Not related with the topic but Javi Gracia deserves more credit this season than Nuno, he basically improved what Silva had at Watford and Wolves invested more. For me the player who improved more during the season was Jota but their 2 best players during the season were Moutinho and Doherty. Anyway Jota would struggle playing for a bigger club imo.

Wolves signed this lad for £17m and we get Fred for £47m. Fecking mental that is..

He's been pretty much up and down all season. More down than up if the Wolves faithful are to be believed.

Did anyone watch the game to see how he performed?

Im Portuguese and i dont even rate him that much to be honest. Although i cant conclusively say hes not good, he can definitely prove me wrong. He seems very lazy and bad at defensive positioning. I think he needs another season at wolves to refine his game.

For a first season he was ok with ups and downs during the season but would be better for him to stay one more there, anyway he isn’t a classic defensive midfielder, their season improved when Dendoncker settled on their midfield.

Agreed. I think it's best he stays put for at least another season.

Him or Jota, they are quality and underrated. People seem to giving the Wolves side plaudits but not Nuno ? He's thus far shown he's a very good coach, could be a force if had more resources at his disposal in my opinion.
Nuno needs to work out how to play against the lower teams in the table we’d have been in around the top 4 this season if he did. If we get a top class CAM to play behind Jota and Moutinho and a ball playing CB to replace Bennett that’ll go a long way.

Did you see his pass to Bernardo Silva for Ronaldo's 2nd.

He does that all the time.

I love him.
His long field passing is beautiful and sexy..

Besides that he was poor though but I think it had more to do with the tactics and formation used.

Hasn't he been average for Wolves as well?
From the games I saw he was inconsistent and from I saw at Molineux Mix they said the same. Moutinho was easily there best player followed by at least 3 other players ahead of Neves.

Not really average, just overshadowed by Moutinho!

I like what I saw of him in the highlights reel but a player has to be able to perform consistently to be genuinely highly rated. It's not enough to play the odd fancy pass and not really excel otherwise.

Moutinho, Doherty and Jimenez were better. Jota, Boly, Dendoncker were probably around the same level as Neves

He just seems a little slow and people tend to glide pass him. He does not break up play that often his main attributes are being able to pick the ball up from deep and ping it around and score the odd long shot.

Jota was better as well. Especially second half of the season.

He's had to play more defensively this season and not able to get in forward positions in the same way as he did last season but his pinpoint diagonal passing is still a joy to behold; having Moutinho alongside him is helping him no end.

Been wank all game but I wonder how many people are gonna want him off the back of that goal.

Yeah, he has around 55% pass completion in the first half. Now that he scored, it changes everything.

I don’t think he’s anything special. He just has a neat party trick which flatters to deceive. Not Top 6 level in my opinion.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
Not his best game, the goal was ace though. Still think he is a player we could really use. Not sure he would work well in a double pivot with Pogba though, if anything he might be more of a replacement candidate.

He wasn’t very good and could have been sent off.l for a second yellow. Noticed Martin Tyler stayed quiet then.

If he was wank where does that leave our bunch tonight?
Well our lot bossed him for every bit of the game except the goal, the only thing he did apart from getting booked.

Wasn’t his best game but people writing him off after watching one game, this place is so knee jerk
Straw man. Nobody is writing him off after the first game. Everyone is just saying he wasn't that good... which he wasn't.

Why was he even given all that space. I am sure part of the pre game analysis would have included that Neves is a danger from outside the box so don't leave him unchecked

This was a normal performance for Neves in the EPL. The game just passes him by.
