Well deserved on the balance of things, shame the clean sheet wasn't happening (again) but yeah, happy with the overall performance.

Enjoyed that. Bit tricky first half, terrific second half. Result maybe flattered arsenal a bit. Not expecting many clean sheets with Adrian in goal though.

Good win. Patchy performance again. Great at times but still looking ropey at the back. Fitness levels not quite there which is understandable. Hopefully we can continue to pick up points until we start performing for full 90 minutes. Arsenal looked the best they have in years at Anfield.

Don't disagree..just saying that as bad as they are, Chelsea and Arsenal are still likely to finish above United.
I agree, I predicted a 6th place finish for United before the season. For me it's 5 teams in contention for 4th and it wouldn't shock me whoever manages that spot. Not much difference between the teams but I have Arsenal as favorites.

Impressive by Liverpool. Team not clicking on all cylinders just yet and still managed to comfortably beat a good Arsenal side.

This game was always a write off IMO and we didn't learn anything new. We did well initially to absorb their pressure, but as usual our fragile defending and individual silly mistakes (and Luiz's erratic nature) cost us. If Auba or Pepe's shots go in, Emery's plan to counter would have been genius. Thought we were in it at HT but Luiz's foul so early after the break killed the game, and it was damage limitation after that.
On more positive notes, Pepe and Torreira got some much needed minutes. Really excited to see how Pepe fits into the team, so far think he's adapted fairly well but just lacks sharpness. Also interested to see how Emery finds his best midfield - for now think Xhaka/Torreira is the best but I'm hoping Xhaka is displaced sooner rather than later.

That wasn't embarrassing. It was annoying because we missed two great early chances to put them on the ropes.
Exactly. Not great, but better than it has been, and a further sign that we’re playing better this season.

We didn’t win but that was miles better than Spurs played at City.

That's a pretty low bar. That City game was the worst I've seen us play under Poch I think, or at least the least I've enjoyed a match. Was awful.

Until the 3-0 we gave away too many balls and our defenders did too many mistakes. There was never a question about which team was going to score. I felt a bit embarrassed.

A very good performance. A level above Arsenal today. We were full of energy and confidence. Fast and direct when going forward. There is still some defensive work to do, but we are on the right track.

It really wasn't as embarrassing as our other trips to Anfield in recent seasons, thought our performance up until the penalty was the best we've played there in ages. We did relatively well in the first half but were undone by a set piece, and if Pepe or Auba scored their chances things might have been different. I wasn't expecting anything from this fixture, but it was the first time in a while I thought we might get something from the game.
Our defenders making costly mistakes is nothing new and will keep getting exposed by the top teams especially.

.....and just like you and your ilk were supporting other teams against United while we came from 7 Leagues to reach the 20 (twenty) number of leagues.
Better be quiet mate.

That's it.

Liverpool is winning the 19/20 PL. "30th Anniversary since the last one la!".

I only hope Chelsea and Arse have both shit seasons, so we end up 4th (Spurs will finish 3rd).

Right, if we take recent seasons as a comparison today it wasn't that bad, but I never had that feeling we might get something from the game. Our chances were pretty much flukes. Our defense is just... well as you said, it's nothing new.

I still think we'll get top 4, I think our attack will see us through.

Another game showing average defence isn't that matter as long as you have great attack.
