Would have preferred Greenwood to Andreas.

But when you consider in 99 Scholes or Butt would start on the bench in CM and Ole, Sherrigan, Cole and York would fight for two spots up front, it amazes me we did not do more business in the transfer window... :(.
Because we have money grabbing owners and that chinless c.nt woodward doing their bidding.

Back in 99 the club was a proper run outfit and this thread would have been about how many we would stck past Leicester.

Matic lulz, cant he just order traffic con via amazon or something. He better play Axel every game in EL.

    Matic, Mata, Pereira....

Fred, Gomes and Greenwood sat on the bench watching those 3 tiptoe about at Sunday league walking pace.

At least we won't be seeing Lingard losing the ball over and over again today, small mercies.
You've just given a reason why they should start. Mason is far too young yet to be starting.

Pereira on the other hand, feck!

People might try to make themselves out to be some super fan, etc. but yet again that's an appalling team selection. And the worst thing is I expected it. This shit is no better than Mourinho last year.

At least our bench is much better but if Ole only gives them 5 minutes each, it's hardly worth talking about them.

I am not sure even the expectation of a draw is looking good at the moment.

Back in 99, we started with a 2-2 draw against them before troncing them 6-2 at Leicester

It’s tough to throw in Greenwood and Gomes against Leicester. Huge risk to start players that have virtually no top level experience. You need to accommodate these players in to a team that already knows what they’re doing.

Criminal underinvestment by the board. Disgraceful.

Very difficult to respect OgS with this team choice.

Lindelof will be bullies by Vardy & Andreas will be anonymous as always.

The subs will as ever come late & the youngsters won’t get a fair chance to shine.

I’m not calling for change 4/5 games in but with this team choice OgS must win this game.

A Matic, Mata, McTom, Andreas midfield is sacrilege, square pegs round holes all over.

How Pereira keeps his place I don't know.
Mata was actually quite decent last week, better than anyone else we have played at number 10 this season. I think he deserved another start today but that's just my opinion.

We'll still win comfortably despite the relatively weak team put out. I'm feeling confident today :)

What an exciting team. The pace and creativity is outstanding in that midfield. Luckily for us that won't matter a bit as we have a very clinincal striker who only needs that one chance to score.

OGS is acting cowardly as usual, and is rewarding underperformers with starts. This won’t last long, that’s for sure - new manager is just a matter of (short) time.

Matic was predictable to be fair but the omission of Gomes is a little baffling. I'd have preferred to see him over Pereira

. The worst thing is some people genuinely think like that.

Called the line up :) I'm not exactly optimistic but we need Rashford and James to be on good form for this one.

With that lineup banged on to be a 0-3 loss Matic-McTominay-Andres is a woeful midfield

Look at the 'cking state of that lineup. So much for kicking on after finishing 6th last season - let's go into 19/20 with an even worse squad. Pits.

    1 - 3 Leicester

One has taken his chances and the other hasn't. Need Marcus to step up big time. He's still young but with all the games under his belt, he's more senior out there than most

I like that word and I will surely be that word if Jones comes on when we are chasing an equaliser.
Why would Jones come on if we need a goal?

The way Lindelhof has played the last 2 matches, Jones would be an improvement

    The rainbow's end
Most reasonable lineup given the injury list. I suspect Pereira will keep tabs on Ndidi and he will try to ensure that we will always have three-men in the midfield. Matic will probably take McT's role and sit deeper while McT will look for more b2b runs. Let's hope that Mata/James can create openings in the wings with their movement because that's the only place on the pitch where creativity is going to come from for us. We can win this. As for the moaning on here...

It was our decision to go into the season with two talented yet unproven at the highest level attackers to lead the line (Rashford/Martial).

It was our decision to give Mata a three-year deal because he's experienced and a good lad, thus making him and Lingard our #10s for the season.

It was Ole's decision to turn Pereira from a reserves/on-loan player to an important squad player.

Why the fuss? Because the almighty Fred won't get the chance to boss the midfield? Because some 17 year-olds won't get the chance to run rings around one of the better teams in the league right from the kick-off? Give me a fecking break. Like it's freaking football manager and we can go back to our last saved game... With Pogba out Matic and Mata are the only senior players in the midfield and in the attack. Of course, they'll start since the manager trusts them. Who were not trusted were shipped off.

Half the Caf, or more, is arguing that we're heading towards the right direction. Well, this is the kind of lineup you get when you choose to gamble with your present to achieve a better future. Most people are fine with it last time i checked. Embrace it, this is currently our level.
