I was listening to Duncan Castles' podcast (I know he talks shit, but the podcast is quite insightful)
They were talking about how delighted a lot of European clubs are that the English window closes early, because all they have to do is wait for after the 8th of August, and then the English clubs are taken out of the equation, and therefore the price for players comes down.
Top clubs in Europe (Real, Atletico, Juve) are waiting for United to be out of the running, cos they know they will be able to get Eriksen at a knock-down price. I imagine Levy will be happy with this as well because he won't want to strengthen a Top-4 rival.
