I think the missing players indicate a lot. Going to be a nightmare to guess the front six but the back five will probably be

    De Gea

    Valencia Jones Smalling Dalot

    Hopefully Dalot starts over Young.

Why not just let the players take an early vacation and ask them to start pre-season earlier? Try being better prepared for next season.

Should be a fun front three anyway

(waits for it to turn out to be Mata - Rashford - Martial...)

Genuinely the only game I can remember in recent years where it really does mean nothing to the club and the fans. Complete apathy.

Remember when Mourinho started McTominay, Tuanzebe, TFM, Pereira (keeper), Harrop, and Mitchell for the last game of the season?

We had an Europa league final waiting and the CL was done. Similar to now, only without the El final and a rebuild in the summer.

Still would like to finish 5th instead of 6th and we can avoid a Europa Quali game in pre-season I believe.

I do, i remember Giggs doing the same and LvG and everyone loving it. Apparently it would be wrong for Ole to do the same though, on this occasion it's right for him not to play the youth, unless of course he decides to play the youth then that's also the right decision.

Expect some youngsters and some squad management. Fred and Lingard will probable start.

    De Gea
    Dalot Smalling Lindeløf Shaw
    McTominay Fred Pogba
    Lingard Greenwood Martial

Chong, Garner and Rashford in as substitutes.

Need to win the game to get 5th to avoid early season start if Watford wins the FA Cup and Arsenal lose tomorrow

Why would we want to avoid an early start? These feckers didn't earn a vacation, they should get back to work asap and work on their fitness.

They get less time to work on fitness if we start Europa earlier.

I wanted Herrera to stay and disappointed he's leaving but I am not sure I would get sentimental about it and play him or even have him in the squad, just to give him a send off. Arguably we could do that for half the sqaud tomorrow...

He's had a little send off video, which is more then most players get for 5 years at the club. Much rather his space in the sqaud goes to a young player.

That said, Tony V deserves a farewell, he's one of the remaining players from SAF's era, been here for 10 years, and potentially could be retiring.

It's not about "vacation". It's about starting the season prematurely and interrupting our pre-season. Which, considering our fitness, is something we desperately need. We can't afford to have another shite pre-season.

You’re being too optimistic. Players like Herrera, Valencia, Young, Matic and Jones will play. OGS has shown him giving youth a chance is give odd 10 mins sub appearance.

How's that going to work when Herrera & Matic have been left out of the squad? I already have Jones & Valencia in my team
