I really don't want us to cancel the Bruno Fernandes deal, but can we really bring in both? Is Dybala quick enough to play wide right, or is that like playing Mata out there? From what I've seen he looks like Mata with acceleration and a better shot.
They don’t even play the same position.

One is a CM the other is a second striker

So what's the latest? Anything concrete? I cant be bothered to go through all the pages, must have been about 10 new pages in a couple of hours .
Just seen sky report that we have agreed a swap deal in principle

He's quicker than Bernardo Silva who plays wide right for City.

I was thinking more of the financial outlay really. Hopefully if we're going 4231 from now on, Bruno or Pogba plays either the 8 or 10, and Dybala is on the right.

everclear is a cool band. yeah they still exist.
I genuinely don't want him. First, we should stop getting players for massive fees that have already shown signs of decline. I know, Dybala is 25, but he is coming of a weak season.
Second, is he really all that? For a supposedly world-class striker he doesn't score enough. He isn't that quick and doesn't seem to be the easiest to handle.
This reminds me so much of Alexis.

Sky Italia reporting the two teams have agreed to a swap deal. Now the ball is on Dybala’s court and he is going to decide if he wants to move to United or stay at Juve.

Unsure how I feel about this. Unless it’s Mbappé, I don’t want any player to stop us from possibly going to Jadon Sancho next year. He’s the one.

Also, much as I love Dybala (I was totally sold on him coming here before we got Sanchez, and was sceptical about Sanchez for that reason) - but I am in the camp of curiosity of how it would work tactically. He is a very gifted player and capable goalscorer to the extent that in a perfect storm, if the system came together - he could be our Cantona. That said, I can’t see how it will happen.
If we were to get Sancho next summer it would be to replace Sanchez. We would then have Martial, Rashford, Dybala, Sancho, Greenwood rotating the 3/4 attacking positions with an unbelievable amount of fluidity in their positioning.

His agent is in London to meet with us. We've reached an agreement with Juve for the swap and it's all up to Dybala who will decide in the next few days and come to Manchester to sign if it's a yes. Apparently.

Id rather Dybala through the middle to be honest. He doesn't like playing on the right either does he? Wasnt that one of the issues at Juve last season?

More a case of Dybala, Rashford, Martial and probably Greenwood would likely be put into the side over the coming seasons. Plus Sancho. They can’t all be in the first XI, and I can’t see any as regular subs. Maybe Greenwood for another year or two perhaps.
It'll be funnier next year when

My prediction for what will happen first game of season: We will play 4-2-3-1. Dybala will start, so will Lingard. Lingard will play no10 and Dybala shunted out to the right. Dybala will play badly and be subbed off. Next game it will be Mata on the right, Lingard no10.

I am ******* for the future only, not for now.

Fantastic signing for you guys if it happens. I'm actually a bit jealous of this one as I think he is pure class.

I’m not really that concerned with Spurs to be honest. If I was I’d go on a Spurs forum.
I was asked to give my view on Dybala to United. So I did. And then you jumped in to attack my view, even though I said that Dybala will improve United, possibly a lot.

I doubt they would announce the deal in principle if it wasn't agreed between Dybala and United... I think this is done.

Id rather play him centrally, but the same goes for Mata, and went for Kagawa, and any other number 10 we've butchered by shifting them to the wing. In an ideal world we'd sign a proper winger, but hopefully next summer.

Whatever means less Lingard though is fine by me.

Not in the first XI he won’t. My issue is that he is not a Shaqiri or something who will be brought in to provide cover. These are all starting players (potentially), and as a result, we may opt to not go for Sancho.

bruno fernandes is not a centre mid, not last season anyway. he has just become cm since people want to shoe horn him into a team full of number 10s
Even though he played the majority of his games last season at CM hes not a CM.... right

It's also not so much all of that, as the fact he would clearly be signing for us due to his hand being forced, rather than actually wanting to play for us.

It will just be an indicator we have learned nothing from our recent strategy or mistakes.

I understand we lack goals without Lukaku, but that isn't solved by just treating footballers like trading cards and hoping it somehow works out.

And then @Berbaclass jumped in to attack my view - even though I said that Dybala will improve United, possibly a lot - simply because I think that Lo Celso is a better fit for Spurs.

It's typical of some posters on here - they wade in to attack almost anything I say, and then have the gall to accuse me of hi-jacking the thread.

Except in that scenario Greenwood would be 18/19 and Sancho 20/21 - they can handle not playing every game at that point. Having five top class options for the four attacking positions is what we will need if we are to get back to where we should be.

I will be devastated at this point if this doesn't happen
Dont worry, all the signs are looking good. i dont think either clubs would let this leak out if they weren't confident the players would agree. having (and keeping) pogba will be crucial in his decision.

From the 3 years he averaged more than 20 goals a season. Last season was his worst for 5 years. And that has to be down to one reason - Ronaldo.

Ah, the old 'in the shadow of the GOAT' problem. Neymar can relate.
Not really comparable though, is it? Dybala was immense at Juve before Ronnie, struggling after he joined. Neymar looked immense with Messi, struggling to really make a mark after leaving him.
