@Keefy18

No point arguing the toss, threads infested with morons and spoiled kids who started supporting Utd in 2000

Let them have the thread and go over to more sensible pages with sensible, ‘proper’ fans - like my “Green Shoots of Recovery” thread

These lot spend too much time on Twitter following those toxic LUHG bunch

Yes if you want to win games 1-0 he's your man or if you want a fluke against a PSG. He's basically as park the bus as you can get.
This is a factual lie, why even bother making things up when this statement can so easily be disproven simply by showing you game statistics? Or better yet, watch the game.

Some people don't understand neither football nor what park the bus actually means.

Even if you don't have eyes to see for yourself - all stats points to the opposite. Someone - a guy you quoted and commended even - just addressed this in length. But hey why fall subject to facts when you can pretend being King and just make stuff up right? I swear somewhere on this planet there's a conveyor belt mass-producing numbwits. We need to shut that shit down the world is drowning in idiocy these days :keano:
Yeah as idiotic as comparing politics and Brexit to football. As football is so complex!!

I agree 100% and i see posts on here the size of books with bullet points left right and center. We cannot criticize him because this is a rebuild. I cannot see a pattern of play i cannot see a philosophy i cannot see any improvements in the squad. They gave Ole the job way to soon IMHO. i look at Inter and Conte 6 out of 6 on his return to Italy. Would people say that Inter on paper has a better squad than us or do you credit the manager for instilling his methods on his team.

Should we accept that we are losing to West Ham,Crystal Palace and going to penalties to Rochdale? Herein lies the Rose tainted goggles most of our fan base see the club. When Madrid are in turmoil have they ever been lower than 3rd in la Liga. The simple fact is that they do not accept mediocrity to the levels we do. I accept that we are trying to do things different but i do not think Ole is the right man for the job and i do not accept that we need to lose 10 to 15 games a season just because we a going in a different direction.
Think you are missing the point there fella. Just becouse you cant see it, dosent mean it’s not there. Regarding Inter, they have the same problems. I’ve seen all their games. But there are huge gaps between the teams in Italy compared to England. And they managed to scrape results against their Wolves, West hams and Palaces. It’s the way it goes sometimes. And Lukaku is the same. And Sanchez? He finally scored a goal for being a pole! Good on him!

Ole talks about waiting to sign the right players but I'm just wondering, if we were in or near the relegation zone coming up to January, what do you all think we'd do? Spend big or stick by our plan?
Well what type player is going to want to come into a relegation battle without the wrong mentality?

So on what he said. Stick to our plan obviously.

I am not missing any point, you see what you want and believe what you want. Its not the way it goes sometimes. When you are not playing well and getting results its the sign that you can pick yourself up instead of surrendering. Changing a culture and it not coming through on the pitch makes your point invalid.

What evidence do you see on the pitch that makes you believe that he is the right man for the job? Your point on Lukaku makes little to no sense because he is a 20 goal a season striker.

First when you decided to support the club is irrelevant in evaluating/arguing about whether Ole is a successful manager.

The perspective people are missing is that I think everyone from the board to most fans realize Ole isn't our long term option.

The club is looking to rebuild & Ole is a low cost option who gets our identity even if his coaching ability is not on the level we need. He is the "full time interim coach of our rebuild"

The real issue is that this board clearly doesn't have the skill to manage this transition (look at the past 6 yrs as a prime example) nor have they taken steps to put someone in charge who has/can manage it full time.

Which is why we are struggling to balance short term success (heck most fans would settle for mediocre at this point) with the long term rebuild. We tried to drive too much change in the squad & hired someone who hasn't proven that they can actually coach/build a team successfully at this level (barring a small sample size where we overperformed).

The end product is illogical decisions like letting go of Lukaku/Alexis when players like Mata/Lingard add far less value and shouldn't be on our squad. Over estimating Rashfords skill & Martial's consistency/ability to stay healthy are also two fatal flaws when deciding to get rid of Lukaku. These decisions whether handled alone by Ole or in sync with the leadership team at United is not the core issue.

The real issue is the clueless people trying to solve a problem they don't know how to & refuse to hire someone who does.

Yeah, park the bus really lost it's meaning when any team that didn't play attacking football was called parking the bus.

So you didn’t emphasize the sentence “we had trouble with players committed last season, we do not have that now”? I would suspect Mata to be twice the importance of Lukaku in that dressing room.

I for one are happy to see the youngsters getting game time ahead of players like Llorrente or Mandzukic. And I think the club is spot on with expectations being arround sixth place. If people believe this team is going down relegation after the games played so far, they really should start following cricket!

