We have 4 priority positions now that RB is sorted. We can’t hope to challenge for the league if we dont buy strong CB, DM, AM and RF.

It’s only if we lost ambition and are happy with a top 4 finish - but the supporters won’t be happy with that
Football doesn't stop for ever at the end of this transfer window, or this season. What we need more than anything is a long term vision for the squad, which means the right players with the right mentality, not just the latest hyped player from Portugal or France in order to appease fans.

Getting back to the pinnacle of european football will take time and planning, if that means waiting 12 months for the right players to become available to buy or for our youngsters to develop into first team regulars then that's what the club will do, and rightly so.

What an odd thing to say. Sounds more like PSG are lowballing them because no one else is really moving for him and Napoli can't agree wages.
How is it odd that he doesn't want to see Pépé perform against his club in the league? We'd also rather not strengthen a rival.

Why not say we wont sell to a rival. The way its translated here makes it sound like he thinks Pepe has learned all he can from France and should discover other leagues.

I don't get the Liverpool link if genuine, does he want to warm their bench?
Back-up for Mane/Salah? It's difficult to improve their first team so it would make sense to strengthen their squad (although 80m seems like an expensive squad option). And why would he not want to join them? They just won the CL.

Highly doubt Arsenal have offered 80m after the summer they have had bidding wise. Can hardly pay 25 for Tierney.

Doesn't work like that. They must have their valuation of players. If they are not paying 25m for Tierney its not certain that they don't have the cash.

Similarly I think we are waiting to offload Lukaku, to have a better idea of our budget.
Disposals should be worked on in parallel anyway. Sell Lukaku, Darmian, Rojo/bailly, Joel Pereira, offload Sanchez - if any of the above is done, it’s for the good (and for the budget). But it doesn’t change the fact that we need a midfielder even if Pogba stays (certainly if he leaves we need 2 midfielders)

Nonsense. Lukaku is Conte's primary target yet they cannot come close to our valuation, but we have to believe they've agreed to pay 80 million euros for Nicolas Pepe? Sure.

Don't even get me started on Arsenal, who can't even afford a player from the fecking Scottish league.

Why don't Liverpool/FSG have money?
Last summer was their big splurge to try and win the league. It was largely financed by the coutinho sale despite what their mad fans were trying to claim.

They are a wealthy club but they are not at city levels and I think last summer was a one off.

It's a mistake in my view that United made several times also. Failing to strengthen from a position of strength.

Hope it costs them

Lads and ladies. I read somewhere Wolves are in talks to sign Sami Khedira and Moise Kean. Any reason why either one of them lads couldn’t do a job for us? Kean especially? Seems a great talent.

Instead of Kean, why not give the minutes to Greenwood!
Is Khedira the level we are now aiming for?

Khedira is like 32. And Kean is a good prospect but I think we have enough of those.

Okay with the Kedira part but Kean has the best goal to minutes ration in the whole of Serie A? There’s a lot of talent in Serie A and he seems like an out and out goalscorer? I’d bid £50m for him in a heartbeat.

I’m talking about if Lukaku leaves mate. Kean would do the trick. I think Khedira could still do a job for a year or two and would cost like 10-15m

Morata had the best goals to minutes ratio in La Liga the season before Chelsea bought him. That worked out well.

Looks like bullshit reporting imo - Inter and Arsenal don’t have that much available and are haggling even over their reported top targets.
