Will Rashford get as much stick as Pogba for his missed penalty?

Placed in the perfect spot to be saved and still would be if it was anywhere within a metre fecking radius. Just admit it was shite.
Yeah, this. It was a crap penalty, exactly where a keeper would want a penalty to go and nowhere near the corner. Rashfords was a couple of inches out of place. Pogbas was about a metre out of place.

Both poor penalties though, because neither went in.

Rashford deserves stick for continuing to take free kicks though. Jeez. What is he even trying to do with them?

Hopefully not.

In a way I blame all these penalty incidents on Neville. Yes you heard me, I'm blaming him for starting this ruckus. Now due to the commotion our penalty takers are put under huge pressure, even more so than usual.

No because now everyone who thought Rashford would have definitely scored on Monday will realise how wrong they were.

He’s the only thing keeping United even partially relevant in world football but ok.
It's the biggest club in the world. Bigger than any individual player, and a zillion times bigger than Paul Pogba. Is your playstation broken?

Neville better take some more helium today and deliver a rant on some social media platform where he's smashing into England's wonder boy for not even being able to hit the target.
There's more chance of him berating Pogba for not stepping up and taking the penalty today.

See, this is the shit I’m talking about.

How is Pogba’s “placed terribly” when the goalie just guessed right in which case it would have been a goal otherwise. But Rashford “just got it wrong” when he missed the entire fecking net???

The irony is delicious !
Pogba hit his pen in the worst place possible, not in the corner and not high. Rashford was just a few inches away from a great pen.

When you hit them as hard as Rashford does and aim for the corner this will happen every so often.

None of those you mention told us to hate Paul Pogba. Even if they did, would you listen to them or make up your mind?
If you spew that much poison about a particular player, singling him out every game for blame. What is the purpose of this?
My mind is that Pogba is the only good player in this average team guided by average management.

Rashford wouldn’t get as much stick because that ship has sailed. Everyone agreed that the reaction to Pogba’s miss was over the top, so why would it be the same?

No. Pogba was the world record signing, which comes with a load of press criticism if you don’t deliver. Not his fault, just the way it is.

Rashford came through the youth academy and took the world by surprise. Their situations are different in the eyes of the media.

No, but the problem is that Pogba should have got less/none, not that Rashford should get as much to even it out. The stick from me goes to Ole, sort your taker out and review after a missed pen. Have nobody in any doubt when the ref points to spot what happens next, otherwise you have a fiasco partly of your own making on your hands.

I can't wait until Pogba is gone... It's like Kagawa all over again. We seem to have fans that have little interest in United but are fascinated with the cult of Pogba.

Its like they believe world is against him, he's the Joseph Smith of Redcafe. I see posts crying "racism" when the discussion is regarding two black players. Then it's "scapegoating" despite there being literally no reason why any United fan would "scapegoat" a player.

Its so weird.

What's with the threads about wanting more criticism of other players than the one the poster is a fan of? There are like five already.

They're football pundits, their job is create as much controversy and talking points as humanly possible. Your problem, like many others on this forum, is you take them too literally.

Pogba was bang average today like the rest of the team.

It depends to what extent, Pogba is a flamboyant character so naturally people are going to take to him negatively. Rashford is more shy reserved in the perspective of how he represents himself in the media. Those two aspects have nothing to do with football but everything to do with how someone's going to be judged.

The truth is Pogba nor Rashford shouldn't be criticised for missing a penalty, Pogba is the sole reason Ole has got the job with his contribution last season. You can't have one without the other, he's a world class player on his day but he's also human. Not every player will reach the consistency in performances between people like Ronaldo and Messi especially when you consider how poor the quality of our team is.

Pogba should go because he does not want to be at the club period, he showed his loyalty the first time he left so to bring him back has been one of the biggest mistakes United have made, but hey shirt sales are more important these days than anything else for Bankchester United.

But in hindsight Rashford reminds me of Welbeck, and that's not a good thing, to be fair Welbeck started off well for United, but as time went on he fell off, I just don't see exactly where Rashford has improved since being promoted, and at times, he acts like he is Ronaldo, where he is more like Welbeck, quick, lanky, but bambi on ice, and those stupid pot shots from distance that never get anywhere are also very very annoying.

In hindsight if Pogba had not lost the ball then Palace may have not got that last goal, but overall United is just a mess all over the park, as well as calamity dave returning.

No but not for those reasons. Pogba’s lack of focus and previous pissing about with pens has annoyed people. He also placed it terribly where Rashford just got it wrong by a few inches.
Goodness gracious me. Talk a thinly veiled attack. More people would have more respect for people who came out and just admitted they don't like him instead of trying to hide behind things like this quote above.

Last time I checked in footy if you're going to miss, you rather make the keeper work for it. Here this poster rather have the keeper do nothing compared to a keeper who guessed the right way and save a players shot. Mourinho and the media really have done a number on some of these "fans"

Oh shut up. I'm one of the only people that gave him some praise in his performance thread today. Can't stand people that run with this line based off a bit of criticism. Absolute bane of the forum.

Well I have been supporting since 74 and I think Pogba is fantastic. An outstanding midfield player.

There may well be new fans here because of Pogba, but I am sure we picked up many others with Ronaldo, Van Persie, Park, Beckham and even further back the likes of Whiteside & Olsen.

My wit's end
Pogba got a small amount of stick from Neville, who then instantly took it back.

Other than that, there was nothing much beside Twitter trolls who do that to everybody.

Lingard gets a lot more stick on this forum. Maybe that's because he's English and because of his race.

Rashford misses his first in 7 tries. Pogba missed his 5th out of 15, missing 1/3 of his penalty's

But he will be singled out every time. Think of it this way, Ole has been shit since appointed. Will a bad word be spoken about him from the same people.
I am answering why people hate and blame Pogba. I don't blame him, I think he is doing the best he can with the shit around him.

No because,

1.) He’s English
2.) Doesn’t fit the media’s/fans agenda
3.) Thus not the scapegoat

...even more ridiculous now that you think of it considering all the shit Pogba took last week for his miss. Not even a miss - a save - whereas Rashford point blank missed.

Can’t wait for the non-story pundits & media make this out to be (Neville, Souness, etc). Bunch of agenda driven hypocrites.

/the amount of uncalled for, unfair abuse Pogba gets is sickening.
I hope not but do you want Rashford to get as much abuse as Pogba?

Yeah he's already being racially abused himself.

What a silly, naive, xenophobic thread.

This on Solskjear for not just making a definitive penalty taker rather than trying to be cool with the players and it wasnt made any better with that prat neville, it created unnecessary pressure for rashford today
