Levy doesn’t really like us though, I’m sure he’d rather lose him on a free abroad next summer than sell to us.
One thing Levy doesnt like is losing cash. He'll drain us of every penny, but he won't want to lose him for free.

Aside from money, what would be his motivation to move to us from a footballing perspective?

Can't believe it's taken this long for a semi-serious link to be made between Eriksen and us, he's the type of player we have been crying out for for years.
I was very surprised when he initially moved to the PL and it wasn't to United. He fitted the profile like a glove, even though he'd have probably played a little deeper for us. There is zero evidence of this being a deal, and for a million different reasons it is not something that will be happening in the foreseeable future.

I really like him, but highly doubt this is anything more than twitter gossip

Yep. Seems unlikely. Money is a huge factor, but he can get both (money & trophies) at a few other clubs (Madrid). They haven’t showed much interest yet though, but he might as well just wait a year and sign for any top team on a free with a nice signing bonus and pay rise.

Play for a bigger club, get it back to where it belongs. I’d be surprised if United and Liverpool weren’t the best supported clubs in Denmark (after Barcelona maybe).

But surely he has better options..

I'd honestly take Eriksen going to United right now if it meant we got Fernandes and Lo Celso this window.

And yes, I mean both. I think we need 2 creative players to come in and replace him, and it's not like we'd be overloaded with midfielders in that scenario anyway.

It won't happen though. He wants a move to a Spanish giant and imo will wait out his contract then sign for Madrid on a free. Which is shit.

A senior member of Spurs backroom staff, has been extremely reliable for the past few seasons. Let me know regarding Ndombele about two weeks before he signed that it was a done deal.

I get the huge difference in prestige of the competitions but we are considerably more likely to win the Europa than Spurs are the Champions League. As for using the stadium to criticise us :lol::lol:
Come on OT is hanging these days. A big shiny stadium is lovely!

Can’t see Madrid coming in for him next year, even on a free. If they get Van Der Beek this summer they will have too many midfielders, especially as they will more than likely becoming back in for Pogba.

It's possible Spurs will be forced to try and take whatever they can get for Eriksen, If they're certain the alternative is him going for free.

There were rumours Levy offered him to RM for 70 odd earlier in the window...

I don't see why Eriksen would agree to go though? Better to choose his destination in January and pocket part of £50m or whatever as a signing bonus.

That kind of deal is the future of the transfer market imo. Why let the club take your value?

Totally agree and its what will bring the stupidly high transfer fees down.

Maybe Barca then if they move on Coutinho. Either way one of the big clubs on the continent will be in for him and I imagine that's where he goes .. from the Prem I could only see City attracting him.

The reason is likely financial security. You risk the possibility of injury without having a long term contract. It’s great to choose your destination, but most players believe they can do it even with several years left under contract anyway (see Pogba).

I suppose any fan could ask the same question to any transfer that happens every year. Very few players take a pay reduction to move clubs, unless they absolutely have to.

Probably possible to insure that risk at Lloyds if player wanted to.

Pogba will probably run down and do similar. Then can get Real and Barca to bid up signing on fee, given I believe he won't go anywhere else.

Now transfer fees got so high, massive incentive to do it.

Going to be interesting to see what happens with Eriksen till end of the window and in January assuming still at Spurs.

It might be lovely but it's not one of the most iconic stadiums in the world, which Old Trafford definitely is...

Can’t believe anybody wouldn’t want him here, he’s head and shoulders above all of our midfielders Pogba included.

If Spurs signed Lo Celso and Fernandes then Eriksen is leaving 100%.
They were never going to sign both and recent reports suggest they're actually signing neither (not offering what either club wants for their players with Betis now apparently refusing to deal with them at all such is their displeasure of being low-balled)

Red Card for Casemiro!

Very few midfielders in world football are better than Pogba. And that's the inconsistent version I'm talking about.
If he overcomes those dips and phases when he disappears - best in the world without a doubt.
