Lemina, Longstaff, Maguire plus the two players we have signed. Pogba out. Would we be satisfied with that?
Terrible in my opinion. Especially if Lukaku leaves and we don’t replace him. Rashford ain’t getting the goals.

Add Bruno to that and it's still not great.

Exactly. These guys are unlikely to get in the top 4, never mind have a chance of winning the league which is what we should be aiming for this season.

We need bodies in midfield, so even if he's just a Fellaini replacement, I'm for it. Sub 20m is basically free these days, anyway.

Some of the players we're linked with this summer compared to 2016(no CL football back then too) is remarkable.

This better be a silly rumor.

Maybe Ole thinks that he can get a tune out of him.
He's very talented and people are overreacting as it's usually like that on the Caf nowadays.

If Newcastle are really telling us Longstaff will cost around £50 million, they can feck off and I'd rather us bring in someone for much less. Bruno Fernandes is still on for sure, Maguire seems a serious target and we officially made a bid, if Lukaku goes we will also target a forward, it might even be a RW.

I despise the board and the owners, but have faith in Ole ffs!

Sounds absolutely horrific and would just further cement our incredible downfall under Woodward.

I'm not going to lie

I've watch him a couple of times this season and thought he'd do a good job at OT, but he like picks up cards for fun.

We'd need all three of the above, and even at that, we'd be replacing two of our departing midfielders with inferior players.

People aren't overreacting, they've a legitimate reason to be concerned. When posters were losing their minds over signing James, one could say that he was going to be a squad player and that another right winger was coming in. Now, it looks like that's the only winger we will be getting. That's concerning. We are incredibly slow at identifying our problem areas and even slower at solving them.

I get that Ole wants to bring in young, hungry players and I'm fine with that, but this guy has questionable desire and attitude. Even Southampton want rid. You honestly think that this is anything other than a massive gamble?

People can say that it's peanuts, and actually, I initially thought that, but we will undoubtedly hand him a 4+1 year contract worth £100k a week. He will take up another squad space and if he doesn't work out then we will be stuck with him for 5 years because no one will take him off us. We want to get rid of all deadwood, not potentially bringing it in from the get go. It's a big gamble.

It's a much better gamble than paying £52 million for Fred or £40 million for Matic. Also, why would he be on £100k per week? AWB is on £80k and he is a proper first 11 player.

Lemina will be on no more than £50-£60k, no doubt about that and he will relish the chance to play for a top club again, in order to reignite his career. For £15 million there is absolutely no risk involved.

You can do worse than to buy a Southampton player. Personally I'd like to see Redmond given a shot at a bigger club.

I remember thinking Southampton had picked up a real gem after they initially signed him and watching his first few games, but then his performances seemed to fade.

We don't need another inconsistent midfielder. I hope he can get his act together if we sign him.

Under a tree.
The Southampton player I am interested in, even though he's hasn't kicked a ball yet for them, is Djenepo... Looks like a really exciting two footed winger

Isn't he the antithesis of the transfer philosophy Ole is trying to implement?

He's supposedly on 65k a week at Southampton. You think he'll not take decent pay rise since we are who we are after all -- fecking inept. We have Lingard on 100k ffs.
Reignite he's career -- he made all of 29 appearances for Juve. Isn't there a reason as to why Juve sold him? I'd relish playing for any team in the Irish league which is semi-pro -- well, that means absolutely nothing as I'm just not good enough. He's career hasn't really taken off as his appreances are pretty mediocre for Juve and for Southampton. Falling to see all of that, I don't even think he's striving for success via hard work. Allegedly, he thinks Southampton are below his station, yet they're ones that want rid. I'd stay the feck away.

Hey, if you choose to be optimistic about this transfer, then more power to you.

I'm just sick and tired of big money flops on huge wages mate. I also always liked what I saw from Lemina when I've watched him play, if Ole thinks he can get him in a proper footballing state, I'd support it.

