Since Pogba was signed we signed Sanchez, Fred and Dalot in 4 windows.... if you are aiming your vitriol at Pogba and not the club for a weak mentality and backing of the football club then you deserve all of the heart ache you get from the club right now.

Hope Pogba can get out now and De Gea too, I'm sure he sees how fickle our fans are and to be honest behaving like Wildlings in Game of thrones, we dont deserve them..

The issue you have is Pogba is not a leader. That's not a criticism of him by the way.

He is supremely talented and an absolute enigma. He is an 'icing on the cake' sort of players which is why he has done so well with Juventus and France in the past - because he has been surrounded by World Class players. He may demonstrate leadership by making a rousing speech from time to time as we saw in the World Cup, but he doesn't lead by example on a day to day basis.

I think the issue is that Pogba came to United at a time where a lot of leaders within the dressing room had left or were about to leave. All of United's home-grown players, plus some of the other players such as Martial and Lukaku, look up to him as their leader. This is evident from various social media videos etc. But his unique style won't translate very well if others take him as an example to follow. There's the added issue that because he was a youth player at United, he probably knows more people at the club than a lot of the other players, so there is a reluctance to try and challenge Pogba's assumed leadership from outside of this group. Therefore previous leaders within the dressing room have been sidelined (Valencia etc.).

I don't think he's as disruptive as the media makes him out to be, but I don't think his laid-back, fun, happy-go-lucky personality is what is needed as a central leader in the dressing room at the moment, with so many younger, impressionable players looking up to that example.

I'm not Pogba's biggest fan but I felt for him yesterday. The Martial for Jones sub completely unbalanced the team. Finishing the game with a midfield 3 of Lingard, Pogba and Gomes with Pogba in a holding midfield role was just ridiculous.

Ole's issue is the lack of quality options in midfield. He's got to get the balance right in midfield and needs at least 2 quality signings in that area, even if Pogba stays.

If you end up with 6 players on the pitch who all like to operate in the number 10 role, it's no surprise that they play through the middle while basically standing on each other's toes.

If he's not pulling on the no.6 shirt for Real Madrid in August, I'll eat my hat.

Bet they clapped Rashy and Lingard
rashy and lingard mightened have as much talent as pogba but they put in work and try bust their balls . no one is doubting pogbas quality but lazily strolls around the pitch doesnt chase back when loses the ball etc thats what they are calling him on.

Why are people surprised the star player gets more flak? Isn’t this how it’s always been? Young, Jones etc don’t get a pass, it’s because we know they’re shite and have no expectations of them. A whole lot more is expected of someone like Pogba than Lingard and Young
Because I've never seen a player get as much abuse from United fans as this. It's crazy considering he's the least of our troubles.

Our fans have sucked in recent years by being dicks to Nani, Fellaini, Cleverley, etc, so I'm not too surprised, though.

I think fans turn on Pogba because it’s easy. It’s much better and easier to blame Pogba and demand he does more because then you can ignore the real issue which is that the club is a shambles from top to bottom and will take years to fix.

Fans want to believe the easy option, the one that can be solved quicker rather than admit the truth. The amount of our fans who think we can do what Liverpool did this season and improve enough to compete for the title is ridiculous.

Pogba would be crazy not to demand a transfer and we’d be equally as crazy to keep him here if he wants to leave.

Great post. I agree totally.

We'll be a worse team when he leaves, which I'm almost certain he will do this summer. He's by far our best player but he's the scapegoat for everything that's gone wrong with the club. No one player has ever run a game by themselves, it's a complete myth, but fans seem to have bought into this idea that because Pogba can't be a defensive, attacking and box to box midfielder all in one, hes the one we should turn against. We'll miss him when we can only watch pedestrian players like McTominay and Matic next season.

I'm annoyed that his final memory of this club will be of knuckle draggers like those fans hurling abuse at him.

Not really, I have done my criticizing of Pogba the player before he even step a foot back at United. I simply judge him on what he has done and what he was when we purchased him. Unlike you, I try to not make up things that barely make sense.

In the case of this podcast, Lingard and Pogba have been friends for 10 years but somehow this sport journalist links the influence to Pogba's transfer fee. It's a good thing that these people are in sport journalism.
Believe whatever you want to. Many journalists are saying that Pogba’s attitude is causing problems, and they are much closer to the players and clubs than we ever will be. They speak to people at clubs and get gossip we’re never going to be on the end of. If you don’t want to believe them, that’s your choice, personally I think there is no smoke without fire.

I’m not saying it’s all him, I don’t think Pogba is a leader. He needs bigger characters around him to force him to grow up. All he is right now is the tallest kid in primary school who influences the other kids around him. If he stays we need some big characters in there to keep him in check.

Unlike many of the posters here those fans work hard every year often on small wages to buy their season ticket. They can only dream of what Pogba earns in a month. They also know a fraud when they see one and the rightfully called him out. He is not the only problem or indeed the main problem but he is a luxury item and is not whats needed at this time in a rebuild. Sell him to Madrid and clean out the rest of that nest of malcontents as quickly as possible.

