His form is sackable, but I don't even see the point in sacking him now since this squad is now about is about giving the younger players a chance over players like Matic, Andreas, Mata and Lingard.

How have we let the squad get to this state though...

I'd say we have. We create next to nothing. The defence still looks shaky and the midfield is non-existent.
I think we've created a fair bit today. Quite a few dangerous crosses for which there was no authentic striker on the end of. McTominay played a superb ball for AWB that he skied. Rashford had 2-3 through balls from Pogba where he took too much time and didn't trouble the keeper the one time he managed to beat the defender.

This team with a clinical striker is a completely different story. Add a competent passer/technician in midfield (who can also run) and we're up a level. A right winger too and we've got a team.

But I don't see the point in sticking with players who have shown they aren't what we need. Of course, numbers have to be replaced, but this United, we are not run like a proper football club. Ole is not a top manager, but any top manager would find the conditions at United hindrances to his work.

Allegri would have this team playing more solid football.

Its not looking good for Ole. Needs to start winning very soon

The comments in here are laughable.

There is no manager on earth that sends his Goalkeeper out to parry a ball his should catch nor tells his Centre Back to position himself so terribly he can’t compete for a header.

Some of his team choices may baffle but his ideas are continually undermined by individual errors.

We could have Pep in charge & he couldn’t improve these players, he’d need to buy a new squad.

The man has had countless senior players leave & not be replaced, no manager would want their squad decimated like this.

That being said he needs to resign & call out the regime; how anybody could say this squad has come together by design amazes me.
Laughable? We play decent till half time. Have the lead and then come out playing like underdogs. We just got lucky Southampton got a player sent off. They looked more likely at that time.

Nah just boring and depressing watching them now. This is the first time I've ever even considered not watching them. In 20 years
Wow and that’s after Moyes, LVH and Mourinho football!! This is far better albeit results aren’t coming yet

Can't believe how he is actually worse than Mourinho was last season. This team has gone backwards from last year and he should be blamed. Got rid of our second best midfielder, second best striker and third best CB, all while playing Jesse fecking Lingard and Pereira who are nowhere near top 6 quality.

He's got the right ideas. Unfortuneately for him our squad is too shit to get him through the transitional period.

He’s not good enough, it’s clear. Yes, the squad is weak and thin, but he’s at least partly responsible for that. I don’t think it’s the right time to sack him just yet, but sadly I do think it’s inevitable.

How long this run need to go on for before Ole’s appraised as grossly underachieving, despite no-one expecting a title challenge? His win percentage now slips behind Moyes’ and Van Gaal’s.

Three wins in sixteen. Three wins in six months. Three wins since that night in Paris.

Ole is going to struggle to have us finish in the European places. We need to identify the next manager to develop this young squad, be ruthless when they become available and show Ole the door.

I'm going to predict his post-match.
  • Controlled the game
  • Better side
  • Unlucky, ball didn't bounce for us
  • Defended well for the most part
  • Just lacked that finishing touch

This is where I am at too. He's made his bed and has to lie in it.

Are you saying Pep Guardiola would not do a better job managing us than Ole? Are you actually saying that?

The only thing laughable is our form since PSG. Relegation FC.

Him and Woodward should leave ASAP. Our transfer strategy this summer has been atrocious.
Our entire club since 2013 has been atrocious. We are the English AC Milan. Complete and utter laughing stock.

Anyone 10 managers in the PL or probably in the top 5 teams in La Liga, Serie A or the Bundesliga will be much better than Ole. Sack him now before it is too late.

Reminder that 8 months after he became manager the team has zero style of play . It's just amazing that a club of this size is run so badly . Another season down the drain and now when we sack him in December the next guy would want wholesale changes . Here's a simple question I would like people to answer . What's more likely finishing 4 th or finishing 11th ?

Him and the squad are equally poor. He shouldn’t have been hired in the first place but now that he is here we may as well give him the full season. I don’t expect any quality manager to join before the season ends and I wouldn’t expect them to do massively better with the trash we have in this squad.

Sack him now. A competent manager can still salvage top 4
With that squad? Nonsense. I’m not absolving Ole of his culpability for how the squad looks currently but nobody is working wonders with it as it is. He’s very much mid build at the moment and it’s not going well, but there’s absolutely no point in bringing in another manager unless relegation looks a possibility. Which it won’t.

I can really see Ole turning it around for himself when he wins the Norwegian third division in a few years.

All of his press conferences and interviews are boring anyway.

The downfall for Ole is going to be the fact that he considers the team as his pals. I remember when Di Matteo was the manager for Chelsea and he had nicknames such as JT, Lamps etc. This broken the wall that should exist between a manager and the players.

Shameful to call Rashie, Greenie etc etc in a press conference. All the goodwill he got in the first 8 games is gone. We have lowered ourselves and have become the Liverpool of the early 2000's. There no bigger shame than that while Liverpool and City are making merry to open our wounds further.

Yours is the most laughable of all. Ole is worse than Moyes, don’t even try to say Pep couldn’t do any better than him as it’s a ridiculous statement. We got someone just because he is smiling, not because of his managerial abilities.

That lineup was shocking today, nowhere near top 4.

Anyway, Ole going on about our young players for the lack of transfers yet he rarely plays them.

That for me is pathetic

Calm down people. You can't expect that we beat Southampton with this squad. It is not Ole's fault. In matter of fact it is huge success to get a point there.
feck, i can't do it like master of sarcasm @Ban.

Just sack him already Woody. Ole is average, limited manager who had 9 months to create something. No gameplan, no style, players looking worse than they looked under Mourinho, no results. He can't beat Palace or Saints after he had whole summer for preparation and after he bought new players. No more excuses for him. Needs to go; NOW.

He is part of the problem letting go of Smalling before having a proper assessment of the current cb partnership.

This has been a calamitous summer. We let two of our experienced attackers go and replaced them with feck all. Woodward needs to be shown the door.
OGS pushed them out [and in Lukaku's case alienated him first so there was no going back], not Woodward. Not to mention Fellaini who was the sacrificial lamb to make the fans see he 'gets' it, but was actually useful.
