That would involve him hitting the target against a quality opponent - he’s not capable of doing that. I don’t mind players who play for Utd that are not ‘top quality’, but they need to make up for it in dedication and application.

Lukuku is a poor player, who is also overweight, completly unfit, who lacks professionalism, who has no dedication and is happy to thrown his teammates under the bus.

What a great guy to have around.

He is also our best striker, which is part of my point. I'd have had no problem replacing him with Dybala, but as it stands, I'd rather have him then no one.

And you'd keep Pogba despite he doesn't want to be here?
I would. Entirely different situation when Pogba's our best player by some distance and our midfield cannot function to any kind of level without him. It isn't unreasonable to suggest we're a better team without Lukaku in the side.
Rashford martial Sanchez are all inconsistent and not reliable for whole season. We saw th evidence of it last season.
Consistent and reliable aren't the adjectives I'd use to describe Lukaku either. I'd take my chances with those players and Greenwood.

If he did gain too much weight he could lose by doing a huge calorie deficit and losing a lot of weight. I honestly think it would do him good. His biggest problem is endurance and stamina, i don’t think he needs his size as much as he thinks. Working with Ronaldo would do him wonders I think. Always liked his sharpness and I think he can still grow tons. Was hoping he would be our next Rooney. Was at his first united game in LA- will never forget that start of he season

Lukaku regularly goes on huge goal droughts and his finishing is totally erratic.

I wouldn't say he's in any way reliable.

If true, it may explain why we’ve walked away from Dybala. Hopefully we’ve other more suitable targets lined up.

He has scored 100 epl goals. We are a shit team and everyone flops in our team and don't know how to take out the best from players. You add creativity and service to him he will score. We can atleast use him for top4 and Europa league.

Another embarrassing post.

As I said Pathetic.
The only one pathetic here is you. Not actually contributing anything to the discussion about Lukaku, but being offended by a silly joke that the poster which was aimed took it in his stride and gave a good comeback.

I hope Lukaku leaves even if we don't get Dybala.
He is a waste of space.
Rather see Greenwood come on.
We had same opinion about Fellaini right? The midfield collapsed last season in the race for top 4 . No matter how bad Lukaku is .. if our attack like last season goes out of form and is injured we will be in for a terrible time.

Pragmatic decisions are wise decisions in most of the cases.

Sounds very much like Ole does not have Lukaku in his plans. And tbf to Lukaku, he wont want to play second fiddle to Greenwood.
A move will be right for all concerned.

Alexis Sanchez has scored over 100 league goals across his career too. He is rightly acknowledged as a dud.

Lukaku doesn't fit the system we want to play, has a poor attitude and crucially isn't good enough that we'd want to build the team around him. I'd rather we got a replacement in the form of a goalscoring right winger, but I certainly won't be losing any sleep if and when Lukaku goes.

Fair enough, thanks for answering it honestly.

Ole has never even managed full season in the epl , he will be doing a terrible mistake out of inexprience if he lets him go without replacements and depends on a 17 year old kid to bail us out.

With the midfield we have I can bet the hypothetical style and system we want to play won't be possible for more than 3 months. The midfield won't be able to match the energy and press of the supposed front men , we will be back to counter attacking football and Lukaku can play in it.

If you step back, the situation we find ourselves in is entirely Woodward's doing.
Ole determined Rashford was the main striker shortly after he came in.Whole summer and we have not got this done.

We should have got a striker in by now.
Midfield. Same story.

Massive mismanagement.

I see the argument. Better to try players who might one day be top-class than stick with someone who never will be.

Did ole target any natural right winger or central midfielder? It falls on him too. Rivals have strengthened with Pepe and ndombele , where were we?

Yes it's Woodward's fault for getting drawn into this swap deal but we haven't targetted other players either.

Can't help but think this was all part of the plan. Sell Lukaku and not replace him and use his fee to pay for Maguire.

Lukaky typical season is made of 5 games where he scores a total of +10 goals. That's the main issue that I have with him is lows are very low and his highs are very high, he is totally unreliable.

Heck, he’s already done that. How much bigger do you want him?

Indeed but only one of them is supposed to be in his prime. If Martial is like that at the same age and with similar milrage then do not hesitate to get rid of him too.
