Does seem odd that we get so many injuries and the scousers have very few, Mane hasn’t been injured for 3 years ffs. Can’t help but feel as though there’s something not right somewhere, mentality-wise.
We had 2 injuries. Pogba and martial. It isnt anything extraordinary like missing half your squad for a long period.

Playes takes a knock, got injured between 2 weeks and 1 month isnt a freak injury. It's normal. That's why teams have close to 2 lineups these days.

We really have some bizarre injuries of late. AWB, Shaw, Martial, even Pogba. What is happening?
The Shaw injury was infuriating. Went down against Palace, Maguire picked him up off the ground. He then limped to the sideline where he spoke with a member of the medical staff who sent him back on, when he clearly couldn't run. Maguire gets caught out of position covering for the clearly injured Shaw and we concede. Shaw then goes down again and has been out since with a hammy. At what point in that entire drama did either Shaw or the medic think it was ok to run on a suspect hammy injury?! Idiots.

Jones as well, official line on his injury is "unknown". Actually... Like... What?!?!

Best Liverpool team in my memory Vs the worst Utd team in my memory. What could possibly go wrong!?

2 nil gives us 7th place above spurs on goal difference.
If only winning was that easy. ;)
When was the last time we scored 2 goals - against CFC, on the opening day of the season.
It could happen against LFC, but...I doubt it.

    There's only one United!
We need to be HARD with these especially Henderson and Milner and not let them dominate us.

I'm not advocating breaking legs etc, but we must not be pushed into submission.

The tactic which works most against them is a one-on-one versus TAA and Robertson.

The TAA “dodgy defender” shout is overstated; as for Robertson, don’t think any side targets him as a soft opponent. He’s rarely bossed in any significant way.

What minute will they get their obligatory penalty? 33rd for me.

I can see is getting something though. The players have let us down but there’s no hiding in this fixture and have to be on it from the first minute. We won’t lose this.

    I'm hoping for.....

    Matic
    Scott.....Fred
    Andreas........James
    Rashford

Need all the legs and pace we can get. Martial has been out along time also, last thing we need is to risk him so soon. Needs to be eased back in, and this is not the game for it, I feel.

Hopefully he's not rushing De Gea back just like he did with Pogba.

He is the only member of the squad that can sit deep in midfield, I would feel it would be a mistake to go with a two man midfield against these lot.
    It will be a 3 i think..
    Martial Rashford James
    AP Fred Mct
    young-defense
    romero/Degea

I think we'd be inviting trouble with that midfield. No defensive discipline, except for maybe Scott, who is more suited to the B2B role for me.

In all fairness, I cant see it making too much of a difference regardless.

The medical team and Pogba declared him fit to play after 26 days out with an ankle injury (turns out it wasn’t but Ole/fergie/Pep/Klopp/Nostradamus none of which are medical experts can be blamed for the information being wrong) so yeah lay everything at the fault of Ole

Ole himself said he was playing through pain barrier.

If you’ve read any sports biography it’s rare for any professional player not to be playing through a pain barrier.

Some are just made of the right stuff however.

We were facing a League One side in League Cup. There was absolutely no reason to play him through pain barrier for such a game.

Or some would argue that was the ideal game for him to come back from an ankle injury if cleared by the medical team especially as we were playing a rather important league game at the weekend.

Again, the manager himself said he was playing through pain barrier, so I don't know how he was exactly declared fully fit by the medical team. Even if Pogba asked to play while he's not fully ready he shouldn't. Ole is the manager and has his say, not the player. There was no reason to play him through pain barrier in such a game.

I’m sure there was a reason, it’s not like he exactly busted a gut against Rochdale anyway.

I think it will be closer than many are expecting. Ole will have no problem motivating the lads for this one. That said, they're still easily favourites.

Can't see anything other than a loss. Having a shot on target would be a bonus.

    Romero
    AWB Tuanzebe Maguire Young
    McTominay Matic Fred
    James Martial Rashford
    De Gea
    Dalot
    Lindelof
    Pereira
    Gomes
    Greenwood

I could get behind that team tomorrow. De Gea over the past year doesn't warrant a place over a fully fit Romero. Tuanzebe has been better than Lindelof.

I'd have Matic vs Winaldum, McTominay vs Henderson and Freds energy vs Fabinho and neutralise the midfield.

AWB vs Mane, Tuanzebe and Maguire vs Firminho and Young vs Salah as he's pocketed him previously atleast twice.

James to match the energy of Robertson... Martial to try and isolate Matip and take him for a run, and Rashford to get in behind Trent and keep him honest by cheating and not always defending.

Best we can do atm is go out to firstly contain Liverpool and see if we can score on the counter or a set piece.

De Gea; Valencia; Bailly; Smalling; Young; McTominay; Matic, Mata; Sanchez; Rashford; Lukaku was the team that last beat Liverpool. Funny how times have changed... we have better defenders, similar midfielders and attackers yet are a million times worse.

Our attackers now are horrific compared to then. None of our players are in form.

Rashford bullied him early on in his career.

    Same again please.

He’s not going to have DDG on the bench:lol:
He’s either starting or he won’t be in the squad

Not sure how much better we were. We had 5 shots that day and 32% possession. The type of thing Solskjaer would get slaughtered for right now.

Lukaku and Sanchez in March 2018 was a better attack than anything we have now but they still weren't producing much.

I’m fairly certain Ole’s comment was about Pogba playing through the pain barrier after hurting his ankle again during the Rochdale game, not from kick off. He played that game in order to get sharp for Arsenal but it backfired as he hurt himself again.

God I hate this fixture. The game at Anfield is usually ok but this one is always a struggle.

I wouldn’t be too upset with a point but we really should be trying to make a statement.
