The fitness plan better work because I want to see the first 15 games of Ole back.

    What you mean 'too'.

We've looked good if you watch pre season games rather than crying over the transfer carnage.
Oh damn, forgot about pre season which definitely is a great reference point to how the season will pan out.

Really ready to get out of the transfer bubble. Really important that we get off to a good start this year. I predict the following starting 11 against Chelsea:
    ————-Martial—————
    James—Rashford—Lingard
    ——Pogba—-McTominay——
    Shaw-Lindelöf-Maguire-AWB
    —————-DDG——————

Don’t have too high hopes i must say, but hoping we’ll scrape a 1-0 or at best a 2-0.

    Reckon its gonna be:
    DDG
    AWB
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Shaw
    McTominay
    Pogba
    James
    Lingard
    Rashford
    Martial

Subs: Romero, Jones, Young, Fred/Matic, Perreira, Mata, Greenwood.

Would expect us to win this by a couple of goals.

1st game of the season and in terms of team mentality its a must win due to us going up against a Top 4 rival. Lose and I think even after the first 90 minutes you could feel the confidence start to run away.

I thought this was a lunch time kick-off, thankfully it's 16:30 so I've got an excuse not to watch as I have family stuff. I'll go 0-0 as they've got no striker and we've got 2 who fail us more often than not and no midfield. I'm not going to bother guessing at a team as beyond GK, the back 4 and Pogba it doesn't matter, the rest are interchangeable mediocrity.

I think we'll beat them, 2-0 with Martial and Rashford getting 1 each.

Seems like most are roughly in an agreement of what we think the team will be, rather than what we want it to be.

    De Gea
    WanBissaka Maguire Lindelof Shaw

    McTominay Pogba

    Greenwood Lingard Rashford

    Martial

    I’ll still take that.

As long as Matić and Mata don't start I'll be happy.

Would like to see Greenwood given chance to start, but if not then James on the right with Lingard in the hole, Rashford left and Martial up-front.

Hope for 3 points, but have a bad feeling we'll draw.

I’d take that too, but I think Mata or Matic will start.

Back 5 picks itself. I fully expect MacGyver to start. For me it’s a no-brainer to play with Pogba and McTominay in a midfield two. I really hope we don’t start with Matic.

Martial should be at the tip of the front four with Rashford on the left. The CAM and RW position is uncertain, but I’d love to see Andreas Pereira as the CAM because of his great pre-season form. I’d go with Lingard on the right due to his good pressing and movement.

I don’t think Rashford has played a single game as a center attacking midfielder under Solskjær (or any other manager) ever so that makes little sense.

So no ins - sticking with my predicted formation, and a 0-0 scoreline.

Chelsea might be lacking going forward, but so are we. Neither team is going to want to start off with a demoralising loss, expect a cagey and highly boring affair. They'll simply stick two men on Pogba every time he gets possession and hound him, and we then have nobody to hit a killer ball and creative anything. Just like last season, basically.

I expect this will be the starting xi. I hope I'm wrong:

    De Gea

    AWB Maguire Lindelof Shaw

    Matic Pogba

    Mata Lingard Rashford

    Martial

Bench: Romero, Smalling, Young, McTominay, Pereira, James, Greenwood

    Prediction: Utd 1-0 Chelsea (Rashford)

I think we are ready for the season.

Watched our preseason games, fitness wise - we're ok.

I think we will start like this :

    De Gea

    AWB Maguire Lindelof Shaw

    McTominay Pogba

    Mata Lingard Rashford

    Martial

James on for Mata in 65'
Greenwood on for Martial at 78'
Pereira on for Lingard at 78'

I just hope our manager and the backroom staff know that Matić can't fecking start this game.

Maguire should blend in just fine. He's had a good preseason as well so i've read.
Other back three are on top.
    McTom is a beast.
Hope the real Paul Pogba shows up. We will need him.
Also hoping for James and Greenwood to bring up the intensity right to the whistle.

Can't wait for this season to start!!

Not many people have James starting, I think he’s nailed on after pre season.

Wow - there’s nothing like a bit of optimism!

Come on - ball hasn’t even been kicked yet - what we are looking for is improvement and a change of style and definitely a change in Tempo - with a much more solid defence we should be able to free up the forwards more to create and actually go forward - let’s not kid ourselves that it’s going to be miraculously great but Rome wasn’t built in a day.....

We need to get behind Ole and the team - we’ve got what we’ve got now for the season and a good start could certainly lift the transfer gloom in the Caf!

    2-0 win

We've been down this same bullshit road for the last 6 seasons with the same phony optimism of trying to convince ourselves it's not a shit show. Ole looks out of his depth to me and Woodward is a clown, the midfield is pathetic and I'm sick of Rashford and Martial letting us down, there's only so many times you can get bitten before you need to realize someone can't be trusted and I'm at that point with those 2, especially given both displayed rotten attitudes in the latter half of last season. Add to that we'll be starting Mata who is finished and Lingard who is mediocre at best, and I see zero reason to pretend like this will be any different to the last 6 seasons of incompetence at every level.

I care about this season about as as the people in charge of the club.

About as much I want to watch an Opera or a documentary of fishing.
That's nice. Maybe better to take a hike and give up football.

I totally agree mate. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? Insanity.

Same goes for believing the same thing over and over. I've seen these players under 3-4 different managers - I have seen more than enough to know their limitations and capabilities. I don't expect anything different because I am not insane.

Maguire, James and AWB have my utmost respect and support though. However, these three won't make up for our deficiencies in midfield and attack.

Think we will win this comfortably. Think we will show our pace and power built upon our new stability. Our midfield is weaker in personnel but stronger due to the better back 4. I can’t see anything in this Chelsea team to concern us