I'm not uncritical of anything trust me - but hey if it makes you feel better thinking so go ahead. You may even be right - this might not work out. I'm hopeful that given enough time he'll get us back on track

...and there we go. Two of my main objections already being handled (though I still feel it should have been addressed this summer already and I'm not impressed with the reasons given as to why this din't happen). Now if only he could teach our current players to hit the net once in a while - especially when it's wide open - then maybe we wouldn't have to wait until February to see some good results :p
Your views are well registered but I definitely have a problem with his coaching. That is the fundamental basis of what we have been discussing. Do we need quality strikers? Yes.
That is not in doubt. He's said we needed the right striker; why did he sanction Lukaku's departure before the right one came along? Couldn't he have waited till next summer? That is amateurish decision making. Who were his targets before the window opened? Why did he have to wait untill the closing of the window to say this when he clearly stated that all departing players would be replaced. Just smacks of a man who plays it along as things go with no adequate plans. I believe the greatest compliment you can pay to a coach is the ability to raise the performance levels of those around him and get them playing better as a unit more than individual entities.

OGS has not shown me this and if his version of being a Man United manager is to spend on big strikers before convincingly defeating the likes if West Ham, Soton, Rochdale and Astana, then anyone could do it including Mark Hughes or Steve Bruce. He is not a good manager. Period. Doesn't matter how you wanna spin it about him needing time and bla bla bla. He is a very poor manager and we both know that if he wasn't an ex-player, your views about him would have been completely different. The earlier we get rid, the less damage he will do. You either have it or you don't and I'm afraid he doesn't.

Bollocking about fluently.
It's really getting nauseous, isn't it? It's 2019, Ole!
Yes taking notes from the greatest manager to have walked this planet is really dumb - as is being inspired by the most succesful period in this clubs history. Such a sentimental fool - clearly clueless he should throw all his experience aside and take lessons from you clowns instead! After all your insights are the envy of every coach this game has to offer.

But the team is "managing". They were shit last season for the most part and they're shit again this season. If the board are ok with that and don't want to either buy the required players or keep the ones they have then what can the manager do?
The board dont assess players. This is where you are making things up is what I am saying.

Coaching staff and scouting teams assess players

Yeah, reading posts like this is really nauseous.

First thing to check before posting is, what was the question asked

Have times moved on from Sir Alex Ferguson's hairdryer? Is it more about using kid gloves now?

"All the players have to be treated differently. That's one of the key attributes the gaffer (Ferguson) had, he knew everyone, how to push their buttons. Roy was the same when he was a player and a captain. I think he was absolutely brilliant at sparking your pride. It's about sparking our pride as well.

Constantly referring to the past is. Ole is the present manager of United; he still seems to walk around as if he is surprised that he's in the job - which let's be honest, he should be.

So what should he answer when the interviewer asks question on SAF?

Based on what? What answers gave him away?

Poor guy answered to the question on SAF. He should have asked the interviewed to feck off when he asked about SAF and whether times have changed.

I admit I did not see the question to which Ole replied; I was only replying to the poster.

But surely, we have heard (and I've heard enough of) the regular references of how it was in the past and what it means to play for United, etc., etc. We are not seeing much of that on the pitch.

Yes. Anything he says is wrong it seems. And if he said then interviewer to fek of they'd say he lacks respect or something, they'd come up with anything to bash him.

Even in the past, you have to check the questions. Obviously he made references to SAF time, anyone would and at the same time he brought SAF many times as he was asked about SAF.

I would like to hear Ole say that it is irrelevant how players were dealt with in the past, and that he has his own ideas and his own style. But quite similar to our lack of identity on the pitch, he does not have an identity as a coach or a manager (from what we can see). Does a United manager not require some kind of arrogance and swagger of his own?

Yeah, when the question is about SAF, manager he worshiped all his career, he will say "it is irrelevant". This kind of fantasy should stop. No one gives that answer, not even Jose who was full of himself said something like that. He said he will always be open to suggestion from SAF and said he invited SAF to training/dressing room.

"He had not been back since he left, but I brought him back to be with his people," Mourinho told the United We Stand fanzine (subscription required).
"I wanted the players to see the big man and for me and him to share some minutes and have lunch together. I enjoyed it, he enjoyed it."
In his 26 years at Old Trafford, Ferguson led United to 13 league titles, two Champions League crowns, five FA Cups and four League Cups.
"I'm the type of person who does not see ghosts. I respect the past and I know he loves the club," said Mourinho, who was appointed in May as the third manager to succeed Ferguson after David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.
"We have good relations and I know this is his house.
"When he wants to come here, to the dressing room, to see the players train, he knows he is more than welcome."

Spot on! I am sick of hearing or reading how he is talking all the time about "the gaffer". Do your own thing man! It shows that he has not really a clue what to do and tries to copy Sir Alex. But those days are gone. We are living in a different time now. As a club, new generation of players etc. I hope he will find "his" way one day. But right now I truly hope it will be away from Manchester United. I can't see what anything that has changed since he took over. Not his fault by the way. He was the happy man the players needed before they threw him off the cliff at the end of last season. Our fault, that we didn't wait until the end of season and got in someone who actually knows about managing a club.

They're the only two players who can make an impact that would be available in January I can think of.
Not sure they come off though.
Dybala was only on the cards because Juve came in for a swap. I doubt we will spend £80m on Dybala who doesn't even want to come to United.
