Do we even have a striker? Rashford pretty much playing on the wings. Mata has gotten even slower this summer. Wish we had Greenwood.

    Lingard on for Mata.

Not CBs.. CB! Maquire got caught on the wrong foot way to easily there. Not much Lindelof could have done there.
Lindelof was right there! He was a step away and could have done better to block the shot.

I just cant understand the lethargy...its always like Utd players have run a marathon before they come out. Numbers are there in defence but everyone is just rooted to the spot waiting for someone else to intervene.

Taking the next corner instead of Jones!
Must be very frustrating for Ole, Rashford, the only striker on the pitch, is obviously knackered.

One look at the bench will tell you why Ole's had to play him … there is not one other fit or healthy striker in the squad.

And before anyone says anything about "I'm happy with my squad" don't expect Ole to ever come out and do a Jose and throw them under the bus to save his reputation.

We are not going to create too much with this team so we need to be clinical. Unfortunately we are not. Rashford needs to start scoring with one or two chances if we are to stand a chance.

What's he supposed to do with the squad?

How could the squad be fixed with a net spent of 30mil since he took over?
We didn't want Lukaku how does the fact we got money for him take away our from our two big defensive signings

We are going backwards. We've invested in this team (not enough obviously) and yet we're worse.

They'll be a a long list of excuses but Ole is not good enough, we shouldn't be this bad.
We've invested more than enough to improve on what we had.

We've just moved in a bad direction and havent been able to get the momentum back after Ole lost it at the end of last season.

He's set up 2 goals, one with a tackle 1 with a cross, had a good freekick saved and worked hard to win the ball. So feck off with that bullshit
His general play is shite. I watch every game just like you have. You can't explain everything away from stats.

We need a change, but I’m not sure where it would come from. Maybe Fred for Matic? Gomes for Mata? Rojo for Rashford?

I agree about the need for DoF but do you really think Mata gets handed a new deal if Ole didn't want him?
I don’t really know, did he still want jones? Or was it just a case of keeping numbers for the squad as we knew Sanchez/lukaku were also going.

Either way it’s left us in an awful position with only 2/3 attackers that make the grade, and 2 of those are injured.

No effort, no speed or tempo. Everything Ole wanted/spoke of/expected just isn’t there. Lads look knackered already - it’s only October and we haven’t had true fixture congestion yet.

No team can hope their first XI plays every game. We don’t have the depth so games like this will unfortunately happen more often than not.

Rashford and Mata appalling. Matic very rusty and caught napping a few times.

Sounds defeatist but I don't see how we get two goals without letting another in... Away form is drab. We're far too slow at everything.

Rashford need to get into the game more, too dependant on others.

I honestly forgot we were even playing today.

Seeing the result I don't think I'll be interested watching second half. Will instead watch the full match on replay tonight.

There was 0 pressure from us at any point
Look at how quick everything went. Where could the pressure have come from? The pass, the touch to set up the strike, and the finish were all pinpoint. The more concerning part of our side is obviously our attack where once again we are crap.

The midfield and forwards are poor.
Poor selection by Ole and his coaches.
Need some energy in midfield and forward play.
Fred, Gomes and Lingard to come in for Mata, Mctominay and Pereira.
Especially Mata. Playing Mata is going is like having 10 men playing against 11.
He cannot defend, harass and tackle.

Really poor half. We are so lethargic in our play. Every pass is backwards, movement off the ball is poor and creativity non existent. Not sure subs will correct the problem either!

Think this is why we shouldn't have given Rashford a superstar contract. Because he's not like, you know, a superstar.
I feel sorry for him. He is too young to be starting every single game. He is still learning and he's having to do it in the spotlight.

Everytime Maguire and Lindelof get the ball and look up, there is no movement ahead of them. Everbody is static and looking around, and it is a habit i have noticed with united under the previous managers.

There seems to be no bravery in the squad that leads to player demanding the ball and trying to make something happen, everything is always safe within their abilities, i see effort from James, and Andreas seems to be trying, but other than that, our front 6 have no movement and it is so frustrating to watch.

Jesus Christ...This is what usually happens when you sprint.
It’s what happens when I sprint.. I’m an overweight 30 year old bloke who works in an office.

It’s not what happens when professional footballers sprint. They don’t tend to be folded over gasping for air.

He’s been fecking useless again today. It’s no surprise that we’re completely lacking any kind of threat when he’s the focal point of the attack.

Granted he’s not the only issue or even the biggest one. But he’s certainly part of the problem

Wow, this is no different than the managers before it, sat here bored to tears watching boring football. I know he has players injured but why not have taken a few more risks with his selection?
totally agree. you can go and make a cup of coffee and take a piss and miss absolutely nothing. boring as feck

It's true that he's not the second coming but it's also true he's been denied the rebuild that every manager gets at a top club.
People here like to make fun of RAWK and others but boy our fanbase is such a joke, most people have been directing their anger towards Ole for a while...

I don't blame Ole for this rubbish, he's not the right guy that's clear but not enough was done in the summer by Woodward, surprise surprise. Mata has been great for us but he's not the player he once was and no one in the final third apart from James has enough ability to link with Rashford.

You know a United team isn't good enough, when you concede and go, well that it a lose then. I just don't have faith in our attacking players to actually be able to break a team down and get a goal, let alone pull two back right now. Then you look at the bench, and we don't have anyone that would strike fear into West Ham. We don't even have a striker on the bench.

Everyone is afraid of doing anything. The majority of them seem genuinely afraid to be on the ball in case they make a mistake and can't do anything with it. It's due to lack of form. Our mentality is extremely low.

He's playing on the right wing, players dont play there to keep the ball. They play there to make things happen. He's made things happen, Mata and Lingard havent. It doesnt matter how much you watch if you don't understand what you're watching

Thought the match started at 2.30 so just got in & see the score.

Can someone give a review please.
Treating it like a training game, no urgency. Matic is trying to play forward passes at least.

Rashford had a good run then he Welbecked it and the defender got the ball. Matic had a shot from outside the box confortably saved.

They had the better attacks and scored a goal before half time. Mata is non-exostant and there appears to be no clear plan when attacking.

People have been having the team wrong for a while. Us not being good has nothing to do with our midfield or defence, it is and has been our attack for the last 6 years. we have only ever had more than 5.3 shots per game once in that time span, that was the 16/17 season. you don't win or challenge for the league with less than that.
Our midfielders give the balll to our attackers, but they have zero control. It's almost like they expect to be spoon fed possession. We need to overhaul that front line or simply play younger players there for the rest of the season and see who fits. Rashford is not a striker btw
