never understood that nonsense. I'd take Pep in a heartbeat (not that Steve Bruce is Pep)Would love to see that, not sure the fans will forgive him for taking the Sunderland job though.
Possibly the only manager who's as bad a manager as the dickhead is an ownerI'd love to see Brucie there! Can't see it though.
I also bet Moyes is kicking himself - he'd be a shoe in for this.

Context or an example of what will slowly happen to usLooking at Newcastle helps put our situation in context
Until the next club wants to offer him a job with more moneyHow long do we reckon he'll last?
Tough to call. I wouldn't be shocked if he did well and had them 10th-12th at the end of the season. I also wouldn't be shocked if they're in the relegation zone and he's sacked some time between October and December. How long do we reckon he'll last?
If he was named Stefan Bruciola he'd be heralded as Houdini the great. Not sure I get the hate for Bruce here, he seems like a nice bloke, very professional, failed at Villa after getting cancer sure, but otherwise he's done a decent enough job at many clubs at least over the short term. He's also been responsible for a few |Championship promotions in his time. He'd easily be the best manager Newcastle could get unless they want to take a chance on a young nobody or promote one of their own coaches or something. Ashley being a total cnut and ruining the club is nothing to do with Bruce.
He'll be a good manager. So much better than last week's.Good game good game
Reckon Ashley thinks he can lay the law down good and firm with Brucey over a pint of bitter, be done with all these egotistical feminine suit wearers.I like Bruce but any suggestion he's the best manager they could have gotten is just plain wrong in my opinion. They are paying a fee for him while managers like Claude Puel, Rudi Garcia, Gio van Bronkhurst, Ranieri and Quique Sanchez Florez are all freely available, all of whom I imagine would take it and all of whom i'd back over Bruce to do a better job.
Pretty long winded. He looked decent many years ago but he’s a rubbish appointment and a totally lazy one. Newcastle have gone backwards with this appointment. They should have took a gamble on a young progressive manager and not a lazy, unthought out appointment like Bruce.I wouldn't say he's a bad bloke at all, was sniping at our fanbase towards the end of his tenure (was same at Sunderland IIRC) and obviously a fan chucking the cabbage at him was very regretable but think that was just his frustration at knowing he was going to be sacked shortly so looking to deflect blame.
Having watched his style of play for two years, he's a gritty safety first manager. On the face of it you'd say not the worst manager to follow Benitez but at same time not a very inspiring coach either considering he's spent the last 4 seasons managing in championship (similar to McClaren) and he's replacing manager who had aura of a top level one.
He's not long ball like a Pulis or Warnock but still likes to put many men behind the ball and just rely on individual quality in final third to win tight games, something Newcastle really don't have atm unless he can really get Almiron going.
Casebook for me was our failed play off campaign on 17/18. We did a very good job nulifying Boro over two legs, barely gave them a shot with Jedinak fantastic. My problem however was thinking we couldn't play same way v Fulham in the final as they'd just pass around Jedi.
If anyone remembers the game our mindset was so negative first half. We just sat back and let Fulham get their passing game going, second half we stepped things up but only had two shots on target in the end. At end of game SB came out and said he couldn't understand why we were so passive in first half. This is a game where you nearly have two weeks to prepare for so total nonsense from him given manager adopts the tone for these sort of games.
That's why he's never made the top level as a manager despite manging many seasons in premier league in last 20 years. Good at getting a underdog spirit going and motivating players but the style of play is far too static and conservative. That's a problem when he spends money and the level of expectation in fanbase increases.
Or needs a job.Anyone taking that Newcastle job is spineless.
TrueOr needs a job.
Maybe... if he plays his cards right.I think Bruce will do alright,if he does get the Newcastle job that is.
Good question? Similar to how Mark Hughes and many others keep getting jobs. Why would any Premier League side hire him? He’s a poor manager.
Hopefully. That's Newcastle for the drop, isn't it?
