A midfield with him and Bakayoko I'd be happy to part with Pogba. All we need then is a centre half Cahil on a free would be a shrewd signing and get a striker happy to sit on the bench and come on and score some goals (Someone like Defoe or Danny Graham at Blackburn)

When he's on it, he's fantastic. Stong, good on the ball, moves around the pitch well and tactically strong. Only thing is, he struggles with consistency.
Really? If this was anywhere near true surely he would make a Southampton squad for a tour? He isn’t bad but he is average at pretty much everything.

This isn't a bad move if £15 or so mil is the fee.
Decent player, not world class, but as a squad player, the fee is right and he has something to offer.
I don't mind as long as we build with other players also

I'm not knocking him as a squad player. The trouble is our first XI is nowhere near good enough and that should be the priority. If we had a great first XI these kind of deals would make sense.

A lot of people think we are a laughing stock because the players we’ve been link to.But they forgot about Liverpool midfield.Look who is laughing now? Maybe all the plastic fan should keep playing football manager or Fifa and get the so called ‘world class player’ they want and be happy.

Would be a step in the right direction as we need somewhat reliable squad players/bodies in midfield as well, which cannot be said for the likes of Fred (right now) and especially Pereira. Matic has been shite for a long period of time too.

If we sign Lemina hopefully Fernandes would be the next to follow as his arrival shouldn't depend on whether or not Pogba leaves.

He isnt missing tour because he is in the reserves or something haha he won 2 titles at juve he is a good player
He played 29 games over 2 seasons, Pereyra, Zaza played more and also won titles for Juve, you want them too? Why do Southampton have him in the reserves? ... haha :houllier:

We all love United
I really doubt the links. It's either Savic or Bruno if we are going for a midfielder. Names like Lemina and Bakayoko are just stupid paper talk in my opinion

Any half decent cm would be an improvement on what we have

We don't need squad players. We need first team players. We've Fred, Metic and McTomminay who should be squad players? Are we hell bent on signing gambles this season? Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind it, if we just won the League or the CL and had a near perfect squad -- our squad is falling apart for feck sakes.

We've signed AWB, who I'm pretty sure will be fantastic for us, but otherwise, are we going to sign any players who will improve us at all?

Also, why the feck are Southhampton letting him go with such ease? I mean, they're happy to let him leave and for peanuts. That's the biggest red flag if I ever saw one.

He’s not short of talent, it just hasn’t all come together yet. He’s better than Southampton in terms of ability. Similar player to Ndombele or Mousa Dembele I believe.

Would be a move that could disappoint, but could also have MASSIVE upside and he becomes one of the better CMs in the league, as the ability is there.
Good to read that he's talented and has ability.

What we need in midfield is quality right now and not numbers as some are suggesting. Particularly midfielders who are press resistant, have that extra quality on the ball, and/or can playmake. Not sure if this fellow can do any of those but if he can be a quality holding /box to box midfielder and wouldn't cost much, would naturally take that.

I can't even comment, never heard of him. I'm must say this transfer window has been the most exciting one for years

I remember watching him on a sky live game for Southampton and he was everywhere; all over the pitch tackling, taking people on and breaking up play. Granted I’ve not seen much of him but what I saw left a positive impression.

I can only imagine Ole sees Gomes and Garner as being ready for the first team and really pushing for regular first team places next season otherwise our targets are highly worrying!

Hard pass on this one! If you are not playing well at Southampton how are you going to do at United where the pressure is 100x what it is there?

I hope this is just paper talk....

I think we’ve tried to do this in the past. I think it will only get you so far. You need a squad.

I don't think you understand. I believe we see these as the Herrera replacement.

Savic or Bruno are replacing Pogba.

Haven't considered this. Would make more sense to gamble on the talent of our youth then to rely on some of the names we've been hearing.

I saw him play a few times for Juve (and Southampton). Based on what I’ve seen, he’s a bit limited, doesn’t quite have the technical ability to excel in teams that look to control games, Schneiderlin also had similar issues.

I think he’d be an upgrade on Fred and Matic though.

I think he's decent technically from what I've seen of him.

Pretty sensible transfer in that case IMO
He isn’t in the same class as either of those players, if Unite fans would hate Dier I can’t see why Lemina would be positive, similar players but Dier is better, and I’m not a massive fan of Dier as a starter.

Bit worrying since Fellaini and Herrera are two completely different players.

I don't mind a gamble, it's been a while since I was pleasantly surprised by an unknown signing - probably Javier. But unless we've spotted some secret mistake other clubs have made then I don't think he's going to be the answer we're looking for.

Maybe he's incredible as a lone striker?!

Would be a good addition to the squad for a decent fee. We should be looking to improve our first 11 and our squad, especially in central midfield where we are down to bare bones.

He's much better on the ball then Fellaini or Dier.

Signings....you can never ever tell until they put the shirt on and run out at Utd. Some are a major disappointment and others rise to the challenge. There's def a player in there and it's whether he has the right mentality and importantly maturity to prove it. Def worth 15m in today's market.
