I can't actually believe this. I just can't until I see him holding up the shirt on our official site.

Unbelievable Jeff.

If you understood that I blame Ole in what I said, you should check with your doctor ASAP.
You've misunderstood me, wasn't talking about you but the current outrage of some fans against Ole, as if he does the transfers himself.

Arsenal are looking seriously good now on the front end, much better than I ever expected them to be. If these boys gel, then there is devastating attack potential there.

Defence needs at least 2 more signings however....

---------Lacca------
PEA---Özil----Pepe
-Ceballos-- Torreira

Ceballos comfortably our best midfielder, ridiculous talent shame he is only a loan player.

Need to realise though Pepe is only possible because of structured payments. When signing from other PL teams, they generally demand a lot more money up front. So in effect this big signing will be spread over many installments....kinda rare these days but suits Arsenal very nicely!

We wont sign a winger. If Lukaku leaves, maybe a budget striker,, like Ben Yedder or Dembele and thats it.

We lost our 2nd best CM and we finished below them last season and we've strengthened less than them so far, so.. yeah, they win.

At least they've replaced Ramsey. We haven't replaced Herrera, addressed our central defense, or our right wing.
They've brought in two players to compete for the first team, while losing their best midfielder and likely their best defender. That's not better.

Arsenal splashing 80m on a player. I have seen it all.
If we're talking installments, surely Arsenal can go buy a player worth anything (as long as the club accept it) but still be a low budget. Could even be 20m euros each year for 4 years. Good business if he works out though.

beyond scant rumours of Maguire, every other rumour is fed my BS merchants or we've already leaked we're not paying for them.

Also, the only reason we know of the Maguire interest is because Rodgers said they rejected our bid. If we aren't willing to pay for Maguire, then it's VERY likely we will not sign another player.
Scant rumours? feck me. Their own manager confirmed we made a bid. Why do people willfully find the most pessimistic take on line just so they can have a moan?

Good signing if true. I'm not overly bothered that hes not coming to us as I think we can do better but it is hitting a nerve thay we will be going into another season without a right winger.

Daniel James will probably play on the right of our attacking 3 with a striker up top. Purely because Martial and Sanchez when fit will play left.

------------Rashford
Martial--Bruno??--James/Lingard

Still not good enough in numbers for me. But its seems likely that we will just all out for Sancho next season.

Arsenal will have good numbers and quality now up top. Iwobi, lacazette, Aubameyang, Cabellos and Pepe.

Their midfield looks better now with Guendouzi starting his 2nd season and Torreira probably staying.

Its just their defence. It's a mess. If they dont bring some decent players in they will struggle again. Leaking too many goals is their problem and needs to be addressed.

I mentioned Rodgers comments, you even quoted them. Since Rodgers made that comment, how many updates have we had from the BBC or journo's like Simon Peach to confirm continued interest or even that it was likely to happen?

scant
adjective
very little and not enough:
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/scant

Hence my post saying, scant updates on Maguire would likely mean that if we moved away from Maguire that it is VERY likely we will not sign a player in the time remaining.

Ed briefing that we didn't want him anyway after Pepe turned us down?

I mean, surely if Stone or anyone else reliable knew this all along, why didn't they tell us before he signed for someone else?

Maybe. Who knows?

For some reason when I typed that I thought they had CL football. Now I've come to my senses it seems less likely.

Just a thought, prompted by the fact that it isn't very impressive for these journalists to tell us how ITK they are, after something has happened.

Good signing for them. feck knows how they plan on playing. Assuming they get Tierney (doubt they will), and keep the rest... Its way too attacking. Going to be a mess defensively but fun to watch!

Auba Lacazette Pepe
Ceballos Toreira Guendouzi
Tierney Sokratis Trash Bellerin

People writing off Arsenal in this window.. if this happens seems they and Spurs are making a statement of ambition in this window whilst our statement seems to be 'lets consolidate 6th place'. If we dont see some signings before the window closes next season could be another horror show. Pathetic really.

How blind do people have to be to still act like sheep and see everything through red tinted glasses after all the mismanagement for years and yet another dissapointing transfer window?

Fantastic signing for Arsenal. Think he will be an absolute star in the PL.

Dare I say it but signing shows some ambition.

Arsenal looking stronger as are Spurs.

Thank God for Ashley Young.

You did, after refering to it as a 'scant rumour.'
Rumour
Noun
a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth
We aren't getting a running dialogue of everything that's happening at the club. We've not heard anyone of worth saying we've given up on him either. What we do know Leicester have approached other CBs, someone they wouldn't do unless they were seeking a possible replacement. So no, it doesn't mean it is 'VERY likely' we won't sign another player.

Good signing and be another kickin the balls if we don't do any other business. Whilst signings are there to ultimately improve you team, for me it's also a sign of intent, ambition and excitement from the fans. I'm sure Arsenal fans will be much more excited now about their season and maybe they plan to do a Liverpool and city, and blow teams away by half time...?

Act like sheep? listen to yourself. Don't worry, I think you're a front runner for biggest moaner of the week. A couple more testicle twisting posts and it's in the bag.

It is though. We've brought in one proper first teamer and lost another.
We've brought in one first teamer that will improve is exponentially, and another that will improve the squad, while we lost our second best midfielder. Arsenal have lost their best midfielder and will lose their best defender, while adding two players, one of which will be returning to Madrid at the end of the season.

If Arsenal end up the window with this guy and Tierney, on top of Saliba, they've done some great business.
Wouldnt call that great. Saliba is being loaned back and is merely a potentially decent signing. Pepe is very expensive and it's doubtful whether he can replicate his French form in England. Tierney is good but not PL winning great. They've yet to adress their poor defense. Koncielny wants out and Ramsey hasn't been replaced. Gone backwards imo. What kind of club with title ambitions loans a player from a European rival with no buy option? Small time.

Meanwhile Ed wastes the majority of the window quibbling over £80 million or not for Maguire while other players available in positions we desperately need join our rivals. Never mind we still have Lingard and Mata to cover that position ... Sheesh... U couldn't make it up.. Joke of a club.

This is a bit of a puzzling one for me.

I’d argue that Arsenal don’t really need him, especially compared to other teams - say us...

To me Arsenal are quite well stocked in attack and whilst it does improve them, it’s not a significant improvement on their current resources who can play that position. Yet they pay 80m.

Whilst we are screaming out for a RW/RAM - yet don’t seem to be making any significant waves. I would argue that he would actually improve us and be worth the 80m.

I get that. But you’ve missed my point. If I had a whole game highlight reel of you. I can tell if your control is good or not. I’m not talking about his overall play. I said his touch from what I’ve seen is not levels for a top team in tight games. Hell it could improve, it’s just what I’ve noticed.
No I get that the point is all that is irrelevant and that is why scouts are sent to games . At a live game you see a players work rate you see what he does off the ball which is as important if not more so than having a good 1st touch .

I don't think this chap is a £72m player. He isn't as quick as one would think and his dribbling ability from a technical POV isn't very good at all. I'm glad we didn't sign him tbh.

Federido Chiesa is the winger we should go for IMO.

Can Any regular ligue 1 viewers explain how good is he ? He is quite quick in Fifa though.

If he is any good, arsenal will get top 4 above us and Chelsea.

I am jealous. Would trade Martial for this guy. And pay 50 mil.

Where did Arsenal come from. Were we used as a shill?

Him on the right side would open so much space for Rashford

He was second best scorer after Mbape. 20 goals.

Probably 5 times more goals than all of our wingers combined last season.

We need a prolific scorer.

Or maybe Lille briefed press to say we did to force a bid from the teams who were?
