Excitement for tomorrow just took a little bit of a hit finding out that Jose will be in the studio for it. You just know his negativity will sink it’s way down to the players.
Yeah I bet all they'll think about is that Jose is in Sky studio..

I cant phantom why do people still think so much about him.

Very excited for the season to start for us now.

Looking forward to seeing people rating jones higher than maguire if we lose.

Would rather start with lingard than greenwood or james. Midfield is anyones guess, depends where we play pogba, if its further forward then mctominay and matic i would guess. Gomes at 10 if we play pogba in a two. Back 4 picks itself really.
Gomes was playing for the u23s if he was a full time senior he wouldn't be getting involved. He will play in the cups is my guess. The sad reality is if Paul plays deep the number 10 spot is Mata/lingard.

If that’s true I am guessing

    Pereira-Pogba
    Mata

    Lingard-Martial-Rashford

    We'll probably get tonked 4:0.
    No way.

I’m confident of a win here. Seems like the majority of other United fans are too.

    I’ll go 3-1 United.

No Matic, McTominay or Fred pictured.
Any idea why? CM is going to be woefully light. Maybe we'll play one of our CBs (Rojo?) at DM.

EDIT: Nevermind - just re-read and noticed that Matic and McTominay are expected to be in the squad.

Imagine they were injured for a minute. Negligent not to bring at least one midfielder in.

Someone replied to the tweet with a picture of McTominay which I assume was taken today (fits with the other pictures of players coming off the bus). Don't know why the United photographers missed him.

Fred and Matic not accounted for but I'd be very surprised if Matic wasn't in the squad.

Who do we expect to play on the right?

    Greenwood, James, Lingard?

They replied again saying they've not seen either. Honestly, under Ole it has pretty much always been that the squad at the hotel is the squad who will be at Old Trafford for the match with no new additions so I'm going to assume there is no Matic.

I'd guess team would be something like:

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Pogba
    Lingard Mata Rashford
    Martial

    Subs:
    1. Romero
    2. Dalot or Young (we know it'll be Young)
    3. Jones, Smalling or Tuanzebe
    4. Andreas
    5. Chong or Gomes
    6. James
    7. Greenwood

Would love it if it was Greenwood instead of Lingard or Mata.

    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw

    McT - Pogba - Fred

    Rash - Martial - James
Could easily replace Fred with one of Periera or Gomes. Disappointing not getting a new midfielder in but thems the breaks.

    3-1 United.

The 'you win nothing with kids brigade' will be in a minor state of shock come the end of the game.

I don't understand how people can put Mata in there. It's obvious it's going to be fast-paced and lots of pressing from both sides, and Mata would completely ruin it all by himself. Ole knows that he needs runners in this game, and he'd probably prefer to play Mata against parked buses. At least I hope so.

Midfield and attack is still an issue for me. Who will the three main men in the midfield be and with Rashford and Martial both most comfortable in the striker position how do we get the best out of the two playing a front 3. I'm assuming Martial on the left but where does that leave James?

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelöf Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Pogba Fred
    James Rashford Martial

Not sure about this lineup but I'll go with that.

I’ll take a scrappy 1-0 if we have to. Facing Chelsea this early is great for us as I have no doubt they’ll get better as season goes on.

All our rivals have come away with 3 points. Even at this early stage, we can’t let that gap get big.

A 2-3 point gap between us and City/Liverpool/Spurs can turn into 6 quite easily given we face our bogie team next.

No truth to the Lazio rumours then?
Thought Alexis was linked with Roma? Can't see us offloading him.

I'd prefer not to see Mata but I'm used to seeing him in these kinds of games when I think we'd be better off without.

Our newfound defensive solidity will be on display keeping a clean sheet, whilst Martial proves he's the man to wear the no.9 putting in a super performance. 2-0 to United. :D

Be pretty catastrophic if it's true that all those midfielders are missing

Probably because Mata was literally one of our best players in our last game against Chelsea, which was 3 competitive games ago.

I believe Lingard has more all-around to his game, even if that doesn't really include goals and assists. I imagine James will be the last 15 minutes of the match if the play has become stretched.
Lingard is shit though. I’d rather get James or Greenwood up to scratch through game time

    What?

Neither would play in this game either.

We are better than Chelsea and should win.
We were better than Huddersfield in our penultimate game last season. We drew. They got relegated.
We were better than Cardiff in our final game of last season. We lose. They got relegated.
    You get my drift?

Don't use logic on this forum.

So basically, spend £50m on a fullback to just play with no fullbacks at all?
Again....too much logic is being used and this forum is not the place for logic.

A bit on the cheesy side but gets me hyped for tomorrow nonetheless :keano:
He used to be a lot better. I feel like these days he pretty much just overlays Avengers trailer audio with United video and that's about it.
