Our midfield cannot afford to be asleep like it was in the first half today.

    Team should be...

    -------------De Gea-------------
    AWB--Lindelof--Maguire--Shaw
    ---McTominay---Pogba---
    James------Lingard------Rashford
    -------------Martial-------------

Subs: Romero, Tuanzebe, Young, Matic, Andreas, Mata, Greenwood

I didn't like Andreas today, either on the wing or as number 10 so I'd bring James into this one. To loose to these lot 3 times in 2019 would be embarrassing to say the least
Agree with that, one obvious tweak and keep it simple. Hopefully Ole agrees and doesn't try to be clever by bringing in Matic and Mata or something

I'd go with the same starting 11 again if i was Ole. The more Young,Jones,Matic are kept away from match day action the better and give the younger players more game time than Mata.

Confident of another win and clean sheet and what happened last season v Wolves needs to put to the past with a win here

A lot of nervousness at the start and also Rashford did not have his positioning worked out. Much better when team settled in the 2nd half. But agreed cannot afford to be asleep especially at home.

Fecking hate Wolves. We need to make sure our defensive transitions are on point, otherwise Wolves will hurt us on the counter.

They still compact in defence like last season? They used to start a back 3 but always ended up with 5 defenders.
Ye they hardly got out their half in the 1st half. Leicester dominated (despite not registering a shot on target until towards the end of the 90)

First shot on target wasn't until second half when Wolves came out better.

Disallowed goal by VAR, which was scrappy anyway.

It was a cagey game. Leicester lacked the quality to break wolves down, wolves lacked the quality to effectively counter attack.

All the talk of both teams having a better midfield than us is total bull.

Unless they drastically improve on today's performance, it'll be comfortable game for us.

Wolves are a counter attacking side. They will sit deep and allow us have most of the ball. This is where we struggle because we dont have enough technically gifted midfielders to unlock a defense that is sitting deep (Prime Mata would have been ideal for this match).

To win this game we need midfielders that can play intricate passes in and around the box.

Can't wait, but think it's a pisstake that we had to wait until the early evening Sunday game and then the subsequent game is on a Monday late evening!

I believe we can win this game. Still hurt my feeling how they beat us twice last season in the league. :(
They didn’t. Once in the FA cup and the other in the league. We also drew at OT.

We certainly owe the midlands plastic one! I’m sure The coaches have planned for this already. Will need a bit more in midfield I feel. Last season their full backs had a lot of time to bomb forward allowing their midfield to control the tempo.

We will need to be patient,a bit like today really.

Rooney's ball and van Persie's volley.
Has anyone made mention that this will be Ole's real first test against Wolves?
I understand your sentiment, but Chelsea has never really been an easy fixture for us, and the way it panned out doesn't mean that this test was any less. Had this not been the first but the last game of the season with the 4th spot at hand, your reaction would've been different.

Having said that, dreading Wolves away. A real six-pointer for the 7th spot.

Have to wait bloody 8 days for this.

I miss this feeling - winning and then wanting to have the next game ASAP.

Loved hearing Ole say that he is glad its Wolves next because the players have a point to prove after last season.

That is exactly the attitude that I want to see from the club

I think the team will be a great away team this season with the solid backline and devastating pace in attack.

I have a sneaking feeling Matic will be back in for this one, probably at the expense of Lingard.

A win here and I'd feel a lot more confident about what lies ahead.

I really want us to smash them. It was really annoying how they kept getting the better of us last season. I feel like Ole should have a point to prove here regarding his tactics against Wolves and this time around, he better get it right!

Confident in any game now that we have a decent CB pairing.

I'd play exactly the same team, with Pereira again in midfield. Its difficult to expect him, or others, to produce quality performances if they keep drifting in and out of the team. Give them a run of games and see what they can do. I'd put Fred on the bench instead of Matic.

Those two defeats last season on this exact same fixture is really what kicked off our dreadful form last season.

I hope we really put these lot two the sword because we have a point to prove.

On the away league fixture we should have been at least 3 up at half time and we were leading 1-0 for most of the game until Young fecked up. They tend to play a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 depending on how the game progresses so if we play a disciplined game and force them wide rather than crowd up the centre of the park we should be able to beat them.

By the way everyone says they have a better midfield than us - how is a C-class Merc and 2 VW sedans better than a Rolls Royce?

Three cars are better at carrying things than two, and on the same stretch of road can box the opposition in through superior numbers.

Caught up with highlights and saw couple of times Wolves attackers went on a break but couldn't finish. These guys would be up for the challenge against us for sure. We better finish our chances this time.
