Neville forgot the way he pathetic way he treated Sterling. Raheem was getting abused and confided in Neville. Neville was aware of the abuse Sterling was getting and he did nothing because he was too afraid to deal with it.

Neville has no self-awareness. Does he think his words make no difference. That his tone and anger does not have an effect on viewers watching what he has to say.

He blames Pogba for things that have nothing to do with him. Ole decided to have two penalty takers. But Neville didn't criticise Ole or his management. He called Pogba 'Selfish' for having the audacity for wanting to take a penalty. Not a peep about Rashford missing. He does a complete U-Turn and says it's about the result now. It wasn't about the result last week when you slaughtered Pogba for Wanting to take the pen. Anyone can miss a penalty but to call a player selfish for wanting to take a penalty. Would he call any other player Selfish? - does he criticise Lingard or other players the same way he attacks Pogba?

Neville attacks players he doesn't like. Gives the benefit of the doubt to those he does.

The guy is a public person, an ex Man United "legend" and uses expressions like "you wouldn't say that in front of me" on a social media platform to an unknown random guy.

That's not "legend" behavior, that's just being a fecking idiot.

Remember when Gary Neville was a coach for England and we kept getting done on the flanks of Iceland? fecking Iceland? Neville is good at saying, but when it comes to "doing" its a different story. Rent a gob.

There's no other explanation other than that he's strictly all about the views now, a Sky man as others have said. But then it was a gradual process wasn't it, it started when he'd go too far to the other side in his attempt to seem impartial in his punditry. The next stage of this evolution bothers me the most, and that's the loaded language he would use to describe players and his inconsistency in the treatment of them. Now he's become a full blown sensational-bullshit artist, concocting false narratives and has no issue being responsible for creating the toxicity that's plagued our club for the longest time now. All the while protecting the hierarchy, putting their failures down to some divine intervention that is football cycles. cAnt do nothing about that, nope, just gotta wait for it all to magically fall in to place. And it'll defo happen before Liverpool, because. And Salah is leaving soon fa sho so yeah.

What a monumental dickhead.

I defended him a lot last year, but I won't defend him now.
The guy is acting like a complete and utter buffoon.
He made a mountain of a mole hill after Pogba missed his penalty, he creates unnecessary drama for the club.
He obviously thinks too highly of himself to take on the criticisms of the people who made him, which is a shame.
Been doing this since Moyes got sacked. No manager will ever be good enough for him. Players he dislikes will get blasted by him whether or not they deserve it. He's extremely disruptive. Why do you think opposition fans like him so much? You think it's his 'sterling' analysis? No chance, they love that shits on us at every possible moment and then pretends he cares for the club.

I wish United fans would now ignore him. Took me a few days to realise he had gone on about the penalty because I didn't read any football coverage and I turn the tv off once the game is over as I'm not interested in what pundits have to say.

I think United should not have him do any interviews at the club for Sky.
Sky should send someone else. We need a little distance from him at the moment. Let him calm down.

He’s nothing more than a Sky yes man instructed what to say to drum up interest in analysis.

It’s almost as though Sky are trying to justify paying £10m for a Premier League game with these pointless overreactions to something that’s nothing.
If it were just Sky trying to gain more audience with overreactions, then why doesn’t he attack Lindgard, or Go on a rant against Ed Woodward? Nah, Neville is just a clueless egomaniac.

Well, if Pogba hadn't done those shenanighans last week, the pressure wouldn't have boiled up on Rashy this week, and he'd have scored 2, we'd have won 2, and we'd be top the league

or something.

Because Lingard isn't high profile enough and not many people really care about Ed Woodward - you'll get a lot more clicks for Pogba.

Oh, he would get plenty of clicks if he went against Lingard. But the event would come to the inevitable conclusion of Lingard getting dropped to the stands quickly and there wouldn’t be any more future clicks. While with Pogba he can go on and on for 3 years.

Regarding not many people caring about Woodward, I think a hell of a lot more people care about Woody than they do about Gary. Maybe Woody should have a Twitter presence, studs up too.

What does he mean by the situation that was created? By himself or is he talking about the racism?

He's blaming Pogba . After had Pogba not been so treacherous to take last week's pen and miss it . Rashford would have scored both . Simples

I think Neville also cares about the club and knows that Rashford and Pogba are actually serious factors in United's potential success. Lingard isn't a player of the old United quality - there's no point going after a player who tries his heart out but isn't good enough, is there?

No, in general football fans have no interest in Ed Woodward at all, it's like tweeting about Liverpool's owners instead of Mo Salah. Fairly obviously, with his high profile position, lots more people care about and interact with Gary Neville than Woodward, as well as his playing past.

The guy is simply a petty man. Ironic how he's quick and like labeling people of things such as treachery, embarrassment, selfish etc.

