I'd love to see that.

A midfield 3 with Pogba and Bruno in there. A front 3 with Martial, Rashford and Dybala.

But we really lack a holding midfielder. Wish we were in for one.
Names on paper might look good to you, but none of those 3 can play on the right, therefore it wouldn't be an effective attack whatsoever

To echo previous sentiments my mate who is an avid Juve supporter said he’s world class but in a very specific position and role. That would explain why he doesn’t get a lot of chances for Argentina seeing they have this one bloke who’s name escapes me that plays in that position and role.

So, applying that to our team, how would we likely have to set up to get Dybala in that specific role?

Martial or Rashford can play out wide with freedom to come inside.

We used a similar structure against Tottenham at Wembley. Lingard was the #10 then.

They have a good relationship.

"It was great to see to see Paul again because we're good friends," the 24-year-old told reporters on Thursday(after our CL games with Juventus).

"The first game [at Old Trafford] was amazing for me, and the second for him.

"But it was just nice to play against him. We have remained in touch since he left [Juventus].

"We're still very close and who knows, maybe in the future we can play together again on the same team..."
Pogba and Lukaku are great friends too . They even holidayed together

oh boy. I feel he'd be absolutely perfect in Ole's 4-2-3-1 just behind Martial (or Rashford) ... if he really wants to come, this could be magical. Still a big "if" though.

If Dybala comes it means fewer games for Lingard and Mata. I think he's similar to Coutinho in his playing style and position. However, Dybala plays more on the right in contrast to Coutinho.

Even while giving Lukaku whatever respect he's due, he simply doesn't fit in this side. I certainly can't imagine Dybala would be less effective for us than Lukaku would be, so in that sense it's a definite good deal and one we should be very pleased with.

I guess my question would be if we got a big fee for Lukaku instead, how many other potential buys are there who would suit the team better than Dybala? Is this the biggest possible upgrade we could make from this position when taking team balance into account?
Personally I think our lack of creativity from midfield is almost as big an issue as our permanent lack of RW, so Dybala does smack of vanity over necessity in that respect.

To be honest, he's probably not the smartest way to spend our cash tbf but feck it, I'm still excited. I've clearly learned nothing from the last 6 years!

Can't see Pogba being all that desperate to leave with his best mate from his old club about to rock up, they had great chemistry and it's a huge statement of intent from us. According to reports Pogba wants to be at a club challenging for trophies and he's not necessarily unhappy with United but unhappy with where we are as a club, we'd certainly be heading in the right direction with this accquisition.
I suspect it may be further down the line than that but I was surprised to see him play today so perhaps it's not. Funding has to be a big issue for Real since they seem unable to get enough money in sales. They're also not against making lots of noise without really intending to buy in order to unsettle players for the following window when they can afford them. De Gea for instance.

I absolutely love him (even during his Palermo days), but feck me if we are going to stick him at RW really no point in making the deal.

Juventuz forum in full meltdown mode atm.
He can play at right cam, especially now we have wan Bissaka bossing the right flank. Same way Liverpool use their full backs for width.

He is still fast enough to get past people, he isn’t mata. Can defo play at right cam and drift.

Can I please stop reading that we cannot buy both Dybala and Bruno?

- Top/World Class players can play anywhere in the front line, and Dybala usually starts from the right. And he is a forward! Besides an interchanging front three is always the best option.

- Bruno is creative and prolific yes, but is also hardworking, and he is a midfielder!

We lack creativity and players to beat their man, we only had Pogba to perform these. Bring anyone you can to resolve this.

Yep. I believe it will be a Griezmann-France type role. 10 at times and RW at others. Either way, being allowed to change and criss cross throughout play.

The most important thing is that Sky are reporting that it still needs Dybala to agree to the move.

I don't care how good or bad he turns out to be but this is worth it just to get Lukaku out of the club. To get Lukaku out AND get this guy in is an unbelievable bonus.

This is happening folks. Sky sports going all in on tv about it just terms with the player to do
The way we throw money at players if we can't offer Paolo fecking Dybala a good wage then someone needs their balls slapping into pate.

If we do sign him and play 4-2-3-1 I would like to see us try this

Martial
Rashford - Dybala - Greenwood
We have another friendly right?

Pretty much.

We get rid of Lukaku and bring in Dybala.

Major win.

Wow, this transfer window has been like nothing else. I posted literally yesterday morning that I had a sinking feeling about this window, with the likelihood of no signings. 36 hours later, here I am, full steam ahead on the good ship Muppet! Football - bloody hell.

All throughout the pre season games, our front 3/4 have all interchanged positions, that's where we'll get the best out of Dybala (if we get him) give him the freedom to roam between the oppositions midfield and defence, he'll do the rest.

Wow so this is actually happening?!
I have got concerns about his physicality but no doubting his technique.
Consensus seems to be we play him as 10 or 9.5 so just in behind Rashford with martial, James either side. Then mctominay and pogba at the base?
I firmly believe mctominay will shine this year so I’m not too concerned about Longstaff but would be good if we could get him too.
