Hopefully there will come a day where I can tell my future grandchildren that we once tried to run the country with a petulant 12 year old in charge and it was something we swore to never do again.

I honestly thought that was an exaggerated fake leaked to fool/embarrass Trump's media critics. Sheesh...

No way Apricot Amin lets that slide, there has to be a reaction on Twitter.
He should shut up too.

He never says I'm in favor of universal Healthcare. Free college. Upping minimum wage.

He's the flip side of Trump

He could have said. I believe in universal Healthcare. Free college and to get everyone on the way to being prosperous.

Nah. He's as shallow as the rest of them.

The dems are just the same but with a blue tie.

People like their Healthcare.
Well I fecking don't. $80,000 this year and all I got was 2 ultrasounds and a throat exam

How he can say this when his son died shows what a pig he is.

feck him.

With that sort of money and the lack of value, you could fly to Thailand for some tourist medicine and employ a few lovely maids to help soothe your pains.

Thanks a lot, I like fact base. However there are no PDFs or full speeches. But I shouldn't complain, they've got a huge database.

Thanks.

Actually, I'm trying to come up with the topic of my MA thesis in languages and I thought that analysis of Trump's speeches would be a great idea, although it would be a painful job.

I don't know what should I focus on, do you want to help? What's in what Trump says that it could be a good read? The way he talks about fake news? Democrats? People in general?
How about testing the theory that Trump's use of seemingly random capitals in fact has an express purpose?

The gop in Congress turning on him, meltdown in meeting with the dems, that letter.

Busy day for poor Donald. Barely any time for tweeting.

You will all more likely be kneeling to Barron Trump every morning with the national anthem starting " Amazing Trump, how unmatched thy wisdom,......"

I actually feel sorry for the general in that picture. He probably went to West Point, spent his entire career at pentagon painstakingly following orders to the minutest detail and here he is getting his ass handed to him by the speaker of the house, all because a trust fund baby fecked up a phone call with a foreign leader.

Next level projection.
Yes, anyone who doesn’t agree with him doesn’t like the country, is crazy/sick and should go back to where they came from. Good to see that Melania’s anti cyber bullying campaign is going very well.

She said yesterday that she regularly prays for his health. He's literally just repeating back stuff other people said but more crudely and openly insultingly.

It's interesting how people have been saying for years how they hoped the US stopped military campaigns throughout the world, but when it actually happens those same people want them to stay in Syria.

Ah come on now, its not that we want them to stay in Syria, but you can't just pull out troops at a seconds notice after years of being involved in a complex and hugely volatile situation. It's childish, stupid and ridiculously dangerous. He just sold out a US ally, renewed the ISIS threat and handed the Russians a route into the middle east. All because he's too much of a fecking moron to act in a careful and considered manner.

This is the same logic as always telling people to use a condom but if they don't, you don't tell them to abandon the kid.

Trump, as far as I know has always been consistent in this regard, he always said he would pull the troops out eventually. But when would it ever be a good time? If the US stayed and stopped the Turks, the regime would have eventually taken control of the Kurdish areas eventually anyway. So I don't think there would ever be a 'good time' to leave. Also its difficult to be on the same side as imperialists who advocated the Iraq invasion and action against Lybia. But I guess the hate for Trump overrides that even.

The US contributed to this mess in a huge way by invading Iraq in 2003. That's the thing that never should've happened. Now that they're there, they have the responsibility to at least leave the place in a somewhat acceptable manner.

The thing that's the most egregious of Trump's move is pulling out with less notice than you give a store clerk at Tesco's when you fire him. It's a ridiculous decision, which is even opposed within his own party. And seeing through what they supported this guy in the past years, that should be saying a lot.

And promising to do something stupid and following through doesn't make it less stupid. It makes it consistently stupid.

I don't think this is true, from the start he said he would pull out the troops.

The US are invested so much in the ME I don't think there would ever be a good time to leave like I've already said. But if we are serious about ending the involvement in foreign conflicts it has to start somewhere.

I know he said it during his election, but you can't just pull the plug by tweeting, oh btw we're pulling out guys, MAGA! That's not how the world works. The US doesn't exist in a vacuum, there's consequences to these kind of decisions. Consequences you should discuss with your allies. But that's the reason this man isn't fit to be president. He doesn't understand / care that there are consequences. It's purely to advance his own ego / support / trump towers.

The most painful thing is his supporters screaming, see he's brining our boys home, because these people don't understand / care about the consequences either. How, in this modern day, people can still be so nationalistic and so careless about the fate of people in other countries is insane to me.

That's just sensationalism, I'm pretty certain he spoke to his generals etc. His twitter is just his own propoganda tool. With regards to the rest of your post it goes back to the debate about whether the US should be the world police. Which most people have been opposed to, until apparently now because Trump is in charge.

Just to make it clear, I do think Trump is moron, however he is actually doing something (less involvement in foreign conflicts) that most people have been advocating for a very long time. I just find the current stance quite hypocritical.

That's the thing. It's not because there's this huge liberal conspiracy against Trump. No one wants endless wars in the middle east. He's just going about it in a rash and dumb way that is costing the life of a lot of unprepared people. You can do the right thing in the wrong way. And it's not just Trump critics that criticize this move, it's almost everyone. Friend and foe alike. Hell, even his personal assistant Lindsey Graham is opposed to it.

I think a more responsible President (and I don’t have Obama in mind) might have seen the writing on the wall months or years ago, and spent that time being honest with the SDF and attempting to broker peace talks between Turkey and the PKK which could have included making a new arrangement for north-east Syria.

All evidence suggests he surprised everyone other than Erdogan. Military, congress, senate other cabinet members- all have come out and said they n0t only didn't know, but disagree.

Actual situations are complicated and you can't ignore history. On principle less intervention is good, but that didnt mean none is, or that leaving can be demonstrably stupid.

I don't disagree with this to be honest, better diplomacy was required here, I was just pointing out some of the hypocrisy.

I also agree with @KirkDuyt summary of doing the right thing the wrong way.

Don't know about that mate, politicians in the US have quite shown the contrary, the same politicians saying that US should stay. That's what I meant about hypocrisy and not feeling comfortable in being the same side as these lot.

He gave the order to leave last week Sunday. There was no notice. Erdoğan started his invasion within 2 days of trump giving the pull out order. Troops left in such a rush the had to leave ammunition behind which they subsequently had to blow up using aircraft. The troops that pulled back have had close calls with the turks bombing campaign.

Even if you say we are going to leave which is a bad fecking idea, they literally had to leave in the thick of the night due to Trumps orders.

Just because Trump talks about leaving the middle East at rally's and on Twitter doesn't mean that troops in Syria are there walking around with suitcases packed ready to leave with five minutes notice

This isn't abut logistics, he said he would scale back US military around the world and he's doing that, whether you think that's right or wrong is another discussion.

No he literally did it in a tweet. The pentagon had no idea. State department had no idea. He just came off a call with Erdoğan Sunday night and sent out the order. Nobody saw it coming. It was completely out of the blue. The man is insane.
