Whatever happens, there are always things you coul
Happy with what I see today. Missed penalty but the team fought to tie the game up. Ole made the correct change subbing off Lingard and then just going for it by bringing on Mata. We lost due to the mess up by De Gea.

People that are calling this game shit or calling for Ole's to be gone show that they know nothing about football. The players need actual experience on the field to understand how runs are made by their teammates and learn chemistry with each other. It wasn't going to happen in 3 games and it won't happen through this season. We were never going to win shit this season so might as well get the players to gel together and learn some chemistry and go from there. As long as they play the way they did today, run their assess off and never give up, then I'm happy for it. January maybe sign a midfielder and then next season start building.

We have a lot of deadwood on the team so it will take a few transfer windows to rid the team of it.

The people with knives, already had them out waiting for this moment that was always going to come. Its a rebuild, its always been said to be a rebuild, but i feel fans do not give the club a chance to actually rebuild.

We are not a very creative side, and work really well on counters. both mctominay and pogba did their job today, as did awb maguire young/shaw. Our problem both today and on monday has been our attack. rashford and martial have played ok/even well, but they arent creative players and both try to do the same things. james is not as good on the left, and we have a massive hole in attacking midfield. essentialy, even though we dominated the game, we could not create, because our attackers have not been and have proven not to be creative over time. Playing James on the left might help create some directness from one side of the pitch, but we really need to sort out our attacking midfield position. Maybe we can go to a 442, with martial or rashford as a second striker or we might need to push pogba up and play fred. However, this season is all about building a functional playing style, bringing up youth players and rebuilding. It takes time. We have performed dominantly in all three of our games, for now lets focus on that.

Where is fred? We need him. If he's not in the plans I think tuanzebe might need to be used at dm. We were slaughtered in midfield today at times after they scored. Pogba needs to be moved towards the opposition box. Why is the manager not realising this?

With all due respect, McT is a squad player.

he would never have got near the first team under Fergie.
The experts over here used to say exactly the same things about a certain Darren Fletcher...

Do they train any attacking patterns during the week?

Seems like our whole tactical game point is based on the counter attack. Once that is eliminated we cannot do anything else. Don't have the quality to cut through the oppositions defense at all.

To lose in that manner to Palace at OT did feel we hit a new low point. I doubt it will be a wake up call, there's not a lot to wake up. Such a weak minded team.

Keeper winding down his contract, no midfield, our few attacks of any note come through Pogba who is playing too deep, we have a non entity for 12 months called Jesse Lingard playing again.

The club and team are still being mismanaged, it's just awful.

United just continue to go in a downward spiral since SAF has retired, as for the players currently on the bench and in the team, well lets go down the list :-

De Gea - When do we start calling him calamity Dave?
AWB - Time will tell.
Maquire- Time will tell.
Lindelof - Hero to zero every couple of games.
Shaw - Been poor since his leg breaking injury, feel United need to bring in another LB.
James - At times pretty raw, still has a way to go.
Mctominay - Whats happening? last two games his head seems to have not been in the game at times.
Pogba - Has ability, but so obviously has no interest in being at United
Lingard - Fail to see what he offers? apart from making up the numbers to fill a position, 26 should really be starting to hit his peak, but offers nothing.
Martial - Seems pretty dangerous at times, but still has work to do.
Rashford - Welbeck 2.0? frustrating player at times, trys to do it all, but wasteful in a lot of attempts.

It's going to be a long season, and its going to be a while before we see a consistent United, there are 2 or 3 players that might just make it, but there are a lot of players that just wont.

I hope Ole actually lives up to his word and gives the likes of Chong & Gomes a chance, because they can't do any worse then the current bunch of first team players.

Really think today was down to a bit of naivety today with that performance. We knew that Palace was going to sit with an organized bank of four and a bank of five in front, suffocating any space to play football. An absolute horrible dog of a team to try and play against.

Because we were naive then I think the idea was to play it slow, keep possession and coax them out of their shape. The downside was that we never really started to attack with any pace until the second half. Nothing wrong with that game plan. However, Rashford needs to start showing a little more maturity. If he is supposed to be stopping behind training etc then eff me, he needs to work on the free kicks. Just far too wasteful. More off target than on target, test the keeper !!!

Lingard, anon today.

I think the saddest part of today was a lot of the anti ole fans actually reveling in this defeat. Sad to see really

Nah man, this one is on the players. How many chances did Palace get due to tactics?
We suffocated their play and limited them.
They got the first goal because Maguire eas covering for the injured Shaw and Lindelof lost a header (surprise).

They got the second on a counter attack. Did you at all feel that the team was going to concede throughout the game?
Their goals came out of nothing really, i agree. Just like against Wolves we are restricting them to very few chances. And thats good!

But we really struggle to move the ball fast enough in midfield, with good enough accuracy. And because of that we create very few clear cut chances. Our possesion and the feeling of us controlling the game means very little if we can't find ways to score consitently against teams that defend deep.

His interview is disgraceful he doesn't address the lack of platform to win the game (which is mostly variables in the aspects of play) instead he focuses on the singular amount of chances that presented itself in 90 mins. It's different if we peppered palace with 15 shots and dominated but Ole is grasping on us having some type of 95% conversion rate. I still don't see how he differs to Mourinho in the ethics behind the teams success. Aside personnel changes we are having the exact same issue from a performance standpoint as last season.

We looked alright offensively until Shaw went off. After that we seemed to have very little.
Lingard needs replacing probably McT as well. Even though I feel like he is doing alright but in the set up he isn’t what we need.
