Where would you honestly rank our team?

Your full team? 5th.

The team you had out there today? 15th.

Rashford would not ordinarily be a big loss. I do not rate him. At all. But on top of everyone else it's pretty damaging.

Pogba ahould be back for next game - but you will not be much better at all until Martial returns.

I don't mean this to be moaning thread, I am just honestly curious after watching the first half against West Ham where you would rate our squad in the league if you broke it down player for player.

I think it is obvious that we are behind City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal.

Other than that, do we have better players than Chelsea now Hazard has left? Do Wolves have better players than us?

I think we are probably 6th best in the league but want to know opinions.
Our starting lineup is top 4, but when your look at our depth, then we are 6-8. Transfer windows have been so dumb. We sacrificed so much depth at midfield and striker for no damn reason. We continue to put way too much faith in our academy. In addition to big purchases like macguire and wan bissaka, we need many more less expensive transfers like Daniel James to provide depth. I’m so tired of watching the same crap from United.

We are anywhere between 7th and 15th. Depending on which players we have available, of course. Not enough to make it into the 5th and 6th positions, but not quite terrible enough to be seriously worried about relegation. Comfortably midtable.

We are miles behind City and Liverpool. Then in terms of squads, we're behind Spurs too. After that, to me, we're on par with Chelsea and Arsenal so I guess us three battling out 4th, 5th and 6th place.

Having said that, there's also have a few teams who could also break into the top four. Leicester, West Ham. Maybe Bournemouth.

Amazes me that people are coming on here now and saying “honestly believe we will finish 6th”....as if that’s the bar for the low estimate!

I am hopeful we COULD finish 6th, however, realistically I fear we could be talking 8th/9th quite easily

Wow, very astute observation Sherlock...
We are an inferior team than....City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham and Wolves (when they get their act together) and probably about on a par with Everton.

But honestly, I don't think that there is a team in the Premier League that isn't capable of giving us a beating on occaision.

We are 3 points off 3rd and we are an inexperienced, developing team that will only get better.

Think there's a real chance for a total disaster of a season to make last year and the Moyes one look successful by comparison.

We cannot score, it's going to kill us all season.

I honestly see us finishing between 10th and 7th.

Our starting 11 can be 3rd IMO. Our depth is bottom half level (all kids). But if you break it up by starting 11 and backup 11 (in my opinion what they should be), I actually really the starting 11.
De Gea
Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
McTominay Fred
James Pogba Rashford
Martial

Romero
Dalot Tuanzebe Jones Young
Matic Pereira
Lingard Mata Gomes
Greenwood
Backup 11 is fine in back 5, and even Matic as the backup holding mid. Pereira and Mata are awful though, lingard fine as a squad player and then its kids. So basically, the second any of martial/pogba/rashford get injured, we rely on Lingard or kids to do something. That's what Ole decided to do, so we'll have an up and down season but the hope is they can improve over the year.

Don't know if our squad is behind Leicester and west ham, definitely not wolves. But the team we put out today certainly is.

You’re having a laugh.

We’re mid table at best. Anything above that is overachieving. Average squad + average manager = average results. I’m not saying we need to sack Ole because it’s clearing not all his fault but this club needs to be turned upside down starting with Woodward. Four managers and 6 years nothing has changed and we’re getting worse.

At least one of the Leicester or West Ham will be above United in the table come Christmas, then it depends on the January window.

Young players don't automatically become good as they get older.

They can be crap young players that grow up to be crap old players.
I don't think any of our players are crap.

I believe there is potential in all of our young players and over time they will become more consistent which helps a great deal. Add to that the fact that their decision making still needs to mature so they will become much more rounded players.

I am sure we will add more quality/experience at the next transfer window and that will help.

6-9th if everyone is fit, and I’m being generous. If our injuries keep piling up and we’re forced to play teams similar to the one today, then definitely below 10th.

Going off this season alone, from what I have seen from other games we'll do well to finish top 6

A best 11 of McTominay and Fred. Neither are good enough. Fred today was diabolical. I can't believe how much we paid for him.

Bottom half. We likely won't get even 55 points this season.

If Chelsea get thumped at home by Liverpool today there will be no focus on the crisis at Chelsea because it's more fun to focus on the disaster that United is.

Chelsea haven't won a home game yet, Spurs are inconsistent and Arsenal are vulnerable too. It will be a 4 way scrap for the 2 spots like last year.

Yes we are pathetic, Ole probably isn't the man for this monumental rebuild. We're miles off Liverpool and City, but so are the others mentioned. We're at a point now where either this bad run is going to swallow the club up and leave us in the wilderness for another 5-10 years, or make the guys at the top realise what needs to be done.

Thought 8th at the start of the season but now I think it will be worse, may be as low as 10th. Even sides with less talent have effective systems that make them dangerous.

We are, at the moment in football terms, disfunctional and irrelevant.

I predicted sixth before the start of this season and I'm sticking with that. Playing our best available players we're actually fourth at our best, I don't think we're that bad overall. But our bottom level is pretty low and if we go on to play the way we did just now for the rest of the season, then anywhere from seventh to tenth is probably fair.

I hate feeling so negative about this club, but its been 6 years now. 6 years. We feel more in the transitional stage than ever. We shouldn't be here after 6 years, its criminal with the size and wealth of the club and the resources we have. How the hell have we fallen like this? criminal.

We won’t get top 6.

Leicester will finish above us. Their team has actually been well thought out ahead of time. Their midfield is miles ahead of us, better left back, better attack. Look at how prepared they were for the sale of Maguire.
