Manchester United have been hoovering up young talent for a long time now but they still get lambasted with questions such as 'what are we paying our scouts for ?'. It's one of my many aversions towards the United fanbase, usually ones on Twitter.

Look, I really like the guy, but he’s never going to be good enough for United so we have to let him go and better to do that now when somebody is interested in buying him. I agree that we need to replace him but Inter are not likely to wait around and if they don’t buy him, who will?
I can't disagree too much. I never wanted us to sign him and am happy to let him go, provided a reliable goalscorer is brought in to replace him. If we don't want to be robbed blind for the replacement, it possibly makes sense to secure that deal first.

Incidentally, you could perhaps make a case for keeping Lukaku around for one more season, if we have now shifted our focus away from AWB and towards Meunier - he and Lukaku seem to have developed a decent on-field relationship at national level.

No you need to listen to the podcast itself rather than linking me reddit link.

Ian McGarry and him were on a transfer podcast and it was Ian McGarry who said United has agreed a 100m euro deal for Dybala. Castles didn't say anything.
Whenever I think of Ian McGarry I'm instantly reminded of his continual b*llshtting during the Sniejder rumours on 5Live.

We may not have a set budget for this summer, but if we do, I expect it to be roughly in the region of £200-£250 million NET.

I'm not sure if we can spend £100 million of that on the likes of Felix when there are several areas of our squad which needs reinforcements.

If it was easy to find 20 goal a season strikers we wouldn't have paid £75m+ in the first place. £50m would be laughable considering what we pay for others.
Exactly. People here think Lukaku is some joke striker. He still bangs goals whenever he plays fr belgium and in his worst season he has outscored both rashford and Martial. I am not against selling him but 50m is less. Inter are cnuts they asked 50 for perisic but are only giving 50 for lukaku. 60 at the least or no deal.

105gbp for felix. Never seem him play but he just seems like a muppet signing really.
Damn Brexit screwing up the pound, costing us around 12.5% extra per euro transfer, saying that Unt are floated on the NY stock exchange maybe the purchase can be made through US dollars which have risen against the Euro in the last 12 months

Lukaku will tear up the Italian league to be fair. They won't be able to handle his pace and power, will be similar to how he plays for Belgium.

You can't just look at the goals in isolation though.

I honestly do not believe that Lukaku is a good fit for the type of football we aspire to play, nor does his game bring out the best in our other attackers.

I feel a different type of striker would not only be able to get a similar goal scoring record, but also help our attacking unit as a whole.

I remember people said something similar about RVN when he was here, and he was a much better player than Lukaku.

120 million? Sounds a bit steep for him, no?
Yeah but that isn't what they are valuing him at as such. They don't want to sell but he has a clause, if anyone wants him, rather than negotiating for a sale that Benfica don't want, they have to match the clause. Pretty fair to be honest.

I get that and like I said I am not against selling him but we cannot just sell him for 50m. Heck Morata went for 50m after having a mare at chelsea. 60 would be a fair deal.

I haven't watched Henderson one little bit, but how old was De Gea when he came here? 21? 22?
I say cash in on David and let Sergio and Dean fight for the #1 shirt.
This is madness. A decent back up keeper and a promising youngster that did well at a level that is multiple times lower than the Prem. At a time when United needs to pick it up ASAP. I know this forum tends to get romantic with things from time to time but that’s just...wow. Also, people legit believe Romero is good enough to be our starting keeper?

We all love United
Pickford isn’t a bad replacement for DDG to be honest. You know England’s number one playing for England’s biggest club, Ed himself will love it

It's as bad as it gets, would rather stick with Romero and Henderson.