He's always quick to dish it but when he gets called on his bs, he can't take it and act like an angry child on twitter and tries to threaten people to say shit to his face. Fecking Neville daring others to talk to his face

If he really cared that much about United that’s what he should be tweeting about. It’s obvious that regardless how hard he tries he is not good enough. The team pays the price for carrying an ineffective player in a key attacking position.

In terms of more people caring about Gary Neville than Woodward, I don’t agree. I wouldn’t know anything about Liverpool owners because I don’t follow that team. But Woodward is known to United fans the world over, he is on TV almost during every single game, and gets blamed for many of our failures in planning and buying ineffectively for years. In the meantime, Gary Neville known as an ex-United player, who has now turned into a loud twat that nobody who doesn’t have a Sky subscription knows that much about. Who really cares about him?

People saying we should refuse interviews with him . So small minded and petty...would be a PR disaster too and make us look like idiots.

Fans are so precious when it comes to pundits - anything less than 100% piety and there’s meltdown. Just ignore or accept that talking points and exaggerated drama are part of the game on TV. His opinions can be criticised but the ‘throwing your toys out’ reaction is moronic.

imagine if this guy is some thug and he takes Gaz invitation to a face to face. There won't be Roy Keane defending him as he did with Vieira this time round

PR disaster for whom? I say it's good for us to do it so United fans don't think he has an in about what's going on with the team. At the moment it lends him too much credibility with a certain section of fans. Perception is everything.

It's not good for Ole and the team. Gary clearly picks on our foreign players. How do you think they feel if they see their boss cavorting with him? It's also not good for our English players as well. I think they all like each other and it must feel uncomfortable to see their team mates ripped apart even if they don't deserve it.

We need to calm things down as much as possible as the toxicity creates tension for all the players.

In the meantime, Gary must learn to act professional. If he dislikes players for personal reasons, it's his right - but he needs to keep it to himself, and the club should not indulge, nor ignore his unprofessionalism.

Given his petty obsession with sticking a knife in Pogba and other non English players, I say he'd deserve such pettiness thrown his way.

PR disaster for the club - revoking access to a respected journalist because you didn’t like criticism is out the realms of Orwell and facist dictatorships. If Ole on a personal level doesn’t want to covort, then that’s his decision but a club refusal would make us look so small time. Straight out of the realms of RAWK, that one.

As for calming tensions and toxicity, this isn’t the Cuban Missile Crisis .

We’re (well were) a global superpower of a club. Playing ‘tit for tat’ with journalists you don’t like is playground behaviour. May as well say “I’m taking my ball home”.

I disagree completely. Respected journalist? First of all he isn't a journalist. He has no education nor journalistic background. He just talks loudly.

Couldn't care less if we look petty. The important thing is that the team trusts the manager and each other to have their backs. Never mind what outsiders think. In bad times, that trust is essential.

A disruptive outside influence should not be indulged.

The feck are you on about? Gary isn't a journalist, never mind a respected one. And the club has history of telling actual journalists to do one if they ticked off Ferguson, so I see little problem in barring a reactionary, biased tit like Gary Neville access to the players and staff.

I like one of the tweet replies where it says how ironic Gary is to tell people on twitter they wouldn't have the cojones to say stuff on his face when Neville himself wouldn't have the balls to say half the shit he says about Pogba to his face

Just lock Pogba and Neville in a room and dare him to talk shit to Pogba
That’s bollocks, Neville was known as being highly confrontational behind the scenes as a player and would totally call Pogba out if he thought his ego was costing the team.

According to Wikipedia:

"Neville writes a weekly full-page column in the Sports section of The Sunday Times of Malta".

"On 8 August 2014, The Daily Telegraph announced that Neville would be joining their staff as a columnist."

Makes him a journalist. Although perhaps technically not journalism, punditry and analysis is closely linked, appearing with journalists on Sunday Supplement. He's also a Judge on Salford University's Journalism Awards the year. He's certainly respected in the media.

Anyway, I'm not a Neville apologist, I think he's a bit of a tit but banning him would make us look like twats.

No, he writes a column, essentially an opinion piece. The word for people who do that is 'columnist.' It has nothing to do with journalism.

The respect he commands in the media doesn't come from the quality of his work, but from his history as a footballer and his position with Sky.

I'd say there's a difference based on the search results trying to explain the difference.

The way I understand it is that a journalist can be a columnist but a columnist is not necessarily a journalist.

Plus I don't think Neville has a bachelor's degree in journalism, which is required according to this:

I've always defended Gary Neville, even though he is a bit of a dick when I've seen him about outside of the studio, but I think his genuine lack of self awareness is ridiculous. Not talking about the racism thing as that's nonsense, but more how he just says whatever suits his personal agenda at the time. If it wasn't Ole in charge he'd be having a different narrative to if Mourinho was still around or someone else. He has his favourite players, like all, but then he refuses to do his job which is to analyse them/their performance properly

He's basically loving the attention now/embracing it for all the wrong reasons. He's not far off going down the Piers Morgan route and just becoming a caricature
