I really doubt he'll play if any of those recent rumours were true... I've been hoping and I'd love to see him play for us this season. But I for one is going to count him out if he plays today

I disagree here. With a pure DM sitting and shielding the back four I think this could work. Pogba will probably be better defensively if some of the burden is taking off him being the sole creator from midfield. He's a beast physically and Fernandes from what I've seen isn't adverse to sticking his foot in.
Both of these guys are CM's, not #10's. They should be more than capable of playing in a midfield 3 with an anchor behind them. As somebody mentioned, Pogba played in a midfield 3 with Pirlo and Marchisio, neither of whom were great defensively, and it worked like a charm. He's played deep in a double-pivot for United previously and for France too.
I want this guy. Lovely player and I think he will suit our needs just fine.

Plenty of talk of this chap and Savic being replacement for Pogba should he leave. I don't see Pogba leaving so I'm extrenele skeptical of either signing happening. I still believe we need a playmaker and RW far more.
Interesting to see how many of those passes were actually from deep. Certainly not a position a traditional number 10 would be in so often. His playstyle reminds me of Scholes. Great scorer of goals, has great long shot technique, isn't afraid to make a tackle (well he is better than Scholes at that), and has the capability to switch flanks + point of attack instantly with some great long passes.
The only player who tackled worse than Scholes was Cantona

Because the reports are fake
Its generally not a good idea to believe or disbelieve anything until something more credible is reported (as in, plans for a medical etc).