The club hierarchy is fecking inept but that's a different topic. As bad as it is, I'm sure Lemina won't mean that we are stopping the pursuit for B. Fernandes as many seem to be fearing.

I don't really see the point in this.

He's inferior to our outgoings stats-wise, has been reported as having a bad mentality and is not 21 anymore, which somewhat takes the 'Huge Potential' card off the table.

Worse than that, he doesn't even seem to fit in with the reported play-style Ole's looking to implement. I can't help but think this is nonsense, despite the smoke.

I just don't see it. But hey ho I'm no scout, if this turns out to be true I'll for sure be rooting for him to prove what an idiot I am. I remember him being talked about as an option when he first moved and looked quality for a few weeks, maybe there's a player in there.

Wow, is this like the first time ever talkWUM have actually called a legit rumour? Thought they were just the radio edition of the red tops or just create any old story to ramble rouse the gullible into calling in aka giving them money.

He seems like a smokescreen to me, like how Max Aarons suddenly became our main target then Palace sold us AWB a week later.

Our big money flops are because of our scatter-gun approach without any real direction in mind. I mean, are we looking for technical players, are we looking for players with high work rate etc etc.

If you look at our signings, they've been all over the place because 3 of our previous managers had all different tactics in mind. Then you have that gerbil-faced twat, undermining Mourinho, whom, for all his shit, still wanted Maguire and is being vindicated in part.

Listen, I wouldn't mind if we signed this lad if our squad was already solid. I don't think many complained about AWB. Only a few about Longstaff, as it seems that he has real talent and looks like he's hardworking, hungry for success player.

Southampton fans call this lad leminstagram as by all accounts he is more concerned with his media personality rather than his football.

Maguire, Longstaff, Bruno and Ben Yedder are all players I'd have here but absolutely not this lad.

I totally get your points. Definitely not actively pushing for this transfer, I'm just saying there could be some logic to it and would support Ole on his decision.

But if we only get him for the CM position, I'd definitely be livid at the board, it just won't be acceptable whatever way they spin it. However people shouldn't just blindly blame Solskjaer for all of this as there is no doubt he would have wanted more players to be sold by now and get most of the work done before the tour starts. As we stand, it's another summer that shows the complete lack of footballing brain in our owners and directors.

I'll definitely be behind him, if he ever comes here. Hell, I'd only be happy if he proves me wrong. I'm not blaming Ole per se, I just think he's playing a dangerous game, if the reports are indeed true. Ah well, the axe will be falling on his head, not mine, if he doesn't get it right. I don't think Ole has what it takes. I still fully support him and I really, really hope it works out but I'm not holding my breath. I'd love to be made a fool of here. I really would.

Can’t say I’ve seen much of him, from going off YouTube it looks like he can play deep?

He seems to love a roulette on the ball.

I’m not sure how good he is exactly, but we desperately need midfielders.

Always thought he was a tidy player myself. Why shouldn't we take a few lower priced gambles, we've been getting ripped off for crap players for too long.

There is quality at the smaller clubs that can come cheap.

Talksport weren't the first to report Lemina. Adrian Kajumba from the Mail was and he also called Daniel James before anyone else.

To be linked to both this guy and Bakayoko is so frustrating, if the club are penny pinching for some type of Herrera replacement I can't believe we didnt go after Mexican International Hector Herrera who was available on a free this summer but eventually ended up signing for Atletico Madrid and would have been brilliant like for like replacement with a Jung si Park like engine, I bet the club were too busy putting all their eggs in one basket chasing Rabiot and are now scrapping the bottom of barrel for midfielders

Hmmm interesting.

I’m hoping one of these days our alleged world class scouting team pull out a decent lead on a low key player, and that player ends up being good for us. £18m is peanuts in this market too. I’d be for him if we’re getting the likes of Fernandes and Longstaff in too. I’d be disappointed if he’s the only midfield addition but I can’t see that happening... even with Woody and the marketing posse running things.