No, they don't. I've been to plenty of games and know plenty of ST holders. Some know what theyre watching, some last kicked a football when they were in primary school, and none of them know what goes on behind the scenes. The ones screaming abuse at the top of their lungs to our best player makes me pretty sure theyre the ones not worth listening to.

The abuse is obviously not on. The paying fans don't get heard though and something needs to be done by clubs to address that in my opinion. Perhaps vetted (and level headed) fans could be invited to some kind of press conference style talk a few times a season and especially at the end, with Ole, Woodward, and a selection of players.

Love this idea. But I'm not sure how the vetting process would work.

Young was actually at his best in AM at Villa.
Moving him to RB he's regressed so much as a footballer he can hardly cross the ball which was one of his best assets
No one moved him to RB. He was so shit at LM/RM that the club had to look for a way to accommodate him someplace else so the wages we paying him won't be a mockery. :D

Idiots blaming Pogba (our best player) while Woodward and the Glazer's are bleeding the club dry.

I guess the old adage about football fans being thick is true.

Under a tree.
I am sure United paying the most had nothing to do with it.
Did he take a paycut to come here? nope!
There's things you can defend Pogba on, but this is one of the worst excuses. I am almost tempted to join Twitter to respond to this..

That’s sad. Our players recently are like: play ugly, lose, apologise to the fans, dance on instagram, repeat.

Don’t apologise, just deliver and give your all on the pitch. That’s what we expecr

I hope he stays. On his day, he’s our best outfield player by a country mile. Every mistake he does is analyses to death but he is so much more productive that the rest of the team.
Yes, we could sell him and thrive but I’d rather keep him. Problem is, should we not buy any decent players this summer (highly likely) then we won’t see the best from him next season and we will miss out of getting a decent few for him.
Another badly managed situation from Woody and Co.
I doubt there is much the club could do to keep PP happy now anyway after being abused by ‘fans’ on Sunday.
Given the fact Young, Jones and the most annoying footballer in the world ‘jlinz’ were there and deserved every bit of shit and more, I feel sorry for PP.
If he gets a move, I hope it works out for him.

Imagine some drunk twat yelling “you’re shite” at you from the stands, while you’ve been the main creative outlet of your team, making it to the PL team of the year even though your team had an absolute disaster of a season.

Was any offer ever actually on the table from Madrid though? The impression at the time was that we'd come in with such a high bid that nobody else could afford to match it, or at least wasn't willing to.

You can also have issues with Pogba without crying over Herrera. I'm happy for the latter to leave, but I'm also sick to death of Pogba and the rest of the squad apologising for not trying hard enough.

Think about it this way, the reason Perez is allegedly upset with Raiola is because the latter led him to believe that Madrid had a chance to sign him while he was negotiating with United.

Aye, and he probably told United that Madrid were interested in him to net him a bigger contract and signing on fee, but that doesn't mean Pogba turned down Madrid.

It most definitely means that he chose United when he had other options. Now, we can mitigate that with whatever argument that we want, from money to leading the team and boosting his ego but let's not pretend that he didn't actually choose United or that he didn't had any other option.

He didn't have an option if Madrid were unable or unwilling to make an offer that Juventus would accept, which was the talk at the time of the transfer.

This thread is unbelievable. It makes Martial FC look reasonable.

Pogba is an issue, it's as simple as that. The fact he's generating so much charged discussion at the moment proves it. We accept that he's only one of many, many issues - and that he isn't the most compelling that we're facing right now. But ffs. He's a fecking issue and a blatant one at that.

Ask yourselves why fans of this club, many of whom recognise him as our best player technically, would even contemplate losing him go for the perceived sake of the club. Also ask yourselves why it might be that players like Young, Herrera etc. who, despite being inferior players, simply look like they give a shit on the pitch and therefore aren't treated as harshly as a result? Pogba is supposedly a leader in the dressing room and based on how we've played, and with how I perceive his leadership from a fan's perspective, I can fecking well believe it.

He could get rid of all of this debate simply by looking interested on the pitch. Bottom line for me. It's the absolute bare minimum.

After a lot of rollin n scrollin here at the caf I decided that the worse possible attitude for United fans to have atm is to keep on blaming, pointing out to one or two culprits, always trying to find out who's to blame. Of course there are some individuals I'd love to get over now, such as some of our players and the board members. But I quit that stupid game of blaming.

For instance I am starting to believe that many of the MU fans' ways are just as poisonus as the things we point out as bad. We should definitely be caring diferently about the club we support. Rather than moaning and cursing around we should be looking for ways, fighting for places to express our feelings and intentions towards the club. Thinking for ourselves about what is and what should be our rol in this big game.

The abuse was over the top imo. Booing yes, if it's appropriate that's fine. I just don't see when it's appropriate to hurl abuse at your own players like that.

I don't think there's a situation where that behaviour is acceptable whatever you've been like. Booing would have been perfectly adequate.
