again its gonna be difficult to get even better next year again.
If they fail to win anything and lose a few players the wheels could definitely fall off

I could see his time in charge at United being pretty similar to Liverpool under Evans, where they play decent football and come very close to success but are never quite good enough.
Sounds like Liverpool under Klopp actually.

Since Ole has arrived we have 1 more point than them from 1 less game, they're idiots.
I read that on the BBC website too. How thick can you get. Maybe they should be saying, since Ole arrived Utd have been in the same form as Liverpool.

It's because of the memes that rang out that season when we went on a 26 league match unbeaten run under Jose and remained 6th throughout. So now people just associate 6th with us annoyingly enough.

The last time they were so smug about our manager was when Paddy Power put a 'David Moyes Liverpool Hero' statue outside of Shitfield and they were taking selfies with the said statue.

Remember what happened next?

Who cares what them rabid feckers think, seriously?

This is a club that hasn’t won a trophy since 2012. Against Cardiff. On pens.

They’re bottlers when it counts. They need to worry about themselves.

In fairness a lot of those comments are very valid. There is a real lack of evidence hiring Solskjaer will work out.

They’d say the same about Pochettino or whoever else we appointed. They say we’re shit when we’re good. There has never been anything positive said about Utd over there. It’s not a discussion forum it’s a Liverpool FC propaganda machine. At RAWK, Liverpool are always the best team with the best players who get done over by the refs. Utd are always shit. Always. Even in 2008 after Moscow we were “shit” despite winning the double. Scholes was overrated. Allison is better than De Gea. Klopp is the best manager in the world despite only winning two titles in a shite German league. Giggs was crap. Evra was a liar. Fergie was an average manager who brainwashed refs and the media into letting us win. All Utd fans come from London despite tonnes of 1980s glory hunting scouse cnuts being from Basildon and Oslo. Look at our very own forums, do we actually have a Liverpool fan that’s from Liverpool?

They’re a cult, they’re insecure mentalists over there. The whole of the footballing side of the internet laughs at rawk, even the Liverpool sites.

Always, always take their ‘opinion’ with a huge pinch of salt. They’re incapable of saying anything positive about Utd because the mods will ban them.

Glorious. I still don't understand how he both took a terrible touch AND slipped. Useless overrated prick.

Closet United fan?
Nope, just regular old Stevie G, thinking of probably lobbing Cech from distance before he has the ball in control.

Seems like he might have meant to let it go to turn and go up the other side. Terrible awareness, or both terrible touch and awareness either way. Also hilarious either way. Couldn't have been more perfect that he did it.
