Lukaku has been our best player.

In fact all players played very well today bar Rash and Young till that fecking mistake from our great GK.

Whatever is wrong with him, Ole's responsibility is to the team and the club on the whole - not to one player. It would have been easy for Ole just to give him some time out like SAF did with him at one point. We have a capable No 2. I keep saying the club treats De Gea with kid gloves and it's hurting us and him.
Romero was a bit rubbish vs. Wolves, wasn't he? I'd agree if his recent form was the same as under Mourinho. Not an easy call.

That was a terrific first-half performance, and all I'd say is it's a shame the second goal wasn't scored when clearly on top.

The other side will always feel a glimmer of hope when they've been that outplayed and are still only a goal down. Re the error, these things happen.

    Still all to play for.

Pointless talking about dropping De Gea, the horse has bolted.

It’s always the same though. Too many individual shit houses in our team. It doesn’t matter how well we play when we have absolute plebs making these shocking errors and decision making.
Well said, majority of the time were effectively playing 1-0 down from the start as you know a mistake is in anyone of our players regardless of form.

It’s the same as those people who always go ‘if we had just put away those chances...’, been said countless times this season.

Fact is they miss the golden opportunities time and time and time again, that ain’t bad luck, its poor ability.

Same as you, not a fan, if we can upgrade great, but arguably best performer today.

Gutted at that end, was a very good performance, loads of hard work.
Hopefully it won't be the same anti-climax like in the opposite fixture. Really should have won at the Bridge earlier in the season.

If you think Ferguson would sell de Gea this summer, you are being way too reactionary. Absurd.
100% would. Angling for a new massive 5 year contract with little evidence he’s actually got what it takes to perform at this level anymore. He’s in his last year of contract, if this is how he’s playing while he’s jobs on the line, how’s he going to play when he knows he’s got a shiny new contract?

People seem to forget the best manager the league has ever seen had no problem dropping our star players for far less than throwing the ball in the net.

Go out for a family dinner at christmas?

You are fecking dropped, Park and Rafeal in midfield next game.

    Doesnt like your missus?

    Sold.

    Doesnt like your book?

    Sold.

Doesnt like you questioning the clubs less than ambitious transfer policy?

    Dropped.

I am not for selling DDG. Just having a bad spell right now. But hope he doesn't have the gall to ask for 400k/week or whatever.

Alexis and Lukaku would be nice to see in second half. I have a feeling that this is THAT game for Alexis

People keep going on about DDG's confidence. It's not that... it's concentration. Quite a few here said he should have not picked today. We should have dropped him but just said he could go on holiday early. he was poor at the world cup and needs a rest. that said, knew one goal wasn't going to be enough. now we have to see something we haven't for ages: good second-half performances from pogba and rashford after good(ish) first halves.

Once again I say: when herrera plays well, we play well. lukaku had been good so have bailly and lindelof (told you so; just hope I don't jinx things)

DDG needs to make a worldie and get that confidence back. I fear that subbing him off will break it down more.

He seems to do better concentration wise when we are under pressure. When we are dominating he switches off.

He picked him knowing his terrible form did he not? He was even asked by the press if he would play De Gea despite his poor form. Oles job is to pick the team most likely to win a game isn't it?

This is on Ole, he knew very well De Gea is very low on confidence and has played poorly for a longer period now.
I agree, but unfortunately we need to sell and if we drop him it slaps 15-30 million off any future price tag. The buying club would have the upper hand.

I really do think he's being sold in which case we have to protect the value.

The past 5 years this man has been worth 125 million for me. But now with the contract running down, and his absolute basket full of errors he's worth circa 60 million now. Take him out of the team and <50 is probably where we're at; especially if he wants to go and forces our hand.

Don't know why everyone thinks we will get something out of this, Ole is incapable of raising the standards at half time it's cost us in recent weeks and will cost us again. We need to be 2 or more goals up to be comfortable in a game cannot defend a lead.

De Gea has been the worst he's been since the first season and is holding the club to a new contract. Bench him.
That’s the thing. With his current form and not signing a contract I’d drop him for the last two games. He has effectively cost us a Champions League spot with his recent clangers.

De Gea's confident is clearly shot. Not sure dropping him will fix that. After 5 years of being a one man defence, it is inevitable he would see a period of poor form.

By rights he should be red carded already and it's only a matter if time till he is
The first was a yellow. The second wasn't, especially since the ref has let pogba get smashed all game. No consistency

Lukaku and Rashford have been so disappointing. De Gea has been so awful and painfully average this season . We will miss out on CL because of him .
The same Lukaku who was instrumental in the buildup to our goal, who's been bullying defenders and played a through ball to Rashford on goal that he wasted? What do some of you people watch?

Some majestic commentary in here today, lads. I thought we were really good for most of that half. Rashford getting plenty of flak but his movement has been brilliant. His decision making not so much. Rom, Mata both making things happen as is Pogba in the last 25 mins. Work, work, work, they'll cough up more chances at the back.

1 game versus how much for De Gea?

Anyway I've had a smoke and calmed down. 45 mins left to get the win.

He played fine after he signed his last contract. So there is evidence he would be fine but you are just speculating. He's in poor form right now, but there are 2 games left this season.

Again, if you think Ferguson would actually sell him I think you are overreacting.

That’s fine, but you’re selling him citing this run of form. That’s too far the other way.
It’s not this run I’m overly concerned about. Keepers have form like everyone. It’s the fact that he has always made mistakes, he’s done it for Spain constantly in high pressure situations and now it’s spilling over to us in high pressure situations. He wins us points against teams like Everton or even Arsenal but he’s cost us more in this last 10 games than his new contract is even worth
