Just a random question. I remember that Real Madrid had to edit their logo when they were getting involved with UAE (building the resort in Dubai etc.). Now Saudi have Islam as their official religion and they obey strict interpretation of Sharia law... won't the devil, which is a huge part of our brand and identity, go against everything they stand for? I mean, they have Iblis (a fallen angel) and shaitans that are basically equivalent to the Cristian Devil and demons (although less powerful & important). I don't know much about it though, so I can be wrong.

I'd let him rename Old Trafford the Amazon Arena. Who gives a feck? The guy is worth $110 billion.
Good shout. He could* stream the games on Amazon Prime and make a fortune.

*except Amazon Prime can't do live events.

They might’ve strict but don’t actual follow the religion fully. Most of the Royal Family drink alcohol and eat pork which totally goes against fundamentals of Islam (Source: Member of Saud Family)

Also to clarify Iblis was NEVER an Angel, he is and always from the Jinn. Made from smokeless fire like other Jinn. He was amongst the Angels because of his riotousness and his devotedness to God at the time.

As for the symbolism yes it would be in conflict with the religion but honestly as a Utd fan it doesn’t particularly bother me as I’m no Satan worshipper. It’s just about the football and history.

Personally, I just want someone that will invest in the club, help create jobs for people and wants to be successful.

Cheers. As I said, I only know the basics (and probably some of them are wrong :)). And I know that they don't follow the religion strictly themselves, but if they were to buy United, it would be to promote the Saudi Arabia country brand, which includes more strict approach to the religion. Anyway, I'm sure that it won't be deciding factor in the potentially 4 bn. deal, but it would be interesting it they were to change it or not.

I do find it funny how people don't have the same view with the Saudi as they do with the ruler of Abu Dhabi.
Prince Mohammed bin Zayed is the man running the show in the UAE, he is the real person behind the City ownership and he is the main person in creating a humanitarian crisis in Yemen, and for backing the Saudi prince whose agents killed the dissident writer Jamal Khashoggi. A good article on him can be found on the NY Times:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/02/world/middleeast/crown-prince-mohammed-bin-zayed.html

This man is running the show in the Arab world.

I would take any owner who will invest in the club, will want to make the club as successful as possible. That is what I care about. If people start talking about Saudi they should look at the UAE first and everything they are doing. Plus if Saudi do take control of us they could force the Qatar owned PSG to hand us Mbappe :drool:

I prefer options 2 and 4 but 1 would be better than our current situation too. Option 3 would see us nuked after we inevitably lose to the likes of Liverpool and City.
I see it totally differently - who the hell would want to win against a team owned by Kim Jong-un!!

He also has a sporting pedigree, his father got 11 holes in one and was 30+ under par when he played his one and only game of golf.

Clearly there are a few negatives - but we would be winning 10 nil every week no matter who we played (just as long as you get your sports results from the North Korea news media!).

This is one of the weirdest posts I've ever seen on the Caf. Those of us who don't want the Saudi ownership would not want City's owners either, for the same reasons.

I've never heard of this guy until two minutes ago but I'm going to write like I'm an expert on him anyway. He's done it all. Finance. Cuisine. Entrepreneurship. The Arts. But what challenge lies ahead for a bored billionaire? The only answer is football. Jim is a huge United fan, and is reported to be worth between £12–21B. Going by the lowest number, £12B - £4B is still a whopping £8B. If my calculations are correct, he'd still be a billionaire. Hardly a risky investment for him. And with him being a fan, it's certain he'll want to see us winning again in no time. He's already bought Nice and that could be the grounds for a farmers team.
I'm going for this guy based on his culinary skills. God knows we need higher quality prawn sandwiches. That and he looks like someone who would own a multi-billion pounds enterprise such as Man Utd.

Kim Jong Un is an acceptable alternative because he can fly, which is useful for multiple reasons that do not require explanation.

"I love it......"

Can you imagine the military type parades down the East Lancs road. I wonder where he would move the ICBM testing to in the area? Can you imagine the impromptu half time drop ins to galvavnise the troops, sorry getting carried away 1st team. Pull up your socks sonny or Pak Choi Kim will show where Uncle Kim is now residing!!!

There’s nothing wrong with JP Morgan or any employees working there.
I didn't say there's anything wrong. In fact, I was suggesting a very specific type of candidate, you have to be a jp morgan banker, who also happens to be a wanker.

They just can't change the badge or stadium name, but can be our new shirt sponsors!

"to make Man United great again" :(
Seems like a good idea but it isn't. He'll bankrupt our club and constantly lie about our position in the table. We'll be 12th and he'll claim we're WINNING BIGLY and that the British media are fabricating hoaxes about our success in the league.

Kim for me. A lot of these players need a rocket up them and I feel it's time that we moved on from this just being a metaphor.

Jeff Bezos is a good shout. Just imagine the possibilities

And all United apparel and accessories ordered online will arrive in two days tops.
Haha. That Amazon logo looks way better on our strip than the Chevy one to be fair.

Looks like the card waving from Pyongyang is off to a tee anyway. Just need the Korean newslady to front up MUTV

Your location makes sense ;)
Hah yeah they would agree also :D

What are your thoughts on the Saudi’s as a potential owner?

Do you agree it would be the best suitor in terms of ambition and allowing us to operate to our full potential?

A club of our size should not be in a financial stranglehold by our owners.
I fear a lot of the businessmen people have listed will treat it as an investment for their own benefit.

We don’t need a cash injection like a lot of clubs who get taken over, we just need to be able to spend our existing money and operate to our maximum potential.

1 billion United fans worldwide.
£4 each to buy the club. £0.50 each for a transfer budget of £500 million every window.
Simple.
:p
