Look, I'm not against sending hoes over to Germany to entice Sancho, but not the Mancunian hoes. That's where we're going wrong in negotiations. We need some latina girls on retainer for special occasions like this!

Hoes be fading?

Explains why we can't get deals over the line and the transfer sagas each summer.

Well if we’re only planning on adding James as our only attacking option then we're taking a massive, massive gamble. I don’t like it.
Same here. As a punt alongside an established, quality winger, he'd be fine. If he's our only rw addition then I'd be massively concerned.

Agree 100%. Those wankers better back Ole and I cannot imagine him thinking that Dan James is the answer to all our attacking woes.

The club's back up plan to Sancho is an inconsistent 21 year old with a grand total of Zero PL minutes? Well, we are truly fecked.
We could easily add someone like Pepe for 50 mill Euros or something.

But I can understand the problem here. We really really want Sancho, who is going to cost 100 mill plus, we will try to buy him, if not this year then next year. So there's not much sense in buying another player to be RW by paying 50-60 mill just to be backup when we already have Lingard as a possible RW backup. But selling Sanchez and Mata and just signing James will be asking for trouble. Maybe there is truth in those Dybala rumors

Lewandowski could be a great shout though. If he was attainable then it's an opportunity for a quality striker to come in and give Rashford and Greenwood the chance to get minutes and develop.

There isn't a huge choice when it comes to available strikers so he would buy us a year or so where we can develop and keep tabs on upcoming talents to replace him with.

Lewandowski would be a typical Man Utd signing. Big name comes to take life easy and pick up a massive pay check.

We need go with the young and hungry strategy, someone who can develop into a top talent.

Still better than Lukaku... but I'd rather we go for someone younger

Gotta love how transfer hopes are fading before lunchtime of the 1st day of the transfer window being open. The international window doesn't even open until June 11th is it?

It's just media click bait to upset fragile Utd fans.

Can't believe we're dilly dalling again!
Is this a serious post?

The transfer window is not even open yet is it? Thought it was midnight tonight?

Also, it only seems like we are 'dilly-dallying' compared to other clubs because we are more invested in United-related transfer news and we do not necessarily follow other clubs transfer rumors as extensively.

We do not know what is going on behind the scenes, but I guess everyone on here is (somewhat understandably) negative about our club in general right now.

Hope he just wants biger contracts in Munchen.

Well, we did buy Van Persie in a similar age, didn't turn out so bad.

And the 2012/13 team wasn't all that.

So, recreate that team tactics, use Lewa the same way we used Van Persie?

4-3-1-2 diamond? Get a right back to overlap, get a fast right winger with a wicked cross? Use Mata as we did with Shinji, top of the diamond?

I loved that season, we scored plenty, and came back a lot.

Imagine turning down Lewa when we have Rashford and Lukaku up top or thinking we can get better in our current state

The BBC reported the same yesterday re Sancho.

Deal was "nailed on" a few months ago, according to David Ornstein. It is now considered to be "highly unlikely", due to our dreadful football and instability at the club putting Sancho off.

I think if we cannot get Sancho, then perhaps Ole feels that there is no first choice RW that we can get who suits his team next season, hence the smoke about Dybala and Fernandes that might signal a shift to using the diamond formation more regularly. James can then be our option off the bench if we want to change tactics.

De Gea
Meunier - Koulibaly - Lindelof - Shaw
Matic
McTominay-Pogba
Fernandes
Lewandowski - Rashford

Bit like that?

Yeah, something like that.

Except Matić is done, so we would need upgrading on a holding midfielder, and i don't think Rashford would be the best option as his ball holding isn't the greatest, i would prefer Martial in that "Rooney 12/13" position, because his close control is better.

Also have no freaking idea how Fernandes plays, but if he's any good in opening space, that's it.

All of that really depends if a 30 year old Lewandowski is still as good as a 30 year old Van Persie. That's a big IF.
Fergie gambled, won our last title.

Throw the dice again?

Not sure about that. Pulisic is a clear downgrade on Hazard and Higuain is finished.
Higuain is extremely lethal if given the service. Hazard may be gone but Coutinho + Pulisic together can help fill that void. Plus Hudson Odoi has his own talent (assuming fit). On paper it also looks quite well balanced.
