Ole is trying to get the best out of De gea by selecting his Amigos. Mata and Herrera .

Mata played centrally may well finally provide the through balls for Rashford and Lukaku to run on to and score from, and bring full-backs into play higher up the pitch. He has been consistently misused as a right sided attacker for years, but he's a beautiful number 10. Let's see if he can remember the role.

That's.. Not a confidence inspiring line up. I don't like it.

Happy to see Herrera back, I think we've really missed him. If I remember right he tends to have slow starts when hes put back in the side though.

Speaks volumes that marital is benched for a key game and barely a mention. What a difference 6 months make.

Think it's weird seeing Bailly back in there but getting a bit tiring reading the hysterics to every line-up. We don't have any bloody stars in the squad bar Dave and perhaps Pogba. Most of the names people mention (why's X not playing instead?!) are just as shite as anyone else.
Generally, you're right, but having Matic, Mata and Bailly in the same team really is asking for trouble. The former two are slow as feck while Bailly is prone to incredible stupidity. Add Young to that and we can look forward to some delightful shite again.

But true, it's not like the dropped players have any reason to complain.

They are young and fit and no one is expecting them to play. But off the bench in the last 20 minutes they could be more effective if we need a goal than anyone we now have on the bench
    No, just no.

When Mata plays well, he's usually one of our best players. Does no harm to remember that - aside from the fact most of our forward players are stinking the place up currently (so who gives a feck?).
Had to change something I suppose. We cannot continue like we have.

Has anyone considered that Ole might have a better idea with what's going on with the players than any of us do? People bitching and moaning at every line-up like we're benching superstars for no good reason.

It’s basically the team that won at Chelsea, bar our first choice keeper and an enforced change at CB!

Probably. Thankfully Chelsea are shite themselves.

Ole seem to have his favorites though who he plays even if they are playing very poorly. Also there seem to be no bigger plan about why certain players do start.

Well, we keep losing all the games though so the line-ups are not great.

Was really hoping that mctominay and martial would start. At least there is a semblance of creativity and pace there.

Mata and matic in the starting line up is just depressing, unless Mata is playing in number 10 role with lukaku and rashford as strikers on either side .That might prove to be interesting

I would have played Martial instead of Lukaku. Ironically it was Martial who almost won the game for us at Chelsea. He also links up well with Mata.

In any case, whomever is on the pitch need to do the business today.

Who else could we realistically play on the right? Unbelievable that we went into this season with Lingard and a past it Mata as our options.
Yeah that's the tough question unfortunately, the old romantic in me says we should of gave Chong or Gomes more minutes over Lingard and then we would of known whether they have it or not. Personally I'd start Sánchez there for now, as poor as he has been.

Not having the Chuckle Bros in defence is a start but Matic and Mata??? Would rather start Sanchez over Lukaku. At least the running stats would be doubled. I think Young and Matic are gonna screw us over today. Hopefully Bailly can put in a performance too.

We just need to win this.

I actually think Rashford could do with dropping aswell, he hasn't been good at all lately and is playing too much for himself.

Acting very petulant off the ball etc.
I wonder what Martial has to do to be played in a central role. Partly because he clearly can't play wing, so shouldn't be asked to any more.

I don't want to see Martial starting again, his performance against Everton was an absolute disgrace.

Never mind the line up. Let's just hope we get the win any which way.

    Here, there, everywhere...
Calls to include Chong, Gomes and Greenwood are preposterous. The time to bed them in will be next preseason. Anyway, of the three only Greenwood has looked comfortable and could potentially make a difference.

    He's fecking wank though?

Lukaku at least scores fecking goals which is a start for a striker.
