25M for Rojo is actually a great piece of business by us. It isn't another signing like we all want, but at least we've managed to find a taker for some of our deadwood that people have been moaning about us not selling this summer, and for a decent fee at that.

We literally had Woodward come out last year and say the financial success of the club was not reliant on what happened on the pitch. We had examples of well run, 21st century clubs to look to. The Moyes mistake could have been forgiven as sentiment and inexperience on the part of the club, but after that the leaders in our boardroom had to take stock, look outside their own experience and egos and acknowledge what was working elsewhere.

Barcelona, Bayern, City - clubs who are structured in such a way that a change of manager doesn't instantly result in an entire upheaval of every aspect of the club.

Pep Guardiola, seen as the new messiah and competition for Fergie's legacy, didn't come to City until Begiristain had been there to lay the ground work behind the scenes for a few years.

Klopp who has worked miracles at Liverpool, met with Woodward and walked away because he couldn't get on board with Ed's vision (or lack thereof) for the club. He clearly didn't have the same reaction to his meeting with Liverpool's owners and the last two years have shown he made the right decision.

It's not as simple as picking the right manager from a hat and everything will sort itself out. Rather than blaming all the managers who have failed, we should be pointing out fingers at the people setting them up to fail from above.

We have made 3 well thought out signings. The Maguire one took too long when we all suspect he could have been signed and bedded in during the pre season tour. He could have been signed for less money last summer. The idea that Leicester wanted to be thrashing about trying to replace him in the last few days of the window is absurd.

We also needed to sign a right winger and having lost Herrera, a midfielder. Yes it is difficult to sign five players in a window but for a club with our resources and in the position we find ourselves, it was important we fixed the blatant issues.

Three summers ago, City signed a keeper, two right backs, a centre back, a left back, a central midfielder and a right winger - all for their first team squad. They went on to win immediate back to back titles.

I would be too,he's being set up as the scapegoat by fans once the season starts while the club have shown less ambition than most midtable sides this window

If the fans are sick of this shit,I can't imagine how the players in the squad with any ambition must feel

Considering the pittance spent yet again, I’d write him a check for 5M to just be quiet this season until he gets his move next summer.

When a youngster with, what, 8 first team games, is being quoted at £50 million, £25 million for an Argentine international who can play in 2 positions is a bargain.
