How much longer can their luck hold out?
Reminiscent of what Liverpool fans said about us under Fergie. They scored a good goal and Southampton didn't copitalise on the better half they had, why does that make them lucky? It makes Southampton shite at scoring tbh

Mane is an awesome player. Not United quality apparently, same with VVD, Andy Robertson, Fabinho. Haha.

They are so jammy though.

Villa just shocking.
They were warned about making a load of signings. Also no good making a load of signings if they are not good ones.
Watching the game and I don't think they've been that bad. Just two individual errors cost them. Heaton rushing in, and Luiz leaving the ball thinking a teammate was behind him, resulting in Wilson getting a shot off that deflects off Mings and goes in.

Also, Billing probably should've had a 2nd yellow, imo.

I used to think they were lucky. But then it kept happening all of last season, and they're doing it again this season.

It isn't luck. They have elite players who will punish any kind of mistake and make the best of most openings.

That means even on days where the team is off, they will get wins, like today. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being 0-3.

Norwich dominant. Laughable that after 20 minutes away to Liverpool on the first day of the season we had posters declaring they’ll get the lowest ever points tally. Should stay up comfortably.

It's Bruce's Newcastle to be fair.

Now there's a team guaranteed for relegation unless they quickly correct that appointment.

We've done it ourselves so many times over the years. Look at PSG away last season, we were getting battered, but still pulled out a 3-1 win. Bet that wasn't luck to the people that complain Liverpool are constantly lucky

Can't say the same about Newcastle though.

LVG wanted him in the summer of 2015, the majority of redcafe didn't think he was "United quality" and wanted us to sign Pedro instead. True story.

LVG's eye for young talent was actually very very good. It's just a shame his tactical approach hadn't evolved with the times, or he would have been very good for us.
Didn't he reject us because of our style of play at the time? Don't blame him at all. Then we went and got that little gem, Depay..

As soon as Rafa left, Newcastle were relegated. Just going through the motions.

That is the advantage of having a good attack. It doesn't matter how shite the team play, as long as the frontline scoring goals.

Does Redcafe have power on players to sign?

Like you said, you were fantastic under Fergie. Plenty of games where I used to watch you and went 'United look shit here' and then boom, one of your ridiculous forward players would convert out of nowhere.

Fergie's late teams weren't a huge departure from Liverpool. Very strong in terms of attacking players, solid defence, but an uninspiring/functional midfield.

Especially considering their fairly recent history against Liverpool. And now a better Liverpool than the one with Suarez.

Exactly, bet their midfield and defense aren't even bothered about playing poor, they know the front 3 will always score no matter how shite they play. They are, unfortunately, an elite team who will most likely always find a way to win, just like us in our pomp..

Hazard, Sterling, Neymar, Ronaldo are all better.

Neymar doesn't play and hasn't done anything major in 2 years. Ronaldo transformed into a a CF, the LW version of him is not close to the best Left wingers of today. Sterling is not exclusively playing on any particular position but the whole front line. Hazard is better central to playmake.

It might be, yet against Klopps Liverpool they could’ve easily been 2 up, only conceded the first two due to a baffling oggy and a huge slice of luck. They’ll be fine.

You're probably right. They were comfortably the best in the championship and I know their manager is meant to be highly rated.

Didn't invest much but I'd prefer that as opposed to what Villa did, i.e scatter gun approach on a bunch of players of questionable quality.

Trips to the Etihad are never fun. It's nearly always just complete dominance for City and they scare the shit out of me going forward. Always constantly on the edge of my seat.

Even our biggest recent result there was actually a loss on the day .

They have a really young squad so priority was simply to keep hold of Aarons, Lewis, Godfrey, Buendia etc. All of them will have improved since the beginning of last season. Love what Farke has done there and on such a modest budget too.
